My Mdaughter got a ndew ipod and is missing some itunes she purchased.

My daughter got a new ipod and can't find some of her recent purchases.  How can I find out what she has purchased and get them back?

Hello, Annette.
This forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

i had a hp computer with my itunes account and it crashed.   i have a new hp with same itunes account but none of my music from my other computer is on this one,   how do i get that music on this one     i dont no alot about this stuff   thanks

You should copy the music from your old computer and put it on an external hard drive or flash drive. Then plug in that drive to your new computer and drop all the music into itunes from the drive on your new computer.
If you don't have access to your old computer, you will have to buy a recovery program that can copy the music from your iPod. I highly recommend iRip from "the little app factory". http://thelittleappfactory.com/irip/
The program is about $20 and it will save you from losing all your music. I have used it to save my massive music collective on my iPod classic when my old windows machine crashed. iRip also will let you grab 100 tracks for free off your iPod so you can see for yourself that the program actually works!
iTunes stores music in these directories:
    Windows: C:// ... /user/My Documents/My Music/iTunes
    Mac OS:  /User/Music/iTunes
    Hope this helps!

  • My pc crashed. I got it back up and running but my itunes music library is gone.  I have the music on my ipod but am afraid to sync new music in case it deletes all my music off my ipod.  How do I get the music back onto my library but not delete of ipod?

My pc had crashed several months ago.  I got it back up and running, however my itunes library with all the songs I purchased is gone.  I still have all songs on my ipod.  If I purchase new music from itunes and have it synced to my ipod will I lose all the music on my ipod?  Also is there a way that itunes can reinstall my music to my library?

  • My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends.  After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account.  I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account

Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over.  I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...

There is no such thing as a "sub-account."  Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account."  Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases.  iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account).  You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying.  You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend.  Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library.  Is that on a different computer?  How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod.  What is your "old iTunes"?  Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

  • I just got a new Ipod and had to update my Itunes to a newer version to use it. But now Itunes app will not open on my computer. What do I do?

I just got a new Ipod and had to update my itunes. Now my itunes will not open. I have a MacBook 4,1 with Mac OS X 10.6.8.

On your phone: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Should take but a minute & the phone will look just like it did when first taken out of the box.
If you're gonna use the phone on the same computer your son uses, read through this:

That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:

If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

Ok so sorry for clogging the community!! I figured it out - you have to copy your videos into itunes manually. I did that, synched and all good!

  • I got a new iPod and now I can't sync my apps from my old ipod

I got a new iPod and now I can't sync my apps from my old ipod?

Just what are you trying to do with the photos?
If the photos on the old iPod are in the iPod's camera Roll album then import them to your computer:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If they were synced to the iPod from another computer then you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView to import then into your computer.
Here is how to sync photos to the iPod:

  • Argh! Just got my new ipod and it doesn't work!

Well got the video ipod and oh great it doesn't work. I hooked it up to my computer and it showed up. So I just tryed going to into windows media player and syncing some songs. I only added about 500 songs or so just to tet it out. It showed that the space was taking up in the "about" thing but I could not play any of the songs because they didn't show up under the music section. I then tried it again but now my computer doesn't recognize it. I can't run a restore or anything because of that. Can anyone help?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Why are you using Windows Media Player?
Make sure that all of this is installed...
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
Also, you should be using iTunes to transfer music. See this...
Transfer Music to Your iPod (Tutorial)
Finally, if the iPod is not showing up in iTunes or iPod Updater (and those are installed and you have tried using them)...
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes for Windows
iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes

You could go hunting for a fair price on a refurbished or restored Intel-based Mac or MacBook, as most early models of CoreDuo and Core2Duo can run Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and some much more recent.
The Apple Store's Special Deals section that is online has some fairly recent examples of hardware with an OS, original accessories as noted, power cord, and complementary one year coverage. Eligibility for extended AppleCare plans are noted & may be available for various items in the store. Subject to availability. Refurbished. Like new. The price difference can be about the same as the additional two year AppleCare plan may cost, so get that too.
Third party repaired restored or available through other channels vary in quality, quantity, condition, and may be lacking in some or most original accessories; they should include basic hardware as originally equipped and have the boot-install software disc set as intended for that build model & year specification, included.
Auction sites rarely have that much of a kit together, w/ missing discs, scruffy, extra fees, etc. On the other hand, companies that restore and repair Macs for a living and are authorized Apple service centers may have something, if you aren't in the market for something holiday new or really quick. Older models if reasonably refurbished can still shine years later.
    Hopefully this helps somewhat.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Funds cannot be transferred from one Apple ID account to another.
