My mail is not syncing with hotmail?

Hi there,
I have recently set up mail on my Macbook Air with a hotmail account. I am able to view all mail in the account however, when I have deleted items in my hotmail account, they still appear in the mail on my mac...anyone have any ideas how I have sync them to update?
Thanks

Nothing screwed up with your Mac, with your wife's Mac or with the Mail application.
This problem lies entirely with Microslop which controls the incoming mail servers for Hotmail accounts - accepting or denying the receipt of messages at the server and sending the return email error message to the sender when a message sent by the sender was not accepted for whatever reason.
The Hotmail account recipients need to contact Microslop to report this problem.

  • After installing Mavericks on my iMac, Apple Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  Now Mail crashes every time I open it.  What's up?

After installing Mavericks on an imac, Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  After I clicked on All Mail the program crashed and now it crashes every time I open Mail.  Does anyone have an suggestions?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Apple mail not syncing with hotmail e-mail on iPhone

I just bought a MacBook Pro a couple days ago and before when I was using my PC my hotmail account on my PC would sync with my hotmail e-mail on my iPhone 4.  Since I setup my hotmail account in Apple Mail it is not syncing with my iPhone.  When I delete it on my Mac or show it as read, it still shows as unread on my iPhone.  This did not use to happen.  Can someone help me, so I can get my Mac and iPhone to sync my e-mails?
And I cannot see all my Hotmail folders in Apple Mail.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I've got many years of emails saved on my hotmail account and I've got other different email addresses set up to forward their emails to this account. Due to the nature of my work, I also regularly have to search back through my emails.
It looks like my only option currently is to use an icloud account and have all of my other email accounts all forwarding emails to that instead. Unfortunately, this doesn't solve the problem of being able to search back through my emails, though.
Does anyone know how the iphone manages to successfully connect with hotmail accounts (as though using IMAP). As I said, my iphone works absolutely perfectly and is fully synced with the hotmail server. I know it's something to do with 'microsoft exchange' but I really don't understand what this is and how it works.
    Thanks, Matt

  • TS3276 OS X Mavericks Mail does not sync with Exchange Server

After moving to Mavericks, mail, contacts, anc calendars do not sync with our exchange server. It will set up the first time and then stop sycning. Is there a way to delete the mail app and reinstall. All other Apple devices sync with the exchange server with no issues.

It was my DNS settings. I had my Airpot pointing to OpenDNS, and for some reason iCal and Address Book could not find their way to my exchange server. I changed the setting to use my ISP's DNS and now everything works fine.

  • IPhone Mail inbox not syncing with Mac inbox

    Greetings
Since upgrading my MBP recently, mail in my iPhone Mail inbox/sent items has not been syncing fully with my Mac Mail inbox/sent items.
Messages which are moved to folders stored On My Mac remain in my iPhone inbox.
Messages which are moved to folders stored in iCloud are removed from my iPhone in inbox and are visible as they should be in the iCloud folders on my iPhone.
I use both an iCloud email account as well as an account through my domain host. I do not use Gmail or an Exchange account, and tis problem dud not occur with my old MBP.
    Any advice most gratefully received.
    Sashina.

    Hi KiltedTIm
Hmmm. I've changed my Mac, iPhone and iPad all from POP to IMAP. On my Mac there are only two items in the inbox in question, but on both mobile devices are every bit of mail from that account (not in filed iCloud folders) going back to 17 April. I've restarted both devices but everything is still in the inbox.
    Any further ideas?
    Thanks!

  • My ipad mail is not syncing with my iPhone

My ipad is not syncing mail with my iPhone when I read mail on my  iPhone it doesn't  say read on my ipad . Can anyone help me to sort this problem please.

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

  • Msn mail account not syncing with iPhone 4

My msn email won't sync with my iPhone 4. It used to, but ever since the apple upgrade I've lost the ability to use my email through my phone. I can no longer send emails, look at emails that are moved to specific folders, or move emails to any folder (no folders are showing up except junk or trash).. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the mail and have gone to a Verizon store for assistance only to be told after an hour of them looking at it, that they had no clue how to help me. My email is completely useless on my phone and that is unacceptable. How can this be fixed?

