my mini mac recognizes my usb mic, but premier pro does not list it under preferences?
Hi Robert,
This has to do with Audio MIDI setup. See this article: https://multimedia.nscad.ns.ca/pdfs/Setting%20up%20a%20USB%20Microphone%20for%20Premiere%2 0CS6.pdf
I hope it helps!
Thanks,
Kevin

Mac Pro recognizes n52te on Lion but Macbook Pro does not
I've been using a Belkin n52te for years with no problems. I know Belkin doesn't support it any more so there will not be a new driver. But I have an interesting problem. I upgraded to Mac OS X Lion recently on both my Pro and MB Pro. The weird thing is that the n52te driver still works and recognizes the n52te on the Pro, but not on the MB Pro. On the MB Pro the USB recognizes the device, and i can use its factory default settings, but the n52te driver does not recognize that the device is plugged in so I can't use any of the preference set ups that I have for it. This strikes me as odd since the OS is the same and the USB handling seems to work. So my question is why? why does it work on the Pro and not the MB Pro?
my Pro is a 1,1 and my MB Pro is a 4,1I don't know why the device is fully functional on one Mac but not the other, but have you tried finding the customized preference file on the Mac Pro and then copying it to the MacBook Pro (after backing up the factory default preferences on the MacBook Pro just in case)?

Thanks for your response – But I went online chat with a customer service rep and my problem has been resolved.
Thanks again.

I know you are trying to use a scanner, but try resetting the printing system. This also resets for scanners.

One of the USB ports on MacBook Pro does not work.
Hi,
I purchased a MacBook Pro in Jan '11. Both the USB ports on the laptop were working fine. Recently, I have noticed, any external device connected to the USB port, towards the battery side does not recognize the connection.
Any solutions ?. Is this defect covered under warranty ?.
Regards
Anil MadanAnil,
Try resetting the SMC.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer. -
All the information is correct and filled correctly, I have chacked seven times, but it still will not appear, why?
Any funny characters in the artist or album names? I take it that it is not hiding for the reasons given in Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist? Sort fields can sometimes cause items to be listed in a different place within the list. Can you find it using search on the device?

I have the CS6 production suite. All the programs work except Premier Pro. It starts but tells me I need to upgrade my video software, which I have done.
Can I rpair or reload the Premier pro again without effecting the other programs in the suite which all work well.
Brian DowdallNothing to do with the program. Something is not right on your system, but since you haven't provided any proper technical information we can't even begin to guess.

Well, so i must buy a HD for my MAC? Are ther any possibilities to keep the information from my HD?
You might try downloading Ubuntu as a "live" CD, booting into it and seeing if your HD is accessible, and, if it is, you can copy the data to another external drive. if the failure is a circuit board, you probably won't be able to access the HD.
If you can boot into the Leopard DVD by holding down the "C" key with the DVD inserted, you can also check your HD, but if the system won't boot at all, it's time to take it to Apple for service.
Also, I would like to ask you why it could had happened, normally it happens?
Sadly, it's perfectly "normal" for mechanical things such as HDs, appliances, car engines, etc. to fail.
Why even we humans eventually go
Regards,
In general a failure like this is not a complete failure. You may find most of your HD data are intact, but while the computer is being serviced, I would install a new, larger HD anyway. -
I purchased a Mac Book Pro and find the Itunes a bit strange as the "add folder to library" option under the menu is not available

