My Media Encoder CC grace period ran out - now stuck

Hey there forum-goers,
So my grace period for using Adobe Media Encoder CC expired some time recently while I was out of action due to illness. Upon trying to open the program it informs me I need a CC subscription - however I only need use of the program for about two to four days (holiday weekend, after all so may not have time). The caveat is a single month subscription is $75!!! Is there no other way to use this single program without forking over this insane amount? I have no need for anything else that comes in this "awesome package".
While speaking on the phone with an sales agent I was told I need the full plan to be able to access the Media Encoder CC, and they offered no alternatives or suggestions - sales being sales.
I did try my Media Encoder CS6 for the task but it doesn't have the quicktime formats I need, which is why I went and used M.E.CC in the first place.
I also asked for a brief extension to the trial but was told a big fat NO, which is unsurprising. Adobe gotta eat, after all.
So here I am asking for help from the community, because community is what I believe in and I'm sure someone has been in this or a similar boat before.

Are you sure that is media encoder CC though - because I tried the Media Encoder CS6 and it didn't have quicktime as an option, and downloading plugins and whatnot didn't seem to work. However I already have profiles and everything set up with Media Encoder CC so that is the one I need. If that is confirmed then surely 20 is far more manageable than 75.

It is amazing how just as the warranty on my Ipod touch runs out, it has started to shut down on me or freezes. Any ideas anyone?

If you restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem then you likely have an hardware problem and the Genius Bar is a good option.

  • Wallpaper defaults to 'Galaxy' after log out + now stuck on grey screen

    Hi all,
Hope someone can help with this one.
Basically, like many others, I've been trying to get around
the wallpaper problem that Lion has brought with it.
By this, I mean how if you change the wallpaper to a custom
image, as soon as you log out and back in it changes back
to the galaxy one from Lion.
So after searching the solutions on the forums I decided to
act on the following troubleshooting advice from a member
commenting on the problem... (advice I followed in bold)
One basic solution for this is to save your wallpapers in the HDD where you've installed the MAC OS X..
but I didnt want to save all my wallpapers in Native Mountain Lion HDD, so i figured out my perfect fix..!!
    This is how i fixed..
I found this file in my Lion install drive.. autodiskmount.plist
    Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist
If you can't find it on your OS X Install Drive then you can make one by typing
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="0.9">
    <dict>
    <key>AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin</key><true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
rename ur txt file to autodiskmount.plist
save this in your MAC OS X HDD
    Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist
    restart your system..
So... after following this advice I haven't been able to get my machine back on!
It just gets to the grey screen with apple and spinning wheel and goes no further.
    It won't even safe boot.
However I did manage to get to repair disk permissions via cmd+option+p+r.
But when I restarted it still wouldn't go any further than the grey screen/spinning wheel.
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Ben.

    Hi keithos27,
I have a macbook pro early 2011 15" like you, and unfortunately something identical happened to me: "... the computer went black and an audio was stuck on a loop over and over..." - "...grey screen on for a few minutes and eventually the computer's fan spins up and runs at full speed".
I followed the article mentioned too, but nothing solved the problem.
Eventually I took the mac to the local authorized service provider. It turns out that the problem is due to the notorious GPU failure of the 2011 macbook pro.
It means that unless I replace the entire logic board, I end up with a marvellous piece of aluminium...
This is my experience, I can't say that's 100% your case. I hope it isn't. Try to check at an apple store.
    Good luck!

  • Media Encoder CS4 won't update - Mac

I have CS4 and Adobe media encoder 4.1.0 will not update,
I have downloaded it via software update and then it installs and after a check of software update it asks me to update exactly what I just updated.
Does anyone know how I can sort this issue out?

