I guess it comes down to just how valuable unlimited data is for you! As others have said, you cannot put a basic phone on the line for now. So you either need a smartphone or do nothing, (which means no phone and still paying for service) to keep unlimited. And then of course you would have to buy the iPhone 5 at full price if you go that route.
Otherwise you can just get a basic phone for now, drop the data plan, and then at upgrade time get a subsidized smart phone on a tiered data plan. I know it is hard to give up unlimited, I upgraded at full price last month to do this, but am not sure how good a decision that was! The real unknown is how long we can keep it anyway......
Edit: in your original post you refer to a SIM card. AFAIK, the X2 doesn't have one so that shouldn't be an issue.

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

I reported my iphone stolen this past weekend on july 27 2013.Recovering it looks like a slim chace. I looked on craigslist in the lost and found and found many ads to buy iphones any condition, sell iphones etc..and jailbreak any iphone. This makes iphones an item that probably wont be returned.
Sadly it's not just Craigs list, though that is one of the worst. And you didn't mention the find my phone service so I guess it wasn't enabled. As you say, there's not much hope. I hope it was insured.

First, if you have an iCloud backup of your stolen phone, you can restore a replacement phone or another iOS deivce to your iCloud backup. This would restore the photos from the backup to the device, along with your other data and settings. You restore to an iCloud backup during the initial device setup. If the device is already set up your have to erase it by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings, then go back through the initial setup screens, and when given the option choose Restore from iCloud Backup.
If your photos were in your photo stream, you can either sync another iOS device with your iCloud account and turn on photo stream, or you can sync your computer with your iCloud account and turn on photo stream, as outlined here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html. This would allow you to access any photos that still remain in your photo stream. (However, photos are only saved in photo stream for 30 days. Any photos older than 30 days would be lost.) -

If you have a backup of your phone on your computer's iTunes then you can go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if using a Mac) and on the Devices tab hover your movies pointer over the backup.
Or if it was registered to your account then you can get it from your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
But if you've sent a remote wipe message to it then you may not be able to stop it if you can't do it via http://iCloud.com -

No! Apple is not law enforcement and therefore does not have personal investigating lost or stolen property other than Apple's own.
Even if they had the information data protection laws would prevent them from giving it to you or anybody else including law enforcement. -

If you go to the computer where your sync your phone to and open itunes and then go to edit in the tool bar then preferences then device preferences then devices.. hover the mouse pointer over your device name in the back up lists that appear there and it shows the IMEI

If you registered it with your Apple ID, open http://supportprofile.apple.com and log in with your Apple ID, so you will see the serial number. The serial number is in the box, too.

My iPhone 4s was stolen on wednesday, and with the insurance looking like they're not going to pay out, due to a 7 day lapse of cover after you update your phone (pathetic i know), I was wondering whether your iPhone serial number is;
a) able to be changed by the thieves.
b) linked to appleID.
I'm wondering if someone tries to create a new ID with my serial number, whether it would report to apple, or alert me perhaps?
Completely lost without my phone had only had it for 3 weeks.no it's not linked to appleID
but if you report the IMEI to the police they get all phone companies to block the phone from being used

Unfortunately, if the iPod was never backed up to iTunes, then the information is lost. But if you have synced the iPod with your iTunes account, you may be able to extract the serial number from there.

AppleCare took the wrong iPhone serial number
I dropped my iPhone 4S in the toilet yesterday - bummer. Fortunately I purchased AppleCare+ when I first bought the phone. Today I called up AppleCare, told them what happened and asked what my options were. I decided to spend the $49 for a send in service/replacement. They told me to go to a UPS store and they would send it to Apple, Apple would look at it, and I'd recieve a replacement phone in about a week. So I took my iPhone to the UPS store, they took my repair ID and printed me out a sheet with the product information on it. The problem is, when I got back home I realized that the serial number on the sheet was my mother's iPhone serial number, not mine which I just shipped to Apple. So now what? Will Apple "deny" the replacement due to the serial numbers not matching up? Should I call AppleCare and inform them?

I am trying to install Lightroom and I am OK until it asks for a serial number. I purchased Lightroom from B&H and the have entered the seal number on the the B&H invoice. Nothing happens, not all the entry boxes are filled with the serial number that was provided by B&H. I looked for a serial number on and in the box it came in, nada. Need a bit of help here, what can I do?
