My mic for skype all the sudden starts being very queit i am talking to my friend and he is saying he can not hear me I used the skype call thing to see for my self and somtimes i can hear my self but very very very queit i use windows 8.1 and desktop mode PLEASE HELP THIS IS AGRIVATING ME

I had the same problem. The webcam will not work in an application (ie - browser) if another application is using it. Therefore, do not launch any webcam software before going online. Instead, go to ChatRandom (or, I assume, whatever site you want to use) and let that site enable your camera.

This is not what I had expected from Apple Support. I am using Apple products such as , iPad, iPhone 4S, MacBook Air, and iTouch 5, had not experienced any defect as of date. My purchased were from NY/USA, SAUDIARABIA, UAE. But this defective Iphone5 has given me a tough time with Apple India Support.
    As I know that Apple products are deteft free, but whenever any defect arised a replacement would be provided while under WARRANTY. My iPhone 5 is just a few days old, and has International Warranty, which I had confirmed, while purchasing in HONGKONG. 
    I WANT THIS DEFECTIVE PHONE BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY AS THIS HAS CAUSED ME MENTAL AGONY, WASTE OF TIME, ENERGY, AND ALL THIS AFTER PAYING A BIG SUM IN DOLLARS.

    The warranty on the iPhone has never been international.  Read it. You'll see that for yourself.
    Take it back to the country where you purchased it if you want it replaced under warranty.
    By the way, you're not talking to Apple. Posting personal information in a public forum is NOT smart.

    Try plugging the headphones in and gently wiggling them around for a few seconds. It may be that the sensor that tells the iPhone that headphones are plugged in has gotten stuck. If this doesn't work, they try a reset (hold down Sleep/Wake and Home all the way until the Apple logo appears on the screen).

The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?

    The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

  • IPhone 6 Plus mic/earpiec not working.

    A tiny drop of water went down into my earpiece 2 weeks ago and i kept sucking out the water and i left it over night in a bag of rice. The next day the earpiece was working perfectly fine but the mic for the front facing camera, facetime, siri and voice dictation is not working. Every time i try to take a video using the front facing camera all what i hear is a muffling sound. Is this an earpiece issue? Should i change the earpiece? IS there a mic inside the earpiece?

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a known bug or am I just not doing something right here? i never had an issue before the iOS 8 release. Any help would be appreciated.

    My iphone camera was broken and i tried to replace it with a new one but the problem persist, and the mic is not working properly
    That when i receive a phone call or when i call someone my iphone mic work sometimes and stop others and i discovered that by tapping on
    The back of the iphone it work, and meanwhile i can use the mic for recording voice memos or for using viber or any software using the mic
    And it works very good, only in phone calls it stop working and by tapping on the back it work again,

    Thanks for the reply but yes it does record voice memo because there are 2 mics 1 on top and 1 on bottom.
    the one that is using for making phone calls is the bottom one.Therefore top 1 is good but bottom is not.

  • The mic is not working on skype, and its not muted

    Every time my sister or myself go to use Skype on the IMac, the mic does not work, we can hear the person on the other end but they can not hear us, the mic is not muted, and when you go into the sound settings the mic is on the proper setting from what I can tell, and when I go into speech (under speech recognition) the microphone option for built-in microphone is grayed out. I don't what exactly this all means, but if someone else does, and can help me fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

    I find it quite frankly perthetic that this issue still occurs and is simply ignored by Apple. You find this problem over and over, mic doesn't seem to work, but calibration does pick up sound, and there is no clear indication what is wrong, and what could possibly be done about it.
    Like Dragonlover above, I have the same problem, and while looking through various Forums, I see that A LOT of other customers have the same issue. Help on this is virtually been zero from Apple. I now need to use an external mic which is just what I had in mind when I bot the Macbook Air...
    Hope that the next 56 views will not just look and leave but post of they have the same problem, just to show how utterly sad it is that this is clearly a problem not just on the iMac, but on all Macbooks too. Sad Apple...just sad...

    I tried updating my audio driver to the latest version. But te problem remains the same.
    I also tried to record using SOUND RECORDER. But from that recorded sound, I am getting like an HISSING sound.

  • My mic is not working

    I've checked all the possible/visible mic check options.  When I skype the test call doesn't work and that is how I found the problem.  I did recently download the Mt Lion 10.8.2 and Iphoto 9.4 but they shouldn't have affected the mic.  Lastly, I traveled with my lap top and may have slung it around more than usual. 
    If it needs to be aired with the dusting air, okay...I haven't even found the mic...looked above left speaker and in that folding area, to no avail.  I know it is silly but I organized info and can't find my instruction manual!  Help please!

    See if zapping the pram or resetting the SMU works.  If your mic does not work with any applications that uses it, you probably have a hardware issue.    If you have Apple Care, give them a call and get a case number.  Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you. 

  • Why is my mic suddenly not working in PPro CS4?

    I have a mac running CS4 Premiere Pro.
    I'm using a SM57 mic which I plug into a pre-amp to boost the sound and then from this box I plug into the line-in slot on my mac. I'm recording simple voice-overs over silent footage.
    It's all been working beautifully. But now it's not receiving any sound (the green bars don't move) and I can't work out why.
    It's not the pre-amp, cables or mic - they all work fine through garageband (but the sound quality isn't nearly as good so I don't want to use that and then export to PPro)
    I'm certain I have set it up as I always have done. I'm completely baffled as to what has gone wrong.
    Any suggestions much appreciated...

    When something works one day, but not the next, then something has changed. The task is to find out what has changed. My first guess would be that an Audio Hardware setting in PrPro has changed, Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware. The second would be that something has changed in the OS, but as the mic still functions in other programs, but not in PrPro, I moved this down to #2, for possible causes.
    Check the Audio Hardware settings in PrPro, and maybe upload screen-caps of the dialog screens, so that others can see the settings, if nothing jumps out at you.
    If nothing is wrong in Audio Hardware, I would Delete, Move or Rename the Preferences file for PrPro. I will not even try to talk you though that on a Mac, as I will certainly mess things up, being a PC-guy. PrPro will regenerate a new Preferences file, though you will have to then manually adjust those, as you require, since it will be the install default Preferences. Maybe a Mac-user can give you directions on how to do this. On a PC, one would just hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys, while doing the full launch of the program, all the way through that launch. Or, they could go into the folder structure, and locate the Preferences file, and either Deleting it, Moving it, or Renaming it.

  • Bluetooth headset's mic does not work

    I have NB205-312BL netbook and bought Acoustic Research ARWH1 bluetooth headset.
    I am able to pair it with the netbook easily. However, the mic does not work! Only audio playback works.  I know it is not the fault of the headset because the mic works pretty well with a cell phone.
    When I look at Device's properties, I see that the device is identified as a 'headset' but an audio-sink device.
    The mic does not work even if I explicitly select "Bluetooth Wave" as the sound/voice input device.
    The netbook runs Windows XP. It has the latest Toshiba Bluetooth software 6.40.xx installed on it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    First you need to get your keyboard fixed. The caps lock appears to be stuck.
    What have you tried, and what symptoms do you observe? "Does not work" does not tell us much.

    Fixed. Switched card into different slot, not sure exactly what made it work, but it does now.

    Follow these steps, testing after each.
    Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
    Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (refer to the pictures below to find your device's microphones). Check for these:
    Dirt or debris
    A screen protector or case
    When you're holding your phone next to your ear, make sure you don't block the microphone with your fingers or shoulder and make sure to speak into the microphone
    Turn the iPhone off and then on.
    Update to the latest version of iOS.
    If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.