iTunes for Mac has never had an "Add folder to library" option. This is only available on Windows version.
Select Add to library, select the folder then click OK.
Or drag the folder(s) to the iTunes library at top left of iTunes. -
Hello,
Since installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro, I cannot use Adobe Flash. Each time i attempt to download Adobe i get the same message "blocked plug-in'. Any ideas?
Tksalisel,
the latest version of Adobe Flash Player that runs on Snow Leopard (or newer versions of OS X) can be downloaded here.
Once you’ve installed it, you might need to check Safari’s Preferences, in the Security tab, to make sure that the “Allow Plug-ins” checkbox is checked. -
System Profiler see Griffin iMic, but Sound Prefs Does not
I have 3 Griffin iMics - 2 new white ones and 1 old silver one. All 3 iMics are recognised by my late-2009 iMac 27" i7 running Snow Leopard (10.6.5). However, NONE of these 3 iMics are working on my mid-2009 MacBook Pro 15" 2.8GHz also running Snow Leopard (10.6.5)!
If I plug any of these iMics into the MacBook Pro, the System Profiler lists them in the USB section, but the Sound preferences does not list them under either the Input or Output tab. When I contacted Griffin about this they suggested it was a fault with my MacBook Pro. However, if I plug-in either of 2 different model Logitech USB headsets (with boom mics), they both appear in the Input/Output tabs of the Sound preferences. So it doesn't seem correct to blame the MacBook Pro for this. But obviously something is wrong!!
Anyone got any ideas about what's wrong with the iMics and my MacBook Pro and how to fix it?Hi mooblie, thanks for checking yes.
No, Disk Utility does NOT see the disks. And yes, I've checked the preferences in Finder, and I have ticked it so that it shows external drives.
Further, the Toshiba has "come back to life" (is now recognized), and so just the Maxtor is a problem (which was a problem which as memory serves immediately predated the blue screen/gray screen drama.)
The Maxtor is not seen on the desktop/finder on my wife's (brand new) Macbook Pro, but is seen in her system profiler as well, BTW.
So I would think it's just a problem with the drive (which sadly houses my iTunes collection), except for the brief lack of recognition of the TOshiba; and the fact that it seems my printer (also running in via USB) is only sporadically being recognized (had a few "printer is offline" when it was plugged in via USB and also to the wall (electric.))
FWIW, the TOshiba has no external power, just USB, so has to go directly to the back of the Mini, it was never recognized when I tried to hook it in via a USB hub I have ... the Maxtor (problem drive) has external (AC) power, and that is all hooked up.
WHile trying to fix the blue screen, I followed various fixes including unplugging everything and holding down the Power button, starting up while holding "shift", holding "c", etc., etc. ...
Any further insight greatly appreciated!!!

My MacBook Pro does not recognize my Android Incrdible 2 cell phone and therefore I can not transfer any photos from my cell phone to my Mac. I was able to do this in the past, but can not do so now. I have not upgraded to any new software. My USB cable is plugged in properly and I just get an error message -- "No Android Device Found". What could be the problem?
I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 trying to see what the hype was about and was my first and last android phone. With that being said unfortunately it is a hit or miss with the Mac recognizing an android device or not. It worked perfectly fine the first time around and then it stopped working for no apparent reason. Through trial and error nothing I did solved the issue. I did however plug it in my Mac and left it connected for about 30-40 min to charge for a bit and all of the sudden it recognizes the phone. So I just launched Android File Transfer and everything else became fluid after that. I have no explanation as to why it happened that way, but what I gathered from this is maybe you just have to let it sit for a minute while plugged in before the Mac recognizes it, after all they are opposing software. On a side note this is why I will always be an apple user, Iphones and the like never have this problem

I recently bought an icicle (xlr to usb amp) for my blue spark condenser mic. it clearly states that it is compatible with OSX but it seems my macbook pro contradicts. the mac doesnt recognize the device at all, while in a PC the device is recognized but it reads 'unknown device'. NEED SOLUTIONS.

I apologize.....Yes it was iPhoto that opened it. As soon as you said "Finder" I grew a brain and opened the device with Finder. Still kinda new to Mac's. Do you know why it does not show up on my desktop like my desktop did?
Go to Finder>Preferences>General and make sure that all four items are checked. It's considered an external disk. It should show up then. -

My imac is not recognizing any external dvd writer drive. I have imac with Core i7 and Mac OS 10.6.8. I have tried external dvd writers from Samsung and Amazon Essentials but the computer does not recognize any of them. Which Dvd writer is compatible?
I have an external firewire burner; it never shows on the desktop unless I insert a CD or DVD - that icon will then show (if I have my preferences set to show those on the desktop). Hae you checked in Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) to see if it is listed under drives?
