My Mic PLEASE HELP it doesn work

Hi, my mic can hear taping noises that i make on my computer, but it cannot hear my voice, if u losten closely you wil hear it but other than that you cant hear my voice. It used to wokr but when i was usuing skype tonight it didnt work. PLEASE HELP. I tried with both prefences and there both turned up and i tried with the audio thing and they are not muted. PLease help

Jester516 - You can't use headphones as a microphone. So that will not work at all. If you have gone into your preferences and it works there, and also sometimes your microphone is working, I would then say you have a problem with your microphone. The best way is to try another microphone and see if that works. It is all about eliminating different variables to try to find the issue. My gut says that you have a small short in your microphone and so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Go to your local electronic store or find one online and buy a cheap microphone and see if that helps.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. on the sound i can see the green part on the volume control move so i know drivers are fine but i cant hear it at all i bought new speakers and fitted them still no sound im thinking hardwear prob there is a chip that feeds them all and also the power button could it be this please help thanks all

Which operating system is installed?
What do you mean by "fitted speakers"? Do you mean plugged the connector in?
What is the exact product name/number of your notebook?
Is there no webcam or mic internally installed or do you mean that they are not working?

Our application worked on workshop 8 sp1. After we upgrade system from sp1 to
sp2, some of the part doesn't work propertly any more.
1. netui:select seems not bind form data propertly. For drop down list box in
forms, although user has chosen something from the drop down list box, the returned
value in the form is always null.
2. we use Java script window.open(url,...) to download and view files. After upgrade
from sp1 to sp2, clients keep getting IE error complaining that "Internet Explore
can not open this Internet site. The request site is either unavailable or can
not be found. Please try again later", although the server and the files are all
in local host server.

Did you update your workshop application files and recompile your application?
A few things changed between GA and sp2, some annotations were renamed, and some
were added.
If you open up your application in Workshop sp2, it should given you the option
to upgrade your application.
Failing that, you may need to go through the code that is not performing as it
was before and check whether it was not utilising a bug that was fixed in sp2
and thus causes it to not function correctly now.

Single user or verbose mode is for troubleshooting, not changing the admin password.
According to your profile you are runing Lion so an alternative may work for you.

Hi there, I have a 2D client-server game, using NIO's UDP. Whenever the clients send data to server, the data just disappears and not exception nor error appear at the server side.
Following are the portions of the code where the problem occurs, please help me have a look, many thanks.
(Please note, I'm using non blocking mode for both client and server, and have no problems with other portions of code, communication was fine, data did get through the network and processed by the server/client. -   Form Monday to Friday: Is working day for all employees except IS department and Driver Group and Saturday, Sunday are Holiday.
-   IS Department : Employees work 5 days a week with rotating basic service on Saturday, compensated by one weekday off.
-   Driver group have 6 working days on a week (Mon-Sat). Sunday is holiday.

If Apple thinks it's a hardware problem, it's not something simple. Take it in for service.
Next time you buy a computer, don't do so until you're ready to open the box and use it as soon as you get it home. If you had had this problem within 14 days of your purchase, you could have exchanged the machine for a new one with Lion preinstalled, no questions asked.

Please help! DVD works, except the slides are smaller.

I've been working on a project for quite some time and am in the final stages. I went to do a proof of the DVD and have found that the slides I have inserted are not the full screen size. How do I make adjustments? I've been working with Photoshop, Final Cut Express and iDVD. The videos and menus look good but the slides aren't right.
Please help! I'd be forever greatful.

IPad mini 3 mic is quiet and where is the mic, please help....???

hello guys i bought my iPad mini 3 today. I'm trying to guess even where the mic is, I'm guessing its at the top on the back well it looks like a mic. but anyway i recently done a video of myself to test the mic on the iPad. and it seems quiet. don't know if I'm doing something wrong. i am currently installing IOS 8.1.2 now. can someone tell me if the mic is faulty, or if I'm doing something wrong. the volume is on full. please help........

Hi, just returned to my work at school and I am having a problem connecting to the network at school as I'm a teacher. I just bought a MacBook Pro after 'donating' my ibook G4 to my wife . However, I cannot seem to access the schools network which I use to before on my ibook G4. I did, on the G4, use DAVE to connect and that worked fine. However, I have read and heard that in Leopard and with the MacBook Pro you don't need anything to connect to a PC network. So, after reading this I looked in the finder and, sure enough, I see the "shared" tab with "all". So when I click on "all" I SEE the network I can connect to. HOWEVER, when I double click on the file server I want it says "connection failed". I've even tried to use the DAVE 7.0 to connect (trial version) but that seems to have same issues as well. It mounts the file server but when I click on it it says "connection failed" as well. I tried to go into finder and to "Go" and then "connect to server" but what do I put in this field? whatever I type in this field, it adds an "afp:\\" in front of it and says "connection failed". I even went into Terminal and pinged the network and it does that fine..so I'm perplexed..is there something I am not doing? Please help as it's first day of classes tomorrow and I really need to marry up with the network here! Thanks for any help ahead of time!

I have been given a BlackBerry from my boyfriend, he was given it as an upgrade and doesnt want to use it. I then put a PAYG Sim card in it and now cant get the internet to work, except for wifi. Also, BBM doesnt work or certain things like that. Im not sure how to fix it. Does anybody know how?

You will not get any internet or any BlackBerry services like BBM without a BlackBerry data plan on the sim card. Your PAYG sim card doesn't have a BB data plan.

Please Help, My MacBook works crazy

New Mac user, I was hoping I'm done with all that "bugs on top of bugs" stuff.... but nope, I guess computer is always a computer, even when the pretty commercials say that it is supposed to be working... oh well.
Anyway away with my rant, and here are my problems:
1. This is the big one, iTunes 7 refused to work right, it kept quitting for no reason just about every 2 minutes. So I deleted I tunes 7.0 and wanted to intall iTunes 6.0.5 ... HOWEVER, my computer refuses to install it. During the installation it automatically selects everything as "Skip" and I can't install anything. How do I unskip it... and first of all what the **** is up with iTunes 7?
2. Quicktime doesn't play sound, now if this was some strange file extension on some strange website... i could understand. BUT i was trying to watch a webstream about the new Nano's right from the Apple website... and quicktime refuses to play the audio. Newest version of quicktime by the way, do I need to downgrade that as well?
3. On top of that when playing audio streams for online radio station, quicktime doesn't recognize it as an infinite stream... what it does is it loads it up and plays it and after 5 minutes or so it replays the 5 minutes it loaded again and again.

Yes, and this is something you want to do, problem or no problem. Get a Firewire external HD and clone your whole HD with SuperDuper! (basic use is free). You can then use Migration Assistant to restore all of your apps, files, settings etc. from the external to the new install on your HD. Of course, I would check that files will play before you use Migration Assistant.
I understand you are reluctant to take this step, and I agree that it is a bit of a job, and of course it still might not be necessary. But Migration Assistant makes it completely painless.
