My menu bar is not visible until I click on Finder

Can't be sure if this started after 10.6.5, but my menu bar wld sometime not appear (after login) until I click on the Finder. Help!

That piece of weirdness showed up in 10.6.0 and has continued. It happens to me on fairly rare occasions, to my brother somewhat more often. Since a simple click "fixes" it I've never bothered to investigate further or file a bug report. If it really annoys you, you could report it to Apple here:

Actually, it seems to me that it is happening even less often now than it was initially.

While I am in Firefox, it appears that I am in Full Screen mode, as my Menu Bar is missing while in the application, but when I looked up how to troubleshoot, it told me to click on the Full Screen mode button (with diagonal arrows) but it is not visible anywhere in my browser. Computer starts up but HD and Menu bar are not visible?

Recently my Powerbook G4 began to act strangely and either freeze or slow way down for the first time in its four years of use. I have a new IMac to replace it. Here is my current problem:
I'm trying to copy over some files via Firewire. I start my powerbook in target mode. Its icon appears on my new imac and I start to copy over. Midway through copying, I dragged an open window to a different place on the screen of my new computer, and the copy stalled/froze. I couldn't drag the target HD icon to the trash to shut down my powerbook properly, so I held down its power key and it turned off.
Now, when I try to restart the powerbook in target mode, its icon wont appear on my new computer's desktop, though the 'I'm in target mode' screen saver bounces around on my powerbook.
When I try to boot up my Powerbook to shut it down properly on its own, it starts up, but the stuff I have stored on my desktop, including the HD icon, don't appear. Neither does the menu bar, so I can't shut it down that way. The dock appears, as does the photo that I use for my desktop image. I can click on dock applications, and they do the bouncy thing, but they don't open.
Any ideas? Thanks very much to anyone who can help!

And how did Single User Mode work out?
If you can't start it up in SUM or from an installer disc, put it in FW Target Disk mode again and see whether Disk Utility on the host Mac can see it to make repairs. DU may be able to see the drive even if it doesn't appear on the desktop of the host machine.
My guess is that by disconnecting it improperly in FWTDM (not that you had much choice under the circumstances), you well and truly hosed the hard drive.

My menu bar is NOT transparent!?

So, what's the deal here. My menu bar is NOT transparent. The only thing I can think may be causing this is that I have a second monitor running on an ATI card through the PCI slot. Seems weird to me that the menu bar would go solid because of the presence of a second monitor but that's really the only thing that comes to mind. Anyone else seeing this? I know that a lot of you would like to dump the transparent menu bar so maybe I shouldn't complain. That said, I'd really like to know what's going on here.

I definitely don't hate it. I actually don't mind it at all. Don't love it... don't hate it... it is what it is I guess <g>. I never gave it much consideration until I saw all the hate threads
The background I was using before taking the screenshot was black at the top anyway, so maybe that made a difference in my not really paying it much mind.

I still can't find a solution. Changing the parameter wmode:transparent works for .swf files but .flv files do not have the option to add this parameter. If you add it in the script manually it doesn't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I cn't find any solution online.

Safari: Will NOT Open and Menu Bar will NOT Respond to input

Srpy menu bar will not display

Was working away on modifying a spry menu bar when all of a
sudden the menu bar will not display. Tried creating a new page and
inserting the menu bar and still will not display. Won't even
display in previous pages created.

When I insert a SPRY widget into my document the Javascript
and CSS files that construct and determine the appearance of the
widget are automatically placed into a folder called SpryAssets. My
document is housed in a different folder. Thus, I must exit the
folder in which my document is contained before entering the
SpryAssets folder. When I read your href attribute it appears that
your SpryAsset folder and your document are located in the same
directory folder. If this is true, then I do not understand why
your widget does not appear.
I can offer two additional suggestions, and then my knowledge
of what might be wrong is exhausted:
1) If possible insert the widget again using a previous
version of your document in which the widget has not already been
inserted.
2) Always make sure that your document has been saved at
least once before inserting a SPRY object. This will insure that
everything is properly linked when the widget is inserted.
In the meantime, maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will
be able to help.

Menue bar does not drop sometimes when in Safari Mountain Lion

When in Safari on Mountain I have had a few occassions where the menue bar will not drop down to close Safari

However, if I click on it and open Date & Time and do nothing more, it adjusts to the current time but still doesn't work as the seconds aren't advancing. I close Date & Time but the clock stays highlighted/selectted, which is also strange.
Any suggestions as to how to get my clock running again?

Not certain, but I'd try this...
You've probably got a couple of corrupt preference files.
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions...

/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist
where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.
This will reset your Menu Bar to the default, you'll need to go through System Preferences to reset the ones you need. (If they are already checked, uncheck them first and then recheck them).

FN key menue bar does not appear on Satellite R

PROB-1: i bought this Lap before 4 months.. suddenly my FN key is not working... that is, if i press FN key, menu bar does not POP OUT, but if i hold FN key and press F7 or F6, the screen brightness is changing.
I got this in Saudi Arabia, the key board also have Arabic font (which i really dont want).
PROB-2: If i want to type "@", i have to press ' Shift+" ' instead of ' Shift+2 '

The FN button row which appears at the top of the display is controller by Flash Card Support Utility.
Go to All Programs -> Toshiba -> Flash Cards and restart this software.
If this does not help, then reinstall this tool.
Prob2:
I assume you keyboard language setting does not match with the keyboard layout.
Simply change the keyboard language setting.
I assume you will need to change this to English (United state)

Could you do the following please.
In the location bar at the top, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter
In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following setting:

If the figure on the right is a single number, or a minus figure i.e. '''-1''', right click it, choose '''Modify''', remove the current setting and replace it with the figure "'''12'''".
Then close Firefox and restart it again.
I went to Google Maps, but as you can see from the screenshot, directions appear to be working.

I'll assume your profile is wrong (10.4.7?) and you are using Lion in full screen mode. If so click the double arrows in the menu bar which should appeare if you mouse into the menu bar area.
If that isn't the case then are you zoomed in? Contol + fingler drag on mouse (or scroll wheel) zooms in or out (see Mouse preferences, Screen Zoom, look at the little movie).

Somehow your bookmarks that normally appear on the separate Bookmarks Toolbar (the part on the left) got onto your main Navigation Toolbar. To move them back, return to Customize mode and drag "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the Bookmarks Toolbar. Then click Done and hopefully that will stick.

Some updates and clarifications:
1. I already have my 2.4 channel fixed.
2. Wireless network name is 8 alphanumeric characters; no spaces
3. Already using WPA2 security with a 10 alphanumeric key (again, no spaces)
4. I am running Airport Utility 6.0, Mac OS version 10.7.4
I should also say that these problems started happening less than a month ago...prior to that all devices where working normally.
An added update: My two e-readers (nook ST and Kindle 3) are also refusing to connect...perhaps confirming that I have 2.4 GHz issues?
