I thought that my account had been hacked and that might be the reason I could not get my 2 different e-mails. Also, at the same time this happened, I could not get into Internet Explorer. I could still get into and use Open Office during the above problems

Thank you for the info re. the main menu. Your answer I used worked; however, the menu bar all the way across is solid black. The only way I can find out the names on the menu is to point the cursor from left to right over the black bar to find "file" "edit" tools", etc. What do I need to do to get these menu titles to be seen?
As regarding the GMail --the menu bar used to have an envelope symbol which was white and outlined in red. That disappeared. I googled "mail.google.com" to try to get back my email. This didn't work. I then tried to get a different email address and password--after 8-19 attempts, this never worked. My other email (sbcglobal.net) has never returned. So I don't know where that went or how to get it back

Right clicking on your ipod in the device list an d choosing "transfer purchases" will copy apps and bought media from iTunes to your computer. Due to the new iTunes library on your new HD, iTunes will erase your ipod during the first sync. To save your data to the computer take a look at this article about saving data from your device to a computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
Basically it's backing up manually, transferring her purchases (apps and bought music), letting iTunes erase the ipod due to the new iTunes library, and restoring from the manual backup again, to get all the data and settings back.
Make sure your new computer account is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

Key snapped off and I don't know how to put it back on!

I noticed my left key was hard to press so I snapped it off knowing other computers can snap them back on.

It's a bit tricky and I don't know how to describe it, put it's possible..
It's not only to press it on its place again, you have to move it a bit from above
Even trickier are the big keys ( I needed half an hour to do it with the Backspace-Key )
They have some fragile mechanics on the downside, which you have to explore to find
a way to put them on the keyboard again.
When I have some crumbs below the keys now, I first try to blow them away with a blade of straw.

I like to keep my bookmarks as a sidebar and I don't know how to put it back on.

Before you made changes to the program there was a view button that I could click to view my bookmarks as a sidebar. I can't find how to do that now. It made things so much easier.

There are a few different things may have been changed...???
Go to: System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing tab and (1) make sure that Display is set to Black on White then (2) set Enhance contrast to Normal.
Go to: System Preferences > Display > Color tab and select the iMac Calibrated (the factory default) Display Profile.

Does Firefox switch to full screen if you press F11 ?
You can also try the F10 key to see if that brings up the menu bar.
