My mb seems to lose memory!!

hi.
actually i'm using my mb right now only with the adaptor,cause my battery was defectuous( it didn't charge!! so it wasn't recognised )
well,so maybe that could be the reason(?im asking?)why in iTunes or iPhoto,it has lost all my ancient memory,so all the photos i stored in there are gone(but not completly,i find them back in the harddisk) but the music and podcasts i really don'nt find them!!!
so has anyone had the same problem or could give me a tip please?
actually i realise now that even my changes in the safari shortcuts are all gone!!

If not, get Prosoft Data Rescue and an external Firewire hard drive to recover your data to. If anything is recoverable it should find it, unless you zeroed the hard drive at any point. For that, you'd need a data recovery firm (which costs a lot of money). In the future, always backup your data as my FAQ says:

The easiest thing to do is change it back. It is probably still sitting in HD/Users with the adjusted name. What happens when you change your short name (the name of your home folder) without making other requisite changes to your account information in NetInfo Manager is that the system creates a new home folder for you with the correct short name-this new home folder is based on the default template.
Look in /Users. Change the current home folder (should be your original name) to something different.
Then change the old home folder (which would have the name you changed it to) back to the original name.
Then log out.

Airport Express seems to lose connection after a while

My main wifi connection is through an Airport Extreme. The modem is connected to it. I also have in another room an airport express that I use as a bridge for my connection and also to use AirTunes.
Since a few weeks, the Airport Express seems to lose it's connexion after some use. It's always good in the morning, and after few hours, I realize I am no longer connected to the network. The airport light is always green, I see it in my disk utility, but I don't seem to be able to go online anymore. My solution at this point is to select my neighbor's network for few seconds, when I go back on my network, it works fine for an hour or so and I have to redo the process again.
The issue seems to be only with the Airport Express because when I'm in the other end of my house close to my Airport Extreme, I never have that problem.
Any idea what could be wrong with my Airport Express? Could it be a hardware problem? I just bought it 2 months ago. Should I go to exchange it?

My AirPort connection worked fine when I first set it up a couple of days ago; then it stopped working yesterday: it just gives me the blinking amber light.
Strangely, though, when I use Network Diagnostics in Safari, I get green lights against Airport, Airport Settings, Network Settings, and ISP, but red lights against Internet and Server.
How can ISP be working but not Internet and Server? Also, if I pull out the the cable going into the AirPort and plug it directly into the LAN port on the MacBook, it connects to the internet fine.
Any comments/help appreciated.

I upgraded to IOS 7 and seemed to lose my music ringtones but kept all my other music. Is that typical?

I seemed to lose my purchased ringtones from my device but I did not lose anything else in terms of apps and music. I did back it up before the upgrade.
Is this a known issue?

When creating a merged document the images seem to lose their quality

When I create a merged document, the images on the master pages seem to lose their quality, any thoughts why? Is there anyway I can prevent this.

Videoplayer seems to lose connection

Hi,
for a long time now I am searching for the right solution.
The mediaplayer is working very well, but after finishing the videoplay(complete event) and waiting a while (about 10 minutes) the player refuses to start again. When I set the videopath again everything works fine, but I cannot use my controlls like play or seek. I was not able to find the error. The only thing is, that the videoplayer don't finishes bufferung when this error occurs. The videos are called from FMS via RTMP. When I am not waiting this long time, I can use all my controlls when the video is finished.
I could set the videopath again like I said above, but I am not able to track the error situation to do so.
You may tell me where I have overseen something? Thank you very much.

thank you for your answer.
I added a netStatus listener and found out, that I don't get any codes except "NetConnection.Connect.Closed" when I change the VideoelEment. What I found out is, when I wait more than 10 minutes after playing finished and then try to seek within the video I get "NetConnection.Connect.Closed". Maybe the timeout event is missing or something?
Do I need to keep the connection alive by myself to remove this problem?

There is no NetConnectionFactoryEvent.CREATION_ERROR or MediaErrorEvent.MEDIA_ERROR event fired at the moment where the player seems to lose the connection. Even play calls don't cause any error.

Why do I lose memory every time I click on an app on my ipad2

Since I got my new iPad, I have been having a problem with the space on my iPad, I have only downloaded a few apps yet I still lose memory every time I click on the app. I first thought that it would be because I save new missions on games.... But I soon found out that if I just press the app and go straight of, it still adds more memory.why is it doing this and is there any way to stop it?

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

I am having the exact same problem with my iphone 5.
I took it back to the Apple store 2 days ago and they gave me a new one, but they told me not to restore it from backup cos if something (an app) is corrupted it will happen again. The only thing they could keep was my contacts cos they did something there that allowed them to transfer them to the new phone. I went home, and downloaded only ONE app (facebook), and guess what - THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURING ON THE BRAND NEW PHONE! It is driving me insane as I cant get through the day without my phone.

The message I have on the itunes wi-fi sync screen is "sync will resume when "computer name" is available. I know the computer is available because I am working on it and even opened iTunes. In addition, I verified the computer name was the correct computer name on this computer. So.... what would make it "not available"?

