My mail client is opening every message when I launch

Every time I launch the mail it just is going crazy. Any ideas?

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.
In Mountain Lion you will find that you have a bit more control over this in OS X General preferences in System Preferences.

I have followed the below troubleshooting steps but still getting the same error.

Uninstalled the below program :Microsfot Visuall C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 - KB2467175" and installed "Microsfot Visuall C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 - 9.0.21022"

I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in this link (http://blog.timolthof.com/outlook-no-default-mail-client-error/) and everything google and bing and still this message keeps popping up. Now when I do a windows search for email, I'm not able to view
the email due to this message.
For the record, I am running W7 Ultimate x64 and connected via Excange Server. I do have another system that is running Office 2010 with none of these problems so I don't know if it's related to Exchange though the searches I've done don't allude
to that.

Adobe reader XI gives error "mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request".

I keep receiving warnings that I need to update Adobe Reader. I currently have the latest version of Adobe Reaxer X (10.1.7). When I click on "Check for Updates" I am told no updates are available.
I have tried installing Adobe Reader XI but, when I launch it, I receive an error message stating that "mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request".
I do not want to use Microsoft Outlook (or any other Mail Client). How do I install Adobe Reader XI without a default Mail Client being required?

Mail crashes on opening any message with attachments

mail crashes on opening any message with attachments
this started happening about a month ago. I thought the problem was that there was too much mail in the program -
so, I acquired a program called MAILSTEWARD (which I recommend!) and it stores & saves my old mail.
I reset MAIL, so it kept my address and smart folder instructions etc, but all the mail itself was gone (I forget how I did that - I probably will try it again...)
for a few weeks, everything was fine - I could open an eMail with an attachment, and it worked.
but now it started crashing again everytime there's an attachment!
don't know what to do - there's only a month's worth of mail in there (which I should clean out anyhow) - but it seems to me that's not too much...

that's it - I ran the updater - and I believe I have been able to use it all day without the program crashing when it encounters an attachment.
one goofy thing I noticed, for the first time, there appear to be two applications folders on my start-up drive (1) in my user folder (2) in the "main" hard drive folder.
MAIL is in both - I believe the "main" one was updated; when I turned on the "user" MAIL it crashed when I opened an eMail with an attachment; when I opened the same eMail with the "main" mail there was no problem.
now what does this tell us?

Lync 2013 generates repeated messages stating “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.”. Events that
seem to generate messages is disconnecting and re-connecting to a network but it also happens randomly and the messages will stack up during a working day. Everything seem to work OK but it is an annoyance. The computer is upgraded (uninstalled first)
from Office 2013 ProPlus to Office 365 ProPlus. Outlook (Desktop) is default mail client. 64-bit Windows 8.1 Enterprise, 64-bit Office (both before upgrade and after).

Made no difference what so ever and the messages continue. What's next?
I posted the above to the Office 2013 forum (unfortunately I'm not allowed yet to post a link to that posting) but due to the fact that the computer affected by this is a networked domain computer I've been redirected to this group instead. I

Right click on any file and Click on Send to-> Mail Recipient and check if you are able to send mails using Outlook.

Also check if the Lync add-in is enabled in Outlook.
Start Outlook

Go to Options.

My last posting in the other forum contained the following additional information regarding our problem:
As far as we can see installing 32-bit Office 365 Pro Plus using click to run makes no difference.
We do not send any mails from Lync, Lync is however the process that generates the message most frequently (as Lync seem to react upon network events).
Other processes that have Outlook plugins may also be the parent of the message popup (third party applications).
Yes the Lync add-in is enabled. Lync functionality in/from Outlook seem unaffected.
It is not possible to send emails from other applications (explorer, word, excel etc.) ie. right clicking and send to generates the messages and
a follow up error message concerning lack of MAPI enabled e-mail.

Show Me Messages When I Launch Reader

I have created a package ArcoRead.msi with a MST.
I was wondering if I could automate the following settings:
- Show Me Messages When I Launch Reader
- Don’t Show Messages While Viewing A Document
I want the first one to be deselected and the second one to be selected.
How can I manage that ? By customize package or by registry key ?
Any help is welcome.

For now I added the keys with the Adobe Customization Wizard 10 in my MST. Works perfectly.

QuickLaunch was recently withdrawn, which is why it's not longer available on the Lenovo download website or System Update. I recommend uninstalling it, and using something else like http://www.pokki.com/windows-8-start-menu

Mail opens multiple messages when i open it

my mail app will open a random number of messages when i start the app and then sometimes it just opens the app. i have made sure there are no messages open when i close the app, but often dozens of messages open when i start mail. very frustrating as it seems random.
anyone else experience this?

Try to reset safari via the safari menu .. Also if you can quit safari from the safari menu holding down the option key and pick quit and close all windows it might resolve your issue.

Mail opens three messages when I open it

This has been happening for a few weeks: upon launching Mail, it immediately opens three separate windows, one each for different aliases I have linked to my Mail account.
I only really use one--my main alias for the Roadrunner email address I have--and I don't even remember adding the others.
1) If I keep the other aliases, can I stop Mail from opening messages automatically?
2) If i want to get rid of the other aliases, how do I do that?

Do you have any mailboxes approaching or that have exceeded 1 GB in size?
How often have you used the Rebuild Mailbox function on all mailboxes?
If never or not often, don't do so on any mailboxes until checking their size. This shouldn't be used on any mailbox that is approaching or has exceeded 1 GB in size.

Mail will not open - error message says home directory is full

I am running 10.4.3 on a dual 800 PowerPC G4 with 1.5 GB SDRAM.
I also run 10.4.3 on one PowerBook G4 and 2 iBooks.
I retain on my computer a large number of email messages but have plenty of room in my .Mac file
I run several hundred email messages per day.
Three days ago when I attempted to open Mail, I rec'd error message "Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full. You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unneeded documents or move documents to another volume."
I have deleted many files from the home folder and moved others. I still get the same error message.
I have experienced no problems with accessing my mail using my PowerBook G4 with similar config and OS.

With Mail quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail.
Move the Mail folder to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and a new Mail folder (and account named folders within) will be created automatically.
All new mailboxes will be empty but if this allows the Mail.app to function properly, you can use the Import Mailboxes feature to import selected mailboxes or manually replace mailboxes from the old Mail folder one at a time to determine which mailbox was causing the problem

Mail refuses to open one message, others ok

For some reason I can't open a message in mail from my web provider. Other messages only a few hours earlier form the same source work fine. I opened the emessage in webmail and it was just an innocuous form letter.
It did actually open it at first, but there was no message.
Wondering if there's a font problem with Mail? Message just won't open but others will. Weird.

I tried what you suggested, but it still came up with the same error message when I opened mail.
In your instructions, it looks like you ask me to repeat the process twice, but the second time there is no ~ before the address in the Go to menu.
Is that right, as it did not find anything without the ~, but did find it in the first attempt?
(Hope that makes sense)
Any other suggestioins, or should I try deleting the whole antispam folder, rather than just the contents?

Can't sync contacts - says mail client cannot fulfill the messaging?????

I'm trying to sync a contacts sub folder in Outlook 2003, but keep getting a message that says "there is no default mail client...etc." I can't even get it to sync calendar or main contacts. I checked Outlook help and I've done everything it says. Any suggestions?
