Same problem for me, it happened after 3 weeks.
I had to call Apple, althrough they couldn't solve the problem by phone.
Genius bar were full so they sent me to a local store.
Looks like it has something to do with the graphic card. It occured when I plugged my macbook to my iMac for screen the 1st time
11 days later I'm still waiting to get my macbook back. Hope you can get it faster!

I doubt that anyone here can answer that question with any validity...
That being said, try to reset the device:
*Device reset*
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

IPhone keeps shutting off every 30 minutes w/ full battery

Ever since I updated to 2.0, my iPhone has been randomly powering off completely.
The only way to turn it back on is to hold down the Home and Power (top) button for a few seconds, and then the Apple symbol comes up.
Any ideas?

I think I am having a similar problem. I have the new iPhone 3G.
My screen shuts off (the screen turns black, but the phone is still on...like if you shut the monitor off on a desktop PC while the tower is still on) randomly which requires me to do a hard reset (holding the sleep button at the top of the phone and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears).
This happens without warning when I do the following:
1. During a call, when I need to use the keypad, put a call on hold, activate speakerphone, etc. the screen will stay black and will not turn on when I touch it. This means I can't even end a call unless the caller hangs up. It is clear that the phone is still on (I can hear the caller at the other end), but I cannot use the screen at all. The screen comes back on when I put the phone back up to my ear, but then when I pull it away to touch the screen it goes black again.
2. After I complete a call, the screen will shut off before I can press the "end call" button. Even after the call is terminated from the other end, I cannot make the screen come back on.
3. After the screen automatically goes to sleep (goes black), I cannot make it come back on.
In all 3 of these instances, I use a hard reset to make the screen come back on. In the first instance that I listed, I have to do a hard reset during the call in order to disconnect the call and get the screen to come back on.
These problems do not happen during/after every single call. For example, sometimes it will be after one call, other times it will be after five calls. It happens without warning and without reason. It is very inconvenient because I am resetting my phone several times a day. When I call customer service lines (for any company), I can't use the keypad to do things such as "Press 1 for English" without doing a hard reset in the middle of the call and calling back several times until it works.
I would really appreciate it if you could offer some advice on how to fix this problem.

Hi Fran, I see the PM, but with this older machine connected via dial-up access to the message will be delayed until I am on my laptop at a compatible internet speed. My 'working' machine with Speedgrade is not connected to the internet.
I will try to respond here before my browser drops out and refreshes.
Speedgrade crashed on me numerous times consecutively, then I tried one more time and it worked fine. I was able to create my LOOKS, save and link back to Premiere Pro, where I have the similar problems as others. In Premiere things are slower then they were before the update. Just creating a multi-camera sequence is slow to move clips around on the timeline. Then to move edit points around is slow.
I do not need to go back to Speedgrade for awhile although I would like to if I knew it was stable. I need to spend my time in Premiere.
With my thoughts towards the whole update, I now am researching into my Samsung EVO 840 SSDs and the whole Performance Restoration firmware fix that Samsung has just released due to the read speeds deteriorating over time.
I wonder how many people have these EVO 840 drives and if the update triggered any unstability.
No, I have not tested my read and write speeds. I just know that it is another parameter where things could be going wrong. For me to run the Samsung fix means backing-up numerous TB of data as well as the operating system is a bit much to get into at present (as I have 5 EVO 840's).

Ringer "tune_FurElise" keeps going off every 5 minutes. Driving me and everyone around me crazy! This ringer tone has not been selected for anything and/or anyone's contact number. How do I stop this or how can I delete the Preloaded Ringer Tone "tune_FurElise"??? I have a BB curve 8330, I don't want to do a hard reset if I don't need to.

Mac Pro keeps shutting off randomly

Hey guys,
My Macbook Pro keeps shutting off randomly. Its been doing it for a few months now and I was finally able to restore it to factory settings to see if that would fix the problem but it hasnt. Sometimes it will shut off every five minutes, other times it will be maybe once an hour. I've noticed that it is more likely to shut off when I'm visiting youtube or watching a video/viewing a site with lots of pictures.
By "shutting off" I mean that the screen goes black and I have to hold down the power button until it completely turns off and then restart it.
When I turn my computer back on it sometimes has a reason for the problem, which I copied and pasted below:

some 15-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pros are known to have a defect in their NVIDIA GPUs. Given the symptoms which you’d described, yours might have that defect also. Apple had a gratis servicing program for three years from the MacBook Pro’s date of purchase; they still offer the servicing, but it is no longer guaranteed to be gratis. I’d recommend that you make an appointment at your nearest Apple store or Apple-authorized service center, to have them run their Video System Test on your MacBook Pro, which will confirm whether or not its NVIDIA GPU has the defect.

This is something you should log. Whenever your machine shuts off randomly, make a note of the time and what you were doing on your machine at the time. You may find that the shut downs aren't random at all. I had a similar problem with "random" shutdowns, and discovered that there was a power supply issue.

It sounds as if the button in the headphones is stuck and that is what is doing it. In the one wire of the headphones is a button to activate Siri. It is very possible something is wrong with that. Does the phone activate Siri all the time when the headphones are not plugged in? The headphones have the same warranty as the phone. Take the device with the headphones back to the Apple store and they can replace them.

First, try to do a full backup—reset—restore of your iPad via iTunes. (a) Plug in and, if it doen't start automatically, run iTunes, (b) back up your iPad, (c) do a total reset, (d) restore this last backup.
If this is enough, just go ahead and do it.

If this does not work, (and probably won't, but it's a 5-minute operation), then you should seek hardware assistance. If it's a brand (or almost) new iPad, go back to the shop and they will give you a new one, without much trouble... It use to happen with iPods and exchanging the product was routine in this shutoff—restart issue.

Phone keeps shutting off since upgrade to ios7

Phone keeps shutting off and I cannot turn it back on. After about 5-10 minutes it will turn itself back on.

Try resetting your iPhone:
Reset: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

My MBA keeps shutting off every 5 minutes. what is happening? I can't do any work done because of it. :(