Bonjour seems to lose iPhone?

I've been having this problem ever since I got my SMCD3GN router and can't find a solution, but I'm not sure it's entirely the router.
I use Things (by CulturedCode) on my iMac to synch to my iPhone, and about an hour after I start my iMac, it seems to lose the Bonjour connection to my iPhone which I can see in Bonjour Browser.
For some reason, it's like the service stops or something. Is there a script or some way to reboot Bonjour services? Maybe it's happening because I'm using my iMac to stream to my PS3 (using Playback by Yazsoft) to watch TV and while I do that, the iMac goes to sleep, so that might be when it drops the iPhone.
Anyone else have this problem or something to help out with?

I now know that the problem lies between my iMac and the SMC router/gateway that Rogers makes you buy for DOCSIS 3.0. The only problem is that both Rogers and SMC say that it's the other guy's fault and neither want to help.

My Magic Mouse and Mobee charges seems to lose the connection every day. I've used it with no problem for about 6 months or so, no it keeps losing connection even after recharging overnight. Any ideas?

The problem seems to have just gone away.
I wrote to Mobee, and their answer is to take the batteries out, recharge and see if that does the trick.
Having been through this once before, and sending pictures along of the MM, which didn't help, it was just an oddball problem that has gone away.
I'll keep an eye on things.
I guess it's just one of those mysteries of Apple and the third party.

I lose memory from Macbook's hard drive after syncing iPhone

Today I synced my iPhone. My Macbook Pro had about 6 gigs of free space when I synced. During the sync, a message popped up saying my "Startup Disk" was low. I checked my memory usage after the sync and my 6 gigs of free space had shrunk down to less than 2 gigs.
I started checking the "Get Info" from my folders- especially Music where iTunes resides- and the updates to that folder totaled little over 1 gig.
I can't figure out what has been uploaded to my computer to cause it to lose 4 gigs of memory. Checking the "DATE MODIFIED" for each folder doesn't help. I can't find the missing memory. Has anyone else had this problem or figured out where that memory went?

Ah there it is! I don't understand why the Library wouldn't show up as being modified today even though it clearly was. That's the problem- I'm searching through my computer by date to find the modifications, but now its clear to me that's not the best way, apparently. Thanks for the help! Do you have any advice for the future on an easier way to find what may have been changed or added to my hard drive? I've always gone by "Date Modified" but that didn't help me today.

Gnome3 seems to leak memory until the system is unusable

I recently upgraded to Gnome 3. I've had a number of problems but am working on getting them resolved. Currently the biggest one is probably that the gnome-shell process apparently has a big memory leak as far as I can tell.
Right after booting it uses a fairly small amount of memory, but within a few hours it's usually at 1GB or more. About once a day I'll be in the middle of some game or something and the system will almost completely lock up and be unusable. I can't even get any programs to launch. At best, if I can actually get to the launcher, it will tell me "could not allocate memory" if I try to launch a terminal or system monitor, and it doesn't seem to want to let me switch off to different virtual terminals either. The only solution seems to be a hard reset when it does this, and when it comes back up and does a fsck it's always cleaning up a bunch of orphaned inodes. When it's locked up like this I can hear the hard drive going crazy reading and/or writing data, so my suspicion is that it's filling up my system memory then filling up my swap space, then everything starts falling apart and the system becomes unusable.
I googled for gnome-shell memory leaks and most people seem to report it only leaking like 200MB or something relatively small. What can I do here?

VERY SLOW iMac loses memory

My co-worker has an iMac G5 iSight 2.1GHz with 1.5 GB ram. She uses all the CS2 programs, Word, Mail, Safari, etc. All went well for 6 months. Then the slow down. She gets the beach ball and has to start closing programs to use even one at a time. She has Memory Stick installed to show her memory use and it starts gonging when she saves a photoshop document or tries to open an Illustrator document. Eventually, she has to restart during the day just to start over. It seems this computer is not handling memory well and won't release memory that's not being used anymore. I thought OSX was fixing this problem.
I have a G4 MDD dual 867 with 2 GB RAM and use MUCH MORE stuff than she does. I have maybe 15 programs open at one time and I NEVER have memory issues (same OS).
We've reset PRAM and SMU. We've repaired permissions. Is this all we're left with?

I don't have those issues with my G-5 imac or my G-4 933 either but I let mine run 24/7. I generally have 8-10 applications running at once. Resetting the PRAM will have zero effect and resetting the SMU won't do any good either but it was certainly worth a try.

Go to the Search screen an enter "camera". If the app appears then you have simply misplaced the icon. Look at all of your folders and pages of your Home screen, or, as a last resort, go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset home screen layout.
If the app does not appear that function has been blocked. Go to Settings/General/Restrictions. If it is enabled you will have to enter your Restrictions passcode.
If it is not blocked in Restrictions and you have a Corporate MS Exchange email account on your phone your IT department may have blocked the camera. If this is the case there is nothing you can do about it other than deleting the Exchange account and the associated security profile (in Settings).