        Hi jhawk70,
I'm so sorry to hear about any trouble with getting your MSN account to work on your iPhone. I completely understand how frustrating that can be! I definitely want to make sure we can get you connected again.
Are you still on iOS6 or have you upgraded to iOS7? Are these the steps you're following: http://bit.ly/1mND5pF

  • IPhone 5s mail deletion not syncing with Mavericks mail app

I am having issues with email not deleting->syncing.
I will check my email on my iphone 5s.
I will delete a few emails.
When I get home and check my email on my imac mail app.....
those emails that I deleted will still be in the inbox (even after refreshing)
What am I missing? Ive checked all the setting but must be missing one small thing....
As it works correctly when deleting from my Mavericks mail app then checking my iphone.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Make sure you have the "Delete from server" set to "When removed from Inbox" on the iPhone.  Otherwise the server will keep the email and your Mac will see it when you read your mail later.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (select account) > Advanced > (under INCOMING SETTINGS) Delete from server > (Make your selection here)

  • Apple mail does not sync with gMail

Today my Apple Mail no longer provides me with my gMail in the inbox.
I can send mail to my gMail address and it shows in the Sent box ...but it never makes it to my Inbox.
If I log directly into Google Mail the email message is there.
    This has always worked before.
Also, just now I downloaded and installed the Apple update for Mail ...which said it fixes some gMail account issues ..but I still have the problem.

    Hi guys
I'm stuck here having exactly the same problem. The funny thing is, it all started since that Mail for Mavericks update, 1.0 which I installed yesterday, which irronically stated it should solve some instability problems (that I was not experincing at all) and made things go completely wrong. I tried to delete and add the account again, and it is not making things better. The weird thing is that I can see the content of some folders, such as deleted items, and inconsistent as it is, it might not display it anymore after I try to go back to this folder. For example, I thought I solved the problem this afternoon, after I had deleted the account and added it for the third time, and let my computer sit there for a while and sync. When I returned to my Mac after an hour, I was under the impression that it synced my inbox correctly, but then when I clicked on another folder to see what's inside and got back to inbox afterwards, it was completely empty again. Mail is just very unstable and the problems are increddibly inconsistent. I think I am now going to try to add the account manually. I will let you know what happens.

  • Leopard mail will not sync with gmail

I just got the new imac and have been using tiger on my former mac mini. When i set up the mac mail client on my imac it only pulled in the emails I had received in the past week from gmail instead of all of them like I needed it to. Is there a setting I need to activate for the mail client to pull in all messages, I can't keep logging into gmail when I need to reply to an old email.

Several people have reported issues with GMAIL. I would first re-create my gmail configuration from scratch, and cross my fingers.
I have had not issues on any of my machines.

  • Why my Mail does not sync with my Gmail properly leaving old mess in my Mail inbox?

The problem is - when I delete unnecessary massages from my inbox in my Gmail (web) and then I go to my Apple Mail I still see those old messages which I have just deleted!
I have the same issue on my iPod Touch 4 gen. I do not have this issue on my BlackBerry. When I delete messages on my BlackBerry it also automatically deletes them on my Gmail account.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have a direct solution for you, but this article might have useful advice.

  • Mail will not sync with ICloud

Someone sent me an address book export (.abbu). When I opened the file it says "Do you want to replace "Contacts" by this file. Said YES !
    Big mistake !!!
Every thing has been erased and my address book is now...empty !
Luckily I have everything on ICloud, so piece of cake
    but no it's not
Even though I re-created the ICould identiy on my Address book, it never shows
no matter how many times I tried
the IClould account doesn't apprear, only my local account which, of course, is EMPTY
    Any ideas ?
    thx
btw: all my contacts are on ICloud and appear fine on my MacBook

Did you try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Contacts, choose Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), then restart your Mac and go back and check Contacts again in System Preferences>iCloud?
