My motion menu's look like trash! Help!

I made some motion menus (in Motion) and am using them in a DVDSP project.
Anywho, the DVD motion menu images look pretty pixilated, and some of main intro motion flickers a bit when it's moving. Got any ideas why this is happening?
Also, if it's helpful, I created them in 720p, but creating a SD DVD. (I also created my video track assets in 720, however, like I had hoped, DVDSP did encode these for standard.)

When you first start a project, you can chose the size of your file (NTSC, 720p, 1080i, etc.) Is there any way to change this after the fact?
Your best bet is just to use Compressor to do conversions though you can change project settings but they will not carry through. You can see what happens if you take an HD preset(or SD preset) then Project Properties(+J) and how things get changed in positions. You are usually best off deciding ahead of time what to set things up as. Usually a HD setting will work fine to go to 16:9 SD via Compressor.
When you compress your Motion project, at least with the general concept of compression for use with DVD SP SD, you will be changing it to an SD m2v. It is always best to do conversions outside of DVD SP for the most control and usually the best results.
If it was a 720P project you can send the Motion prohject out to a 16:9 Compressor SD preset and it will make a 16:9 SD video (m2v) for use in DVD SP.

My Menu names look like old bitmap graphics. What happened?

Not sure when this happened but the menu fonts both headers and in the drop downs look like poor bitmap fonts and not smooth like they used to. My screen resolution is set tot he max and I don't have zoom turned on. Any ideas?

Go into your system preferences and check appearance then make sure Use LCD font smoothing when available is checked.

I was getting startup disk full error which started me on the journey to free up storage

It looks more like you have missed the External Disk icon and dropped them al lover the desktop. I think, if I remember, you click on one then select all (Command+A) and hold down Option (otherwise it may be Control or Command) and close one which should close them all.

Airport is connected but Airport menu icon looks like it is looking for networks

Status in menu bar appears to be disconnected and looking for networks (cycling through the bars), when it is in fact connected. Is that expected? I can't see how good my connection is as a result.

It is indeed the default - the spinning ball and the message: wi-fi: looking for networks. Your device is NOT constantly looking but only looks again when you click the airport icon in the menu. One may want to change networks or one may have come into the range of a new network that was not previously in the list, you see.
(This is the case in osx 10.8 whether the box is checked or unchecked pertaining to "asking before joining new networks" in the system preferences.)
Think of the light which only comes on when the refrigertor door is opened.

Using iMac, Aperture 3, and & Epson Stylus Photo R1800 printer: How come my prints look like trash?

I have calibrated my iMac Intel Core i3 and printing through Aperture 3 with an Epson Stylus Photo R1800 is not producing great results. Cyan is dominating along with blue lines through the grass in the picture. I figure the lines are a result of clogged head...but the fact the prints are not close to the image on the screen is alarming. HELP!!!

There is an Aperture forum, I'd recommend reposting there and perhaps another R I 1800 users has some insight you may not know about.

My Firefox does not look like the Firefox shown in your tutorials

Going through the tutorials and help sections, the Firefox page shown does not match the one that I have. There is no Firefox button, the menu below the Mozilla logo is the "File Edit View...." menu. So the directions I am getting from the tutorials and Help sections can't be followed.
I just downloaded Firefox, installed it, and checked for updates, which Firefox found and installed. I am now at 19.0.2
I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo Thinkpad. WIndows just updated.
Am I running the latest version of Firefox? Why doesn't my version look like the help pages?

Couldn't help but grin after reading this. You might want to turn off the keyboard shortcuts for Universal Access if you're not going to use such features. This can be done through "Universal Access" or "Keyboard & Mouse" under System Preferences.

It seems I have solved my own problem . . . well hopefully !! ;-)
I was using a 'non' Apple cable. When I swithced to using the stock cable that came with my iPhone, iTunes can now see that I have a 'Device' and identifies it correctly as my iPhone.
Hopefully this may help others . . . ?

Sounds like you bought the iPad secondhand and the previous owner did not remove it from his/her iCloud account.
If you are unable to contact the original owner, the iPad is (unfortunately) useless to you.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and it does NOT look like it is supposed to look - My menu items are not in a single button, etc... as displayed in Step 2 of getting to know your browser on the welcome page for Mozilla Firefox 4. Can anyone help?

To get the new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

You may have installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. Hi, i really need help... I think i by accident deleted the "download manager" i´m not shore what the program is called in English ( Swedish : filhämtaren), but its symbol looks like a grey little box and when you download a file it appears on a list and is then saved in this program. I don`t know how i didn´t see it in the trash, but somehow i deleted this program by mistake. And as a consequence i can no longer open/download any files. I just got my macbook pro and i do love the system but i am now unsure about what i should do with this problem since i am not that terribly good with computers.... Is there any way you can fix this?

It's called an "installer.app"
You can custom install the "installer.app" directly from your System DVD that originally came w/your computer. It will be either inside the "Bundled Software" folder or inside the "Applications" folder.

Poor quality motion tween with png image, tried "Trace Bitmap", but then it looks like a newspaper

I've been a software developer for many years, but am not very savy in the design elements. So, much of what I'm going to say will probably sound "newbie", so please forgive me in advance.
So, I'm trying to get a transparent image to fly in from the side. So, I *thought* I was doing the correct thing by moving the "symbol" off of the visible portion of the stage, and creating a motion tween to move it onto the stage. The motion works, but the quality of the image in general (and the text in specific) looks pixelated.
Thus, I did a little bit of snooping, and everyone said that you should start with a bitmap. So I saved the image from Photoshop into .bmp format, and was able to set the properties to "allow smoothing" and with lossless compression. So far, so good. Now, as I expected, the transparency is no longer there...
So here's the question: how can I make this image retain its quality, still have transparency, and a motion tween?
It seems like this is some set of characteristics that don't play well together, even though I see this type of thing online ALL the time.
I tried "Trace Bitmap" to convert to a raster image, and tried to follow some suggestions online, but when I do "Trace Bitmap", it ends up looking like it has a bunch of grayish dots on the image... definitely NOT what I was expecting.

Go back to using the png, and set the smoothing allowance. That should take care of the quality. In Flash, a "bitmap" will often refer to any type of image element... .bmp's are probably dinosaurs (as in extinct) where Flash usage is concerned.

Select the text, and open the Appearance palette (Come on guys, text highlight is irrelevant, it happens to objects too says the OP), and see what's listed there. For a simple text object, there should only be a line item "Type", followed by "Characters", and when double-clicked the Characters line item expands to tell you the stroke and fill color. For a basic object, there should be a fill and/or stroke.
What happens sometimes, is that you end up adding extra strokes/fills to objects or text, and the appearance palette is where that will be noted. Especially when you are dealing with groups, and/or picking up a color with the eyedropper, you may inadvertently be adding a fill or stroke on top of something. You can drag those unwanted thingies from the Appearance palette into its own little trash can.