    Hi Jagan,
    Thanks for the response.
After installing the CS4 Design Suite Premium, I moved all the apps/folders to a newly-created "Adobe" folder inside my applications folder. I always ran the Updater to check and download the updates. I didn't pay attention to the success of the updates, since they always ended with a dialog box that said "Finished". It's only when I noticed that it was downloading the Media Encoder update over and over again, that I got suspicious. When I looked in my Applications folder, The "Apple" folder I created was still there, but there was also a new "Media Encoder CS4" folder, which was not there before.
I deleted this new "Media Encoder CS4" folder and ran Updater again. Updater then downloaded the new version and installed it. Unfortunately, the Media Encoder CS4 in my "Apple" folder was not updated to the new version, but that duplicate Media Encoder CS4 folder was back
I browsed through the other messages here about update problems, and I decided to re-install the Media Encoder CS4. I trashed the duplicate folder and put in the DVD. In order to re-install the Media Encoder, I had to also re-install Flash CS4. I did so, then ran the Updater again (I did not change the location of any of the re-installed programs prior to the update). Lo and behold, Media Encoder was updated correctly! I continued the remaining updates to get my software back to the current versions. I thought I was home-free, but unfortunately I wasn't
Although Media Encoder was updated correctly, now Drive Manager and Acrobat Reader are not getting updated. The update installer says that the updates completed successfully, but when I run the Updater again, it identifies those same 2 programs as needing updates.
I downloaded the updates manually, but installing them did not update the programs.
If you have any other ideas, I would greatly appreciate it!

  • Premiere CC and/or Media Encoder audio bad renders

Occasionally, but not always, when I export a timeline to Media Encoder queue, the video renders out with no audio.
I have not found a repeatable way to replicate this, but when it happens, it really blows up my workflow.
    Typically I:
Import a ProRes 1080 clip into a fresh timeline, and only trim down the ends. Audio and Video playback great in premiere. I then, without changing anything, export to media encoder queue in h.264 1080p OR 720p (vimeo preset).
The queue runs and bang, video file with no audio.
My extended workflow is as such - once the h.264 file has arrived in the folder (it is a watchfolder), there are presets set to create OTHER Files - wav for CD, mp3 for podcast, DVD for distro, mp4 for podcast. So, as you can see, it snowballs into a trainwreck. I would also automate/schedule the podcast postings, but obviously I can't rely on media encoder/premiere to do it's job.
Has anyone experienced any lack of audio render issues? Is it tied to hardware at all, or is it just freak randomness? I even got to point to where I reboot the machine right before each original capture begins, but the error is always in the first render out of premiere.
I have checked for any muted tracks and such, and there are none. As I said, it is VERY random. For instance, this week, I dropped the capture into a timeline, exported as usual, and got a bad render. Did it again, this time moving the audio down a track. Still a bad render. Rebooted the Mac, tried it all again, and finally got a working render. This is the first time it has happened TWICE in a row, and I'm getting tired of it, as these renders are fairly long.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    - Ben

Ben, I'm having the same issue.  Never had it before yesterday.
I'm editing on CC with R3D's.  I have 8 tracks of audio.  When I'm exporting (either through Encoder or through Premier) I'm getting a final product that has no audio, and in its place a loud clicking sound.  I performed a number of reboots and got it to export once.  But I've tried dozen's of times now and can't get audio to export through this sequence.
When I go to render the project I'm getting an "Error Compiling Movie.  Unknown Error" message.   I suspect that's related.  Not sure what's happening.  I'm going to keep testing.  I'll let you know if I discover anything.  But it is VERY FRUSTRATING:(  Deadlines are looming.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC renders do not reflect changes to Dynamically Linked After Effects Comps

When rendering a Premiere timeline with a dynamically linked After Effects composition, Adobe Media Encoder will sometimes use an older version of the linked composition (even after I have saved changes in the After Effects comp).
For example, if I correct a spelling mistake on some text in After Effects, save the composition, and then add the sequence to the render queue in Premiere, the final output from media encoder still has the old spelling.
If I do a straight export from Premiere instead of adding to render queue, the output is always correct. I've noticed this problem on several different Windows 8.1 systems.
All versions of the software are up to date as of today.
Why is this? Is it something to do with the disk cache in After Effects? Does media encoder have it's own cache that I need to clear?

Hi, I've been having this same issue.  Here are some additional things I've noticed about it:
Changes are reflected properly when played back on timeline in Pr CC 2014.
Happens regardless if the dynamic link file was rendered or not, thus deleting the render files does not fix the issue.
The issue can persist through saving, closing, and reopening both AE and Pr.
I'm using OSX 10.9.4, so this is not just a PC issue.
Other than manually watching for every change to be reflected in the render, there is no way to know a problem has occurred.  Needless to say this can be incredibly costly.
Please address this quickly, it's completely unacceptable that what we render out could be a different version from what we see on the timeline.
PS Some additional things I will be testing:
Does the issue persist through closing all CC apps, including Media Encoder.
Does rendering directly out of Pr, i.e. not using Media Encoder, fix the issue.

