It seems to work fine for everything else. The microphone icon does not seem to be illuminated on the keyboard anymore.

Try restarting your iPhone.
Are you able to use Siri when this happens? If one is down, they should both be down. The tips in this Apple doc should help too -> iOS: Troubleshooting Siri

Every time I try and record and play it back its just all fuzzy, is there anyway of fixing it without having to send it off for repair?

- Make sure the mic hole is clear and unobstructed. It is the little hole on the back by the camera lens(if has back camera). For the 16 GB one without the back camera the mic hole is on the tope edge near the center.
- Open the Voice Memos app and see if you see movement on the VU meter needle with changes in noise level trying to be recorded.
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

The link for the word 'HERE' directs to a Evergreen School District page, which outside of Mobile Me and/or Aperture. Your school district network might be intercepting the request from Aperture and displaying the 'network authentication page' that you see, instead of the email. I would get with the IT department to see if they can help you get around this.
Have you also tried using the 'Tell a Friend' feature from another network location, like starbucks or your home?

I have updated with os X 10.10.2 and my built in microphone has stopped working. need immediate solution for this.

Currently I own 13.5" Macbook Air (mid 2012) with OS X 10.10.2 running on it. Ever since I upgraded to it, the built-in microphone has stopped working.
I made Facetime calls but my voice was not able to transfer/hear on the other side. Moreover i tried checking the "Sound Input levels" in the System Preferences and they all are perfect. When i speak the volume recognition bars does not show any movement or change, indicating no Input Volume.
Kindly look into this matter and take necessary steps to resolve this issue.

To add to David Woods comment, make sure your Audio MIDI app is running the latest 4.3.0 found in Audio MIDI>Preferences> info>Core Audio Framework 4,3.0

I am not sure when it happened but my microphone has stopped working on my ipad 2. I downloaded an application from the App Store called Starmaker for my daughter. When she tried to follow the start up instructions, she could not make a demo recording as there is no sound.
My daughter and I have used the recording/sound facility before as, when away from, I have used Skype and my daughter has used the talking animal apps.
I have tried a hard reset and tried to clear the microphone by blowing on it and using the hoover attachment to clear it but unfortunately there has been no difference.
I would be grateful for any advice you have to clear this problem, so I can have the full use of my ipad again.

If you have a passcode on the device and you don't know it, then thats another issue. For that, the ipad will need to be restored. This may or may not also resolve your mic issue.
You didn't say wether or not the mic fails with just this one app, or with facetime and skype as well.

Try backing up the ipad to both icloud and itunes first.

For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS. I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer. iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups. It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me". Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do? Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! Two months ago, I bought a new computer that uses Windows 8. I was running iTunes 10.6 on it fine until today, when it crashed for some unknown reason. Every time I've tried to open it again, I kept on getting a 'iTunes has stopped working' message. I've uninstalled 10.6 and tried installing iTunes 11, but keep getting the same 'iTunes has stopped working' error message with no other details. I've tried installing it as an administrator, but got same failed results.

'Elements 11 Organizer has stopped working' Error Message

I recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 10 to 11. Everything works great while I am using it but if I do not do anthing in Elements for 4-5 minutes I get the 'Elements 11 Organizer has stopped working' error message, the only option I have is to push the 'Close Program' button. I have been putting up with this but now I cannot do a backup due to this problem.

Hi, I've just noticed that you too were having problems with elements 11, do you have RoboForm running also on your pc? if yes, try switching it off and see how you go! if it now works close elements, go to RoboForm\options\application integration\ then add Photoshop elements application to the list. Elements and RoboForm clash for some reason. Hope this helps

Microphone has stopped working in apps

Hi,
I have an iPhone 4S and the microphone has stopped working in my apps, such as snapchat, when takign a video in the camera, instagram etc. I've just looked in the microphone settings and all of those apps have permission to use the microphone. The strange thing, though, is that it works when I make a phonecall (people can hear me) and Siri also understands me! I have tried switching the phone on and off again.

The iPhone 4S has two microphones, so the one used on phone calls may be working fine, but it sounds like the other microphone is no longer working. Take a look at this article for troubleshooting steps that can help:

Repair permissions & restart.
Troubleshooting issues with no audio from built-in speakers on Macs
Open up GarageBand if installed then, open a program (optional).
Quit out of the GarageBand app.
