My mail app has deleted the trash folder from my hotmail account.

This afternoon my mail app started saying unable to send to trash. I'm baffled, as I haven't touched any settings and up until today I have had no issues with the mail app. I keep my trash empty so that negates the only fix I could find while researching the problem. I tried to go to the specific hotmail account and there appears to be only inbox and drafts listed. Any suggestions?

  • Mac Mail downloading archived, deleted and trash email from my Gmail account.

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro Retina - retiring my old MacBook. When I synced Gmail with my Mac Mail all archived/deleted Gmail is coming in like new into my Mac Mail Inbox. This was never the case before. Any idea how to stop this? It's downloading thousands of emails in the order I received them.

  • I successfully deleted the U2 album from my ICloud account

I successfully deleted the U2 album from my ICloud account and followed the the Apple page directions to delete the individual songs from my IPhone 4, but the songs remain.  My IPhone still shows an album picture, the song title(s), and the little ICloud icon.  What if any are my options to remove these songs from my IPhone?

That should disappear shortly. I seem to recall there is a slight delay between executing the change for the page and when it no longer shows up in iTunes.

  • How can I delete the .Trashes folder on my SD Card

I have an SD card for my Raspberry Pi, and my Pi was acting up, so I downloaded Raspbian. I have hidden folders visible. I opened up my SD, and I deleted everything. Little did I know, it ended up in the .Trashes folder. I literally have 58.7 MB left on an 8 GB SD. Someone please help!

On the Mac, empty the Trash.

  • I accidentally deleted the documents folder from my hard drive. can I recover it?

I accidentally deleted the documents folder (and its contents) from my ibook hard drive. Can I recover it?

It takes a really expensive data recovery service to get back things that have been deleted.
You could try Data Rescue 3, if you're desperate to get the documents back.
    http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php
    System Requirements:
    http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue_sysreq.php
If you want to try this, stop using the iBook immediately, and wait until you get the recovery software because every time you save something to your hard drive (even if it's only a link in your browser history), you risk overwriting the files you deleted.

  • Mail Mac has deleted all my emails from the server..how to get them back?

Mistakenly, I've changed the options in Mail app in Mac, which says "Remove copy from server after retrieving a massage" Immediately, and it deleted all my emails from the server. Is there anyway to return all my 3000 emails back to the server? cuz I want to access them from anywhere :S it's a hotmail account.

You can create a new IMAP account in Apple Mail, and move all the messages to the IMAP folders. They are synced with the server.
I don't know if hotmail supports imap though, I would prefer Gmail.

  • My 10.5.8 mail app went into the trash

My mail app on my 10.5.8 went into the trash by accident. I can't find my disk to reload it. Where can I download the disk for this compnuter?

Togh to tell on the lost folders.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, or are running 10.7+, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • Is there any way to delete the favorites folder from the mac mail sidebar?

I recently made the mistake of flagging two email messages. Immediately I now see a "Flagged" icon in my Mac Mail sidebar, right under the Inbox. I the "unflagged" the messages. They went away but the Flagged icon won't. It now seems to be a permanent fixture of my mail sidebar. Is there any way to move, relocate or delete a mailbox icon you don't use and don't want to see?

There's no "downgrade" from OS X Server 10.6 Snow Leopard Server to client.
Acquire the current OS X client software, boot the DVD and use Disk Utility to erase the target disk, and reinstall the software.
Leaving the box with the server software running, with the services stopped, adds negligible performance overhead.  If any.

  • How to delete the data folder of a removed account?

    Greetings,
While preparing the backup of my profile folder, I have realized that there are several folders in my IMAP profile subfolder ( C:\Users\…\Thunderbird\Profiles\2mr7tdtg.default\ImapMail ) that exist in that folder and I don't understand what they do there. The "several folders" that I'm talking about are named after IMAP servers that I've used in the past.
I believe, judging from the last modification timestamps of a few of them, that these folders match old accounts that I have deleted and, for some accounts, recreated for various reasons. I have 23 folders in the ImapMail folder while only having 5 current accounts in Thunderbird.
Needless to say, those extra folders take up much space on my disk. I'd like to remove them as I don't understand why these folders and their contents aren't deleted when the account is removed from Thunderbird.
Question: how do I know which folder is still active and which account it is linked to? Put differently, how do I know which folder holds the messages and data of a specific e-mail account?
    Thank you.

Open Account Settings. Select 'Server Settings' for an account in the left pane.
The 'Local Directory' setting identifies the corresponding folder for the account.
Repeat that for your other accounts.

  • Can't rectify a problem after  trying to delete the Movie folder from iDisk

A little while ago I deleted the folder named "Movies" from my iDisk. I had never used it so I thought I could just get rid of it. Since then whenever I start the laptop, presumably at the stage it syncs the iDisk, I get the message.. ...There is a problem deleting the folder "Movies" . You do not have permission to delete this folder. You can check your permissions in the Info panel in the Finder.
Its as if the command to try to delete this folder is undoable but simply won't go away. Its really irritating. I accept I'll have to live with the folder, I just want to get rid of the recurring message.
I can see now that the Movie folder is one I'm going to have to live with!
How can I get back to the default folder setup so this message doesn't come up any more.
By the way, The "permissions" on the iDisk say that I have read / write privileges.
    Many thanks... iain B

  • I accidentily deleted the "yesterday" folder from my history list. How do I get it back (the folder, not the contents)?

I meant to delete the contents of the "yesterday" history folder, but accidentily deleted the folder itself (with the little clock in front of it) by by right clicking, then choosing delete from the dropdown menu when "yesterday" was highlighted. Can't figure out how to put that folder (or collection site or whatever it is) back on the list. Thanks for any help you can provide.