  • Can't reinstall media encoder CC (Windows)

    Hello There & Help!
I deleted media encoder cause it was working incorrectly, now it no longer is there.
Reinstalling Premiere pro CC dose not reinstall media encoder.
    Really? Why no seprate download.
    Any way to reinstall it?
    P.S
    Samuel

Yes, I wouldn't recommend deleting that folder. You should restore it from Recycle bin if it's still there.
Here is how you can get AME back on your system if AME folder is no longer in recycle bin:
    - Copy and paste the AME folder from another computer that has AME (you can install the trial)
    ------------- or --------------------------------------
    -   Deactivate PPro and other apps through Help -> Sign out (this way you don't lose your license)
    -   Uninstall PPro, AE, InDesign, and Flash Pro
    -   Run the CC Cleaner Tool (find it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html)
    -   Install PPro again.
    Good luck

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5 doesn't work anymore (WHY? WHAT's WRONG?)

The system I use is Adobe Production Premium CS5.
I have often used Adobe Media Encoder CS5 started from the export of a film sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
On the 31st of December 2013 my computer crashed and dumped more or less at the end of a process of Adobe Media Encoder CS5. There was no complete output.
Since then this program Adobe Media Encoder CS5 cannot start up anymore.
It stops at the start-up saying that the program does not work anymore and that there will be looked for a solution. But then it finishes saying that it will be reported if a solution becomes available in the future.
    I have tried the following:
    - Run Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (exe) from directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5 => same problem.
    - Stop security control AVG while not online with internet => run Adobe Media Encoder CS5 => same problem.
    - Reinstalled complete Production Premium CS5 suite => same problem.
    - Removed complete directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5 and then reinstalled Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 => the full directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5 with contents was there after the install, but subsequent running of Adobe Media Encoder CS5 => same problem.
    - Removed complete contents of D:\mediacache\database\Media Cache and D:\mediacache\Media Cache Files => same problem.
What more can I do ??????
I would be very grateful for a solution.
    Regards, Arie de Jong, Rotterdam

    Hi Jim,
Thank you very much for the suggestions for a solution. First I considered
    re-installing Win 7 Pro, because I did not have a fall-back point
predefined. So I could not try to reload a previous system environment. But
    for your information the following.
Yesterday my son suggested that there could be some corruption in a control
file of Adobe Media Encoder, because re-installing that program did not
give a solution. Obviously that then would have to be a file which is not
    affected by a program re-install.
What he then did for me is to remove directory
Users\owner\ AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder    (he actually
renamed it to hide that directory for Media Encoder).
Thereafter we ran program Media Encoder from Premiere. The result was that
a new directory ......\ Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder with proper
control files was automatically generated and the problem was solved.

  • Media Encoder 6.0.3 : Unable to read from the source

    Hi !
I'm using Premiere and Media Encoder in tandem for a while now for a big project, but since last week, something screwed up and I can't export from Media Encoder anymore. Every time I try to encode with Media Encoder, it tries to conect to the Dynamic Link server, and then fails to do so, and shows the error in the title. And since I cannot encode directly in Premiere (it just doesn't work, but that's nothing new), that means my project is on hold until the problem is fixed...
I googled my problem and find some solutions. I tried to create shortcuts to Premiere in the dynamiclink and the Keyfiles/dynamiclink folder, but that didn't work.
I uninstalled and reinstalled CS6 two times (the second time with the CC Cleaner Adobe provides to clean after uninstalling CS6), but that changed nothing.
I tried to unlock the permissions to the folders of my project, but that didn't help to solve my problem.
Now I'm out of ideas, so I post here, hoping for an answer. I'm almost certain the problem is from the Dynamic Link with Premiere, as the link between Premiere and After Effects doesn't work either (anything not related to Premiere works well though, After Effects can link with Media Encoder, but Premiere won't. The file is still being transfered to Media Encoder, but it can't start the encoding).
I previously had CS5.5 on my computer (and maybe CS4, but I don't remember), but I'm almost sure all of them are all wiped now, with the CC Cleaner and all.
I should mention that I'm using these softwares as part of the CS6 Master Collection (everything is up to date according to the Application Manager) on a Windows 7 x64 hardware

