My menu highlights are blurred. Can anyone help please?

I am trying to create a DVD menu with buttons that are highlighted by stars. When I create the custom shape stars in Photoshop they seem good and I apply turn them into buttons that highlight. When I open them in Encore they appear extremely pixelated. Does anyone know why or how I can fix this please?

They have no effects applied but they are fairly small stars. I don't know how to increase the pixel size. I am not very good with Photoshop and Encore is a nightmare to me at the moment. They look ok in Photoshop but Encore hates them
First, use an Encore template menu to help you get oriented. Look at the size of highlights and small images. So, for example, add the Sunset menu to a test project. Now "edit in photoshop." (See image below.) Look at the layers inside one of the button groups (e.g. "play movie"). I have circled visibility being off on one of the highlight layers - the other layer I have turned on so I can see the highlight symbol in PS. Zoom in, and see how anything other than straight up and down lines get pixelated. That's just the nature of pixels. Some tiny highlight symbols are not going to look right. Some text won't look right.
Second, if you can find an Encore template image that works for you, try that.
Third, if you are going to create your own images in Photoshop, yes, there is a learning curve. You can scale vector images (which are now available in PS), but you have to be careful scaling images up that are fixed.

Can't download my free Photoshop - Internet & firewall are OK - can anyone help please?
My computer is telling me that it was unable to reach Adobe servers, and hence it cannot download my free trial of Photoshop CC. My Internet and Firewall settings are all OK. Can anyone suggest what I should do please?

When I press the iTunes button on my ipod touch I get the message 'cannot connect to iTunes store' . My wifi is working fine, I can connect to safari & you tube, no parental setting in place, and time and date are correct. Can anyone help please? I have restored my ipod to factory settings and rest it.
I also tried moving the date forward by a year and then moving it back to normal and it still doesn't work. i can't find an automatic update of time zones on my itouch to turn this off.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

When I try to back up my Mac Book Pro to an external hard drive some of the files are backed up but not all files are backed up. I don't understand. Can anyone help please?
I've used time machine in the past and couldn't get to the bottom of the problem so I've recently downloaded and am using carbon copy cloner and I get the same problem. The files that are missing are just word and number documents. Seems so odd.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

I'm using proxy media for a video I'm editing but now that i switch back to the original media some of my effects are missing can anyone help me.
Shouldn't happen.Only thing I can think of suggesting is to delete render files and try again. Trashing preferences is a long shot, but no harm in trying. Use the Digital Rebellion Preference Manager, a free download.
Assume you have a reason for using such an outdated version of FCP X. That may be contributing to your problem.

Overdrive media are not iTunes purchases so they do not transfer with:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Overdive media are copy protected so you can only read them via Overdrive. I do not understand what you mean by free books and are now paid. Overdrive are typically books for a public library.
You can try looking on your iPod via a third-party program like PhoneView, Touch copy or the free program iFunBox -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Go to your iPhone/iPad home screen and tap Settings.
Scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap Add Account.
Scroll down and tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
Put the name you want people to see when they get mail from you in the Name field.
Enter your BT Business username in the Address field. For example, [email protected] or, where you have registered a custom domain, [email protected]
Enter your BT Business password in the Password field.
In the Description field enter the name you want to use to identify the account.
Tap Next. If you get an error message at this point, tap OK.
Make sure that POP is selected at the top of the screen.
In the Incoming Mail Server section, change the Host Name to pop.outlook.com.
Scroll down to the Outgoing Mail Server section and change the Host Name to smtp.outlook.com.

It sounds like your your photos that you take on your phone are not showing in your iPad Photo Stream.
I would check both devices to make sure that they both have Photo Stream turned on in the iCloud settings.

I imported photos to iPhoto or Aperture from my camera, but I do not see them uploaded to the My Photo Stream album, though the service is enabled.
In iPhoto or Aperture, navigate to Preferences > Photo Stream. Ensure that Automatic Upload is enabled under My Photo Stream and that you have an active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
If Automatic Upload is not enabled, you can either enable it and import again, or manually add the newly imported photos to My Photo Stream in iPhoto or Aperture by dragging them into the My Photo Stream album in your Library.
