my mobile has been cut off before i was able to put in new sim in new phone. i feel vulnerable without the use of it. can you therefore put it back on so i can sort the problem out. i am paying for this contract and need to use it thanx

    It could be an indication or a damaged or dying hard drive.  I would recommend doing a disk diagnostic on the iPod's HD using the instructions given by turingtest2 in this older thread.  He also covers what the resulting numbers indicate.

  • Re: BT-Hub4 has been cut off.

    This has been tested from the main socket which is now a single brushed aluminium face plate so has no test socket and the problem is the same. I have tried two different hubs with no change.
    On reset with engineers on the phone the hub goes green, flashes green then turns blue for about 30 seconds but then starts flashing orange before settling to solid orange and wont connect.
    I have changed all the filters and followed all engineer instructions for over 2 hours.
    It was working fine but a little slow when I initially called BT and from the point the engineer was trying to restart the hub his end it stopped working so I know he has done something his end which is why I am so frustrated.
    I am desperate to resolve this. I t cannot be an internal wiring fault as it was ok before he worked on it from his side.
    Any info much appreciated.

  • Since mountain lion Find in Numbers 3-4 columns of data missing and some columns in the wrong order. Fortunately I have a back up on my iPad and was able to put that version in as a new file. Why has this happened ?

    Since mountain lion I have noticed 3-4 columns of data missing from a Numbers file. I have fortunately been able to replace the total file from my iPad version but why has this happened. Makes me lose trust in Numbers

    i need help.
    my ipod was working fine and i came home, paused it and took it off as usual. when i came back to it, it was off and would not respond.
    it still refuses to respond, even after plugging it into the wall and my computer and trying to reset it some 20 times.
    please do not tell me that i am not resetting it correctly as i have read the instructions and it has always worked in the past.
    what do i do?! i feel like ive lost a child. and you all can understand.

    Hi everyone, I need some help big time. I was currently running the IOS 6.0.1 on my iphone 4 and I could sync and transfer music to my phone via my iTunes account. But I updated my phone to the new IOS 6.1 and now I can not transfer music onto my iphone, all it does is tries to sync the songs but it doesn't. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes back onto my laptop yet it still does not work. Can anyone please help me.

    The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
    I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
    Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you.

  • My Macbook Pro began crashing when I tried running safari. An error message came up asking that I repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run repair, computer shut down. Now I can not get it to boot. I tried booting in safe mode to no avail. Pls help.

    Recently, my mid 2010 MacBook Pro has started acting up when I am on Safari. Safari would unexpectedly crash multiple times in a row, then run fine for a while, then again, crash repeatedly. Not long after this began happening, an error message from my Prosoft Drive Genius 3 software, threw out a message that a serious error had occurred and I needed to repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run the software to repair the HD volume, the machine stopped working. I turned off the Macbook and when I tried to restart, it would not boot. I have since removed all external hardware from my machine and tried several times, unsuccessfully, to boot. I have also tried booting in safe mode when also does not work.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks for your help.

    Try SMC reset:
    Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
    On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. (four keys together)
    Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
    Press the power button to turn on the computer.

    Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

    I am running iTunes 11.0.3.42 on Windows 8, and am an iTunes match subscriber.  I have approximately 2700 songs in my library - maybe 1/2 and 1/2 ripped from my CD collection and the rest purchase exclusively through iTunes.  None of this music is pirated.
    When playing this music back on my iPad, I am finding that many songs are cut off before they complete.  When this happens, they continue to play, but it is just silence.  Additionally, many other tunes are scrambled, with bits of other songs mixed together into one.  When going back to iTunes on my PC, I will sometimes find that the songs play fine there - but sometimes they behave as they do on the iPad. 
    This happens whether or not I run my library with iTunes match on the iPad.  I have redownloaded all my songs to try to repair this, with mixed results.  It will often fix the songs that I was having trouble with - but then other songs will begin to show the same type of problems.  I know that 2700 songs is not an immense library, but it is too large for me to systematically review the whole library - which makes tracking these problems very difficult.
    I have seen similar types of complaints on the forums ranging over the last several years.  It also seems that these problems have been "solved" by many different methods.  Nothing I have found has worked for me - or only worked with the mixed results I mention above.  I wonder if these individuals have actually been getting the mixed results I am finding.
    This is truly frustrating, as I do not do anything exotic with my library, and have not pirated, but gotten my music honestly.  I also have ripped my entire CD collection into iTunes, and have gotten rid of the CD's - as I have NEVER had similar problems to this in all the many years I have been using iTunes.  Suddenly I find that I have a majorly corrupted library, with seemingly no way out.  I cannot even abandon iTunes since I have such an investment in it.  At a minimum of $.99 per song it would cost me almost $2700 to replace my library honestly, and that is at the low end of what I would pay.  I don't know about you - but I don't have three grand to blow on replacing a music library I already paid for just to get away from a crappy product (sorry Apple - but what the heck else would you call this nonsense?).  Makes a dude covet taking an eye-patch.
    I am screwed and doubt there's a way out - but I have no choice but to ask for help.  Anyone?

It appears that a significant number of people are experiencing the same problem and have been for months - yet, no official response of correction from Apple. This problem is also affecting the 'Match' product they're trying to sell. I would recommend waiting until this problem is fixed before signing up for Match.

    No. All you can do if you have Find My Phone setup is erase the device or lock it. It must be connected to Wi-Fi in order for the commands to take effect.
