My mail hasn't updated in almost a month on my iPod touch?

I haven't been on my computer at home for a couple days. I checked the mail using Safari & I had 80 unread emails. That's when I noticed that my mail has not updated on my iPod touch for almost a month. Does anyone know what could be causing that? I deleted the account & restarted the iPod & then added the mail account & it still doesn't update past 12/24/2012. I have another email account on the iPod that is working just fine. Can anyone help?

Thanks Aravind1234 for replying, but that was the first thing I tried to no avail. I spent an hour on the phone with Apple support & they couldn't figure the problem out either. I've found it has something to do with Google. If I'm signed into Google or YouTube, I stop getting emails updated. I can still send them but none make it to the inbox. I have two email accounts that I use on the iPod. The only account having this problem is the account associated with signing into both Google & YouTube. I signed out of them & my email updated. I signed back into YouTube a couple days later to make a comment on a friends video & like before, the email updates stopped even when I pull down on the screen & try to manually update. So until I find a different solution signing out of those two sites is what I'm doing. 8•)

thanks for the reply.  guess i'll have to do that.  apple, not really happy with what you've done with this latest update.  have not been able to enjoy my music in my car since the update.  most of us dont mind changes that progress timely, but this was much more than just a progression.  this was a complete change.  and not a good one, at all.  thanks to the two people that replied.  appreciate it.

  • HT4972 I have iOS 6 and I want to update to iOS 7 but I have iPod touch 4

I have iOS 6 and I want to update to iOS 7 but I have iPod touch 4 generation, is there a way I can update?

    No
. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

All you have to do is connect the iPod to our computer and update via iTunes. You do not have to seperately erase and restore the iPod. That is done automatically as part of the update process.
    To update see:
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
You need iTunes 10.5 or later on the computer. Y will go to iOS 5.1.1. the last update fopr the 3G

  • Does anyone know if the iOS 7 update will ever be available on the iPod touch 4?

Does anyone know if the iOS 7 update will ever be available on the iPod touch 4? And is iOS 7 even worth getting? I've read some articles about kind of getting iOS 7 by jailbreaking, etc but I don't want to do that. Some people are also saying that it will be available, is this true? I currently have iOS 6.1.5. Thanks.

  • My church podcast hasn't updated in over a month

, I am the media director and recently took over uploads. We noticed this week that the podcast https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/rivergate-church-bryan-texas/id434691249 hasn't updated since dec 2. I checked the RSS feed and it is working flawlessly, was able to download all episodes they just havent been updating on itunes. I load 1 new episode every week.

Yes, there is a feed at that address, but if you want to move the Store to using a different feed there is a specific method for doing it, involving adding a tag to the old feed. The exact method is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
So you will need to reinstate the feed at the old address and add the tag. If you can't do that you will have to email podcasts 'at' appple.com and ask them to move the Store to using the new feed (give the the Store URL and both feed URLs).

I have an ipod touch 1st generation. I am unable to upgrade the software so that I may use newer apps like Instagram. What can I do? I also have a new imac, and a first generation ipad. None of the calendars will synch! I must be missing something! So frustrated as I would like to be able to use all to full capacity and easiness among devices.

  • I updated iTunes to iOS5 and now my iPod Touch 2G is not recognized in iTunes.  I'm getting a message that says "Apple Mobile Device service is not started".  What does this mean?

What does "the Apple Mobile Device service is not started" mean?  I updated iTunes and I got this message when connecting my iPod Touch (2nd gen).

Never mind--I think I found the answer through other posts.  Thanks!

  • ITunes won't automically update to IOS 5 when connecting to iPod Touch

I followed the directions to connect my iPod to iTunes and it won't initiate the upgrade to IOS 5.  When I clicked on the check for updates button, I get a message that I am current.  Being that I am on version 4.2.7 I find that hard to believe.  I also tried a Manual download of IOS 5 and that did not work either.

Do you mean iOS 4.2.1?  If so, it means you likely have a 2G iPod Touch, which can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1.  See this article to help you determine what generation of your iPod Touch is.

  • Failed software update (3.3.1) has rendered my iPod Touch useless

I am appealing for help here as I am pulling my hair out with this issue. This morning I went to update my 2nd Gen iPod Touch to 3.3.1 software. At what should have been the end of the update, it told me that it didn't recognize the iPod and wanted to do a Restore. At the end of the Restore the the screen of the iPod went black and the iPod wasn't recognized via USB on my PC. I am running Windows 7 in case anyone wants to know.
I have searched in vain for a way to resolve this issue. The documents on Apple's Support in attempting to update the driver are useless. The the device isn't recognized so I can't update the Drive as Windows is going to think that it has the most current driver. Can anyone help me with this?
I am pulling my hair out trying to fix this. This is the 2nd Apple product that I have had fail on me during a software upgrade and I am getting upset. To prevent me from finding out how fast this thing will blend, I am begging for help.
    Thanks

At this point I have done all I can, I am going to plop down the $29 as my Touch is out of warranty. This is the second time I have had the same issue with an iPod Touch, so I really feel that Apple should cover this, but that should be left for another post......
If it is as simple as flashing the iPod OS onto the internal flashdrive I am going to be so mad! If my iPod is bricked and needs replacing (as I can't live without an iPod) I might just move up to the iPad. I will report back with any findings I might make.......
