sounds like third party drivers interfering. How do you connect your audio or are you using your computer speakers?
Have you tried going into system preferences audio midi setup and making sure your mic is selected?
This could be the people you are trying to reach's issue where they might have something running that cuts out the audio for them.
try hitting Video, internal mic, when you're on facetime. if it's selected, then you might want to try to connect with someone else and see if the issue persists.

Others can't hear me during calls

Bought Xperia Z3C and from the first day some calls didn't work well...
Others couldn't hear me about 60-70% of the calls, they heard like wind is blowing into the mic and when I put the call on loudspeaker then it worked, they heard me loud and clear.
So I took the phone back and ordered a new one, cause I really like Z3C, even more, if it would work with no problems
So my new, second Z3C, same green beauty - but same problem! Only this time about half of the calls act like that. I tried repairing with PCC on the first phone and tried doing the tests, neither helped and tests showed that everything is ok. Few times, if I put the call on speaker and then back, it worked again, but not always.
So my question is - Has anyone else had this kind of problem? And if so, what did You do? Is there even anything to do? Is it hardware or software?
There is no other phone I would like but it would be silly for me to try the same thing third time.

Do you by chance have a third party cover or case on the device? if so can you try removing said case from the device and then try testing.

Iphone 4 speakers not working, but I can use phone to make calls & hear

Hello, please can anyone help me? My iphone 4 has stopped ringing out or making any other sound through speakers, although I can still use it to make calls & can hear people when I phone them. I've tried resetting it & also powering it off but it has made no difference. Does anyone have any solutions that may help me please?

Check to make sure the mute switch is not in the mute position.
You can also check to see if Do Not Disturb is on or off.

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you can connect the device with Bluetooth and make and receive calls but they dont hear you. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

I have same issue in my MB Air with Snow Leopard. It used to work fine but one day I found that the mic mute was locked on. I went to System and ensured mic was working by seeing the bars move. I went to Facetime > Video drop down and it is all greyed out so not active and the mic symbol in Facetime pane has a line through it (muted) and is dead. I have tried everythinng to UNmute the mic. Two way video is fine and I can hear the other party perfectly. Seems like this happened about the time of a Snow Leopard update but may be wrong. Issue is several months old and, well, getting old! I love Facetime with my grandkids etc. who all use Apple stuff. There HAS to be a way to reactivate the mic in my MB Air. Could someone please help??

This afternoon my speaker on my phone stopped working. I can not hear it ringing when someone call, but if I see someone calling and I answer the call they can hear me and I can hear them fine. I also can't not put the caller on speaker at all , I also can't hear my music or gaming apps. When I turn my phone on or off it does not make a sound as well. I have turned the phone off and turned it off by pressing the top button and home button at the same time and that did not work. I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s. Usually the solution is one of the following:
1- If your volume indicator says headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.

if it play not sound at all then it's likely the hardware issue where the headset detector gets stuck

You aren't attached to a bluetooth headset or other device for some strange reason? Or even an automobile bluetooth, I have a friend that has this issue with his Prius because even when it is not running the bluetooth is still active and connects to his phone.

Try to isolate the issue. Use earphone and if the issue still happens then it might be the phone issue.
- If earphone works fine then it may be the mic on the iPhone. Try cleaning the debris on the iPhone. Finally a restore of the device and try to set it as a new device. Tha will isolate if it is a software or hardware issue.
- You can take the phone to Apple store once you have tried all this.

Calls have been dropping out mid-call (after initially working) with full reception since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS5 (can hear them but they can't hear me).

Calls have been dropping out mid-call (after initially working) with full reception since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS5 (can hear them but they can't hear me). The call initially works but then after a minute or so, they stop hearing me, even though I can hear them. Sometimes it goes the other way and I can't hear them.
Please advise how to remedy ASAP.

PS: I have had full reception bars when this has occured on a 3G network in Sydney, Australia (3 Mobile).
