My mates Hotmail account doesn't see my e-mails

My mate has a hotmail account and over the last year or so he does not get emails from me sent from my bt account.
I started sending him emails from my works email address and he gets these no problem including attachments.
He lives 30 miles away and is not very computer literate so before I try and explainto him how to view his settings and try and make changes, I wondered if anyone else has come across this problem.
I do not get a return message telling that there is a delivery failure so I assume he is receiving them, just not seeing them in his inbox. I have spoken to him about the spam folder but he tells me there are no emails from me in there either.
Any help / advice to point me in the rigyt direction would be helpful

TS3899 Hotmail account not working in iPhone 5 mail app

At first I thought it was a COS, College of the Sequoias, as in the college I'm going to, Hotmail situation BUT it turns out it's a Hotmail in general situation because my other Hotmail account doesn't show my inbox or sent mail at all. I sent up my Hotmail account properly, go to it on the mail app, click on it and the inbox is empty. So is the sent box. Go to hotmail on the browser..there's all my mail! When hotmail decided to go all wonky I tried resynchronize my COS hotmail on the iPad again because I know it worked there. But I had updated the software since then. Thus it not working now!
My gmail and yahoo accounts are working flawlessly on my mail app however the Hotmail..not so much! I've been doing some research on the net..could the update be the problem?? If so, I can't wait for the iOS 7 software update!

Same here. I, too, have tried everything, including removing and re-adding the Hotmail account and SMTP servers, rebooting, you name it. Some folders seem to sync sometimes, but some do not ever. The main inbox does not sync at all. In addition, the problem seems to be strictly with Apple Mail on my iMac and MacBook Pro. The issue does not occur on my iPhone 6 or iPad Mini. I was very pleased with Apple Mail until now.

If I try to log in to my Hotmail account in Firefox, Hotmail says my Hotmail account doesn't exist, while I can problemlessly log in in other browsers

When I open Hotmail in Firefox and try to log in, Hotmail says my account doesn't exist. But I can problemlessly log in in other browsers, so I'm sure there's no problem with my account. Further, I'm absolutely sure I didn't misspell anything. Before this problem occured, I've always been able to log in to my Hotmail account in Firefox. I've already tried clearing my cookies and history, but it still doesn't work.

Folders made in Hotmail account doesn't show up unlike folders from Yahoo

Hello everyone. I have different folders I created in my Yahoo account to help keep my inbox clean. Every folder I have created in Yahoo shows up in my iPhone. I created similar folders in Hotmail but they don't show up in my iPhone. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

A Hotmail account can be accessed as a POP account, and this isn't supported with a POP account.
This is supported with an IMAP account and you are accessing your Yahoo account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client.

Multiple hotmail accounts but one will not send mails and gives no error messages

I have four hotmail accounts on my iPad (me, kids, wife) and we have all been using them fine however, my wife's hotmail account will not send mails. I get no error messages at all for this to explain why, it just doesn't reach the intended recipient and does not turn up in the sent mail folder.
I have deleted the account and re installed using a number of the choices including other outlook and even tried yahooing no change.
Can anyone assist.

This problem in Mail is usually caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption that affects the built-in spell checker. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services — the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:

New personal mail account doesn't show up in 'Mail' iPhone 4 - 7.1.2

I've just bought an iPhone 4.
I've created a new mail account and the mail icon shows 3 messages.
Touching the 'mail' icon brings up the usual list of mail services but my new account doesn't appear.
In 'Settings' my new account is there.
Why doesn't it show up in the 'Mail' list?
I just can't find out how to access/use this account - the user manual is no help.
Help appreciated

The new account is a personal account in my own domain.
'Mail' obviously recognises it as it shows the 3 messages

Account doesn't work on Mac Mail but does on iPhone

I have a IMAP email account with my company that works on my iPhone and in Entourage but doesn't work in Mac Mail. I have tried to copy the settings and even did a full erase and reinstall of Leopard and no one has an idea why it won't work, the hosting company or Pro Care. Any idea out there?

Hotmail account not working on Yosemite's Mail app

I've tried everything I've found on the internet so far trying to get my hotmail account to work the way it was before my update to Yosemite, with no success. A few days ago it stopped syncing messages properly, and now it just shows them as downloading but it never finishes the syncing.
I even left it working overnight with the mail app open, nothing else, prevented from going to sleep mode or shutting down, and it kind of worked, downloading some of the messages that were pending, but others just won't do it no matter what. I've tried Deleting the Account, restarting and Adding it again, also tried changing the imap server information to different options I've found, no difference.
I also tried Outlook for Mac with all my accounts, and the hotmail account seemed to work better which means the problem is between Mac Mail and the Hotmail account itself. The problem is I don't want to use Outlook for Mac because showed other problems with my Gmail accounts, which renders it unsuitable to handle all my mail accounts. Apple Mail was flawless until my update to Yosemite, not cool.
Does anybody have the same issue?

Apple Id on different mac account doesn't see App purchases

I have one Apple Id being used by one iPhone and one iPad
On the same Mac the iPhone is used under one Mac user account
The iPad is used under a different Mac user account, but the same Apple Id
If the purchases are linked to the Apple Id why is it that when I go into iTunes under the account used for the iPhone (no device connected) I can neither see or download the apps purchased using that Apple Id when using iTunes on the Mac user account used for syncing the iPad? Same Apple Id. This doesn't make sense to me as surely the device is authorized to the Apple Id on that machine. I can even see the purchases as a dated item in the account details within iTunes but cannot download them when using the other Mac account.
What's the go?

Here's what it says when I try to log in, WITH THE RIGHT PASSWORD AND EMAIL:

My Gmail account doesn't work anymore with Mail (the box is empty even after syncronization)

Since the update of Mavericks my Gmail account bugs a lot ! (also with the update for Gmail).
I tried to "re-build" the mail box, since it didn't work. And since I did this my Gmail box is empty, like I have no emails... I tried to sync but nothing happens.. I deleted and put again the account but nothing...
Can anybody help me with this?

If you go to http://icloud.com and go to the Mail app there, can you receive and send mail? If so, then the setup on your device(s) isn't working. Go to Settings (or System Preferences as applicable)>iCloud and sign out, then sign back in again.

Most folders not updating from hotmail account

Recently installed Outlook 2013 as part of Office 2013 Pro.
Have tried to set it up with my hotmail account. Only the Inbox, Sent Mail and Deleted Items folders sync. The remaining folders do not sync and display the message "We didn't find anything to show here."
Can someone please explain! How is it possible that Outlook does not or cannot download all my hotmail messages?!

How did you configure your Hotmail account in Outlook 2013? Generally, we configure Hotmail account in Outlook 2013 via Exchange ActiveSync protocol. We should type the following server in the Mail server field:
m.hotmail.com
Please first make sure you have configured your account correctly in Outlook.
If you have configured your account correctly, please also make sure the "Mail to keep offline slider" is not set to a short period. To check this, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings > double-click your account and check
if the slider is set to 1 month. If so, change it to All to see the result.

Connect mail icon to hotmail account

i currently receive the same emails thru both my the macbook mail icon and my hotmail account thru msn.
I would like to eliminate using the msn to retrieve my emails and just access mail thru the mail icon on the mac. The problem is it seems that when I delete or read or send emails from my hotmail account it doesnt carry over onto the mail icon on my macbook which makes me have to do double work on my mail icon. Could anyone help with this issue.

Hi, than you, tried this but unfortunately no change. The icon takes me to my hotmail account, I can see the messages but can do nothing with them.