Update : I created a new account on my computer to test if the problem still occurs. And surprisingly, it doesn't occur... I'm able to use the dynamic link properly, and all is up and running.
It works as a workaround for now, but I would seriously like to solve the problem on my main account. So something is wrong on my main account. I checked my firewall, but that seems okay (no results even when my firewall is deactivated).
I should mention that the path Media Encoder use to link with Premiere has non-ASCII characters in it (such as é, è, etc.). Could that be the cause ? If so, how can I change that path ? (currently to User/<username>/AppData/Local/Temp). Is there an option, or even an environment variable for that ?
I've also noticed that the file created for the cache on my main account is slightly smaller than the one on my test account (749 ko on main and 778 ko on test). This should be the same file, so the weight should be the same... Could it be some kind of corruption that prevents dynamic link for working ?

  • Export to Media Encoder Changes the Aspect Ratio

    Hi,
How can I create an animation at a ratio of 720x576 (or any other size) without Premiere Pro changing it the moment I send it to export to make the animation?
I have a brief for an animation at 720x576, I have created a sequence of images for the animation - at 720 x 576 - I have created a sequence in Premiere Pro CS4 at a size of 720x576 -  it looks okay except for vertical black bars at either side - but the moment I export it to the media encoder and it renders it out - the image is all crunched up as if the height is 720 and the width is 576 - wrong!
(P.S. I used Premiere Pro CS2 at Uni and it was fine because I could tell Premiere to use or not use Square Pixels and I could tell it a custom pixel ratio and it would do as I said - CS4 seems to ignore me or just not give me any of the options I need.)
    Help?
I have searched in Faq's and around the Forum but found nothing that seems to relate to my problem.

As Ann states, if one gets letterboxing, or pillarboxing, there is a mis-match. It can be in the Aspect Ratio, (pixel x pixel dimensions of the Frame Size), or the PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio). These MUST match 100%. If you have Square Pixels in your animation, then you MUST choose Square Pixels in your Sequence setting. If you do not find an exact match in the normal Presets, you will want to choose Desktop, where you CAN adjust almost all attributes for the Sequence to match your source footage.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Load a F4V into Media Encoder

I have a F4V made using Flash Media Encoder Live. I ran it throught the production command prompt software converting it to a single moof atom file. The songle moof atom F4V plays in Flash Media Player and Flash but will not load into Media Encoder CS4. I am trying to convert it into a FLV using Adobe Media Encoder. Anyone know what I need to do to make this happen?

  • CPU Usage Question between Premier and Media Encoder

    Hey guys,
Here is the question. I just built a new machine with the following specs:
    Intel i7 2.66GHz process overclocked to 3.2GHz
    12GB Memory
    Nvidia 260 Overclocked video card.
When I export a video from Adobe Premier into Media Encoder, all 8 cores peg out at 100% and thus my CPU temp get hot really quick (78 - 80 degrees Celsius)
Now if I take the same original video file and just drag it into Media Encoder, my 8 cores only show about 24-40% usage and the temp only gets to around 55-60 degrees Celsius.
What is causing such a big difference in CPU usage? I'm afraid to use Adobe Premier as it causes the CPUs to max out everytime. I want to edit my videos, but as stuck with just using AME on the original files.

I suspect its simply because in the first case Pr and AME are both running. In the later, just ame loading the Pr project. In the forst case two projects are running simultaneously, the one in Pr and a temp copy in AME.
But more troublesome to me is why youve built a system that cant be maxed out. IN editing, we Want the CPUs to peg to process as fast as possible. IMHO; You should re-think the design of your workstation if it overheats so easily.

  • How do I purchase Adobe Media Encoder CC

Hi I am trying to purchase Media Encoder but everytime I select 'buy now' it brings me to the cloud membership purchase page and I cannot find the application in the drop down list.
    Thanks for the help

You can not purchase AME as a stand alone application.  If you purchase Full CC membership that includes all applications, AME will get licensed.  If you don't want to purchase Full CC that has all the apps and you only want to purchase a single app, you can purchase Premiere Pro which will also install and license AME.  AME is passively licensed application which means it require either full CC membership license or license to one of the Video applications such Premiere Pro or AfterEffects.
