Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. You can only set the duration of a slide to less than 5 seconds, if you are using a theme, were the transitions between slides can be disabled or controlled - so you would be restricted to the "Classic" theme or the "Ken Burns" theme. All other themes need at least two seconds for the transitions and three seconds to actually show the photo.
You can set the Ken Burns Theme to a very short time for the transitions and to add the "Antique" photo effect to selected slides, like this: -

I don't quite understand your point. If iTunes leaves the book "ticked" it should transfer back to the iPad when you sync because the "tick" means that the item is selected to sync.
If you want to remove the book from your iTunes library, launch iTunes on your computer, click on "Books" under the library heading, click on the book that you want to delete and hit the delete key or right click on the book and select delete. I think both methods will work if you want to delete the book.
I don't know if that answers the question, but like I said, I'm unclear as to what you mean. -

I am get this message on my Ipad and have followed the instructions, connect the Ipad, lock the screen and connected to a Wi-Fi connection - however I have done this but I still get the message on the screen. Try this. Go to Settings>FaceTime >Off. Reset the iPad and then go back and turn FaceTime on again. See if that fixes it for you.

Mail on my Mac computer does not update when I update my mail on my iPhone and iPad. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a setting that I need to check?
All that you had to do was to sign into the old account in order to update those apps. What I mean is that you just needed to sign into that account in the store settings like I described and that should have worked. You didnt need to enter the credit card information again - you justed needed to use the old ID and password.
Anyway, I think the good news is that if everything else is OK with the new account, just download iBooks with the new ID - it's a free app so its not like you have to pay for it again. I'm not sure what the other App is that you are talking about - but if it is the Apple Store App - that is free as well.
Try this anyway, when you try to update iBooks, just use the old password if the old ID still pops up.
Did you try signing into the store settings with your new ID and see what happens with the updates then? -
Mail stopped working on iPad & iPhone, but not G5, after installing iOS 7.
Here we have a G5, an iPhone-4 and an iPad all linked to the same POP account. Mail fetching on all three devices had been working fine.
Earlier this week (10/23 or 10/24), however, Mail on both the iPhone and the iPad quit working shortly after our having installed iOS 7 on each of them. This could be a coincidence, but Mail on a G5 running 10.5.8 linked to the same account is still fetching and sending mail just fine.
Every time we swipe down on the message list (the gesture to fetch new mail) in Mail on the iPad, an error message appears,
Cannot Get Mail
The user name or password for
"Primary Mail Account" is incorrect
Settings | OK
An analogous gesture on the iPhone produces the same message.
But Mail on the G5 (running 10.5.8) still works fine to fetch mail from the same POP account.
Here are some details:
About two weeks ago, we installed iOS 7 on the iPad and the iPhone. Mail continued to work after the installation.
About a week later, last Wednesday, 10/23, the iPad went through a spontaneous installation event, in which the multilingual series of "Hello!" images familiar to those who install Mac operating systems floated across the screen. Apparently, this event installed iOS 7.0.3. There followed a short series of initialization dialogs, then everything seemed to work OK.
Except that Mail wasn't working. This could be a coincidence, but Mail on this iPad has not worked since last Wednesday. The last message received is dated last Wednesday.
We don't know whether the iPhone went through a similar event, but Mail quit working on it, as well. Mail on this iPhone now gets the same message, above, as on the iPad. The last message received by the iPhone was last Thursday, 10/24. The iPhone's iOS is now 7.0.2. The iPhone says that iOS 7.0.3 is downloaded, but not yet installed.
We compared the settings for Mail on the G5, on which Mail is still working, against the settings on the iPad and the iPhone. They all seem pretty much the same.
Have you heard of anyone else with this problem, or might you have an idea how to research it?

I thought I'd be clever and create a new account before deleting the old one. That didn't work, as "Settings" kept insisting that the account had already been created. I had actually to delete the old account and create a new one from nada.
I was careful to write down all the settings parameters first. Even so, it took a few tries to get everything spelled right. Fortunately, "Settings" checked everything carefully and its messages pointed to the right places.
I still got the same error message the first time i relaunched Mail. However, this time I chose the "OK" option. Since then and thereafter it seems to be working.

I have an article here that has a list of settings to get from your Email provider so you can make sure that the settings are correct. It has troubleshooting steps to try as well. Also I would recommend restarting the router, and/or testing a differnet network.

Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.

If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.

TS3899 Mail on my iPad 2 suddenly will not download my inbox for one account.
Mail on my iPad 2, iOS 8.3 suddenly will not download my inbox. I have two other accounts on the same provider (AT&T - Yahoo) with the same settings that work fine. The account will send mail OK. Sometimes it will return an error message "cannot connect to server" after a long time of the spinning wheel. It was doing this just prior to updating iOS 8.3 and still the same after updating.
If I delete the account and re-add it, will I lose all my mail folders, the emails saved in them, contacts, calendar, etc.?
Will a restore recover them at that point?
Any ideas or suggestions?If you delete the account off the iPad you won't delete the info permanently, although you will delete it off your device. If you delete it off your iPad the data will come back when you re-add it.

Are all your accounts yahoo? If so you may want to read the above posts. There have been issues with yahoo for quite some time now. People have said these fixes work, however I haven't tried any of them since mine is still working. -

You start at #1 and work your way through until the issue you're seeing goes away. If you get through all of the steps and it still doesn't work, you're pretty much out of gas and have to start talking to Apple. -
Apple Mail client no longer marks my mail as read on all my iOS devices. If I read a email on my iPhone and later open Mail on my iPad, the iPad still shows the email as unread.This changed recently, perhaps after iOS7 upgrade. Did I miss a setting? All mail account are IMA. iCloud is set to push, business mail is set to fetch every 15 minutes.

I'm not receiving the verification email to activate two additional gmail addresses for Facetime on my ipad air. I have been trying for over a week and the emails are not in my spam or junk folders. In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.
