My memory card slot is not working

i use a hp pavilion 15-e016TX when i insert a memory card into d slot nothing happens it neither opens nor reads d memory card is it a software or hardware issue

see part 1.
I am a Volunteer to help others on here-not a HP employee.

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded OnyX and ran the cleaning function. After restarting, I opened Help and once again the first screen appeared fine. But again most of the links did not work, though those under the "What's New" heading did work. I might add that I had previously tried a variety of suggestions posted in another thread, which included deleting from the caches folder in Home>Library several files such as com.apple.helpui and help.plist in the Preferences folder. (As noted in my previous post this evening, I also created another user but that also did not have any effect.) Any other ideas? Thanks

Please go to Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Download, choose on drivers download page your notebook model and there you will find this driver. Click on the small red symbol at the right side to pick up info what it is.
Without many questions try to download and install this driver to see if this will help to make your flash card slot to work properly. You cannot do anything wrong.

I was downloaded drivers and installed in my laptop, but when i'm inserting memory card in to slot it is not showing any message in my laptop. But Green LED is blinking.

Although the best way to read your memory card, memory card readers can be a pain. I've had a few I've just thrown out. Make sure the USB connection to the port is fully seated. Make sure the memory card is fully seated in the reader. Do you have an SD card because the reader in the iMac is by far the most reliable I've used.

As you can see, the notebook is able to read max 2GB SD card.
The card reader will not read bigger SD cards.

Well I have finally managed to get the card in after much jiggling and shoving. I think the mechanism must have been stiff.

USB ports and memory card slots not working

My Pavilion a6120n desktop has worked brilliantly ever since I purchased it. As of last week the 2 usb ports in the front and the 2 unused usb ports in the back have stopped working. My printer is plugged into one rear port and my wireless mouse is plugged into a second rear port and these work fine. I generally use a memory stick for data swapping or the card reader slots (which have also stopped working). I no longer see the memory card icons in the "Computer" window. When installing something new the "New Hardware Found" statement pops up but the driver install always fails. I think it is a software issue but there are no usb drivers to download on the HP/support site that I can find. . . so . . . Below is what I have tried so far.Run antivirus software. Full scan & memory scan - no issuesRun malewarebytes full scan - no issues I have tried restarting several times with no success. Restore to several previous restore points = failedRestarting computer in repair mode = failedRun the repair disk that I had made = failedChecked the power management for each usb port to see if the power was routed properly = okRemoved the case cover and carefully inspected the wiring and connectors.finally I tried uninstalling the usb drivers = failed Upon restarting the computer the last time the startup file must have failed and after several hours of attempting a repair I had to reinstall the Window 7 completely. Inspiron 1520: memory card reader doesn't work in Windows 8

I upgraded my daughters Inspiron 1520 to Windows 8 and everything works well. The only problem we are having is the memory card reader does not work. Windows 8 recognizes it and shows the action center flag and advises us to install a new driver.. We install the driver R188776.exe, install it, and re-boot, but the memory card reader still doesn't work.. Is there another driver we can install?

Did you ever get this problem figured out? I had two hardware devices indicating problems when installing windows 8 on my 1520. It asked if I wanted to use it since I already had a newer driver in installed and I did it anyways. No more flags in device manager. Hope it helps.

Hi, this is my first time on here so forgive me if I don't give all of the right information, I will try. Until about a month ago my dvd player and SD memory card slot worked fine. I was attempting to download pictures from the SD memory card to my laptop when for some reason it not only stopped reading the memory card but it erased it also. I tried to watch a movie on it to see if it was working and it is not. I checked the computer to see if I could manually turn it on and neither the memory card slot or the dvd player show up at all. Is this a driver problem and if so how do I fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Linda

I have struggled with the same thing, until about 1/2 hour ago....And its real simple. I'm not a techy but here's what worked for me.
Since Lenovo doesn't send boot discs you are going to have to create one. I went to http://www.ntfs.com/boot-disk.htm and downloaded the trial version - good for 10 days. If this works for you then you should buy the software (that goes w/o saying).
Once loaded to your machine you will need to create a DVD (CD may work as well, all I had was DVD's handy). Just lauch the application and it will do this for you.
Then you need to insert the DVD/CD into your player and restart the machine.
Once lauched the Software will lauch the Active@ Boot Disk menu. One of the options (going from memory here) was to give you a windows prompt. I simply typed c: and took me to the C drive. Then I typed chkdsk /f c:
I was then told my c drive was locked (sounds familiar I bet) but this time I was given the option to dismount the volume which I did. And it finally ran chkdsk, found and corrected all errors.
I rebooted my machine, launched diskeeper, and guess what - I can finally defrag my harddrive now which is sorely overdue!

I have a Nokia C5 03 from the last 8 months.....
Working very well.
Recently, my memory card stopped working.
I thought that there might be a problem in the memory card and bought a new one.
Even though i inserted new card in my phone, i am getting the same error.
In file manager it is displaying as "Memory card Corrupted."
I have checked the new memory card by inserting in to another phone which was working normally.
There i have even formatted the new memory card and again inserted into my c5.
Then also i am getting the same error message........
Can any one suggest me what to do in this regard??????

Have you also tried inserting the old memory card to another phone as well? What happened after inserting it to another phone? If it's working properly with another phone, the memory card slot of the C5-03 might have an issue so you should bring it to the repair facility to have it checked.

If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.

Tun miniport adapters are not working and the camera card reader is not working on a T61P.

The Microsoft tun miniport adapters #4,2, and 3 are not working. They display code 10 error message. Also the USB mass storage device (camera card reader) is not working.
I have tried to uninstall and update the drivers to no avail. I have used ThinkVantage Tool Box. It only lets me know that they are not working. It does say to reinstall them. I have tried. All effort has failed.
All was find until I ran several updates via ThinkVantage.
All suggestions would be appreciated.

Whether you are trying to use a Credit Card or Redeem a Gift Card... My understanding is that you have to be within the US to use the US Store and have a valid US Billing Address.
