My mouse wont scroll in firefox only

My mouse won't scroll in firefox and have installed drivers (both mouse and firefox). It works in every other application except firefox

Every time Firefox opened

You need to clean the ball.
Take a damp rag (lightly dampened with plain water), and roll the ball in all directions with the surface of the damp rag.
After several scrolls in each direction, the ball will be cleaned of the oils from your fingers.
It should start working again after that.
Basically, the oils from your fingers build-up on the ball, and it slips past it's sensors instead of rolling against them.
This is pretty common with trackballs and scroll-wheels.
Hope this helps.

  • Mouse wont scroll

    Hi
We have just brought a windows 8 laptop and the mouse was working fine until we shut it down the first night and it updated. the next day It wont scroll at ALL on internet explorer and on the side bar the arrows up and down wont work either but if you
pull the bar up and down it works. It seems to be only internet exporer it has problems with. Our mouse is "Genius" but I put a different mouse in to see if that would work and that didn't help either. Ive tried all the other usb ports but still
no go. The mouse works well apart from the scroll.
    Can anyone please help me?!?
    Thanks

    Hi,
It seems that the update cause this issue.
You can try to restore the system back to the point before this issue, and then check the update manually, if there is any optional update related to mouse or USB driver (I suppose that you use USB mouse), please uncheck it and install other updates to see
    what's going on.
If there is no optional update related to mouse or USB driver, I suggest you install these updates one by one, after each update, restarting the computer to check the issue. According to this action, we can determine which update cause your issue.

  • Mighty Mouse wont scroll?!?

Hey guys... for some reason my Mighty Mouse quit scrolling down today. It will still scroll up but not down. I can't feel anything when I scroll down that makes it seem like its catching something, so I am cluecless. Any ideas?!

    Use this article first: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302417
I have to clean mine a couple of times a month, when the above cleaning method doesn't work I resort to more drastic measures. I use a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol on a clean old t-shirt to clean the ball and then blow it out. I have done this many times in the last year, works well with no ill affects to the mouse.

  • August 08 imac. Mighty Mouse wont scroll down.

Hey, I have August 2008 iMac and since about Febuary the mighty mouse will not scroll down. I havent been using it much (Had major pc problems... Been working on my pc alot.) and am moving it to somewhere where it will get used more.
How can I get the wheel to scroll down again?
I have tried unplugging it and wiping it on my shirt, and rolling the scroll ball on a sheet of paper upside down. But those didnt fix the problem.

The mouse ball is dirty, you need to use a damp towel and vigorously rub the mouse's ball for at least 30 seconds. Another technique is getting a clean sheet of paper, placing it on a flat surface, turning over the mouse and vigorously rolling the ball on the paper.
If that doesn't fix it (it should!) then it is covered by your original warranty so contact Apple or take it to an Apple Store for replacement.

  • New wireless mouse wont scroll

    Hi
I have an Imac 10.4.11 and I have just purchased a new apple bluetooth mouse today but I cant get it to scroll down through a website as they do in the video on the apple site.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
I have gone into system preferences and tried to see under mouse if I can activate these functions but its not available as an option.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
Are you talking about a "Mighty Mouse" or a "Magic Mouse"? Or an easier way to distinguish would be do you have a scroll ball? If you do, I would say that there's a good chance it's not scrolling properly because it's dirty. You could probably use a isopropyl alcohol pad or cloth with a slight amount of rubbing alcohol to rub it back and forth to clean it, see if that helps. Be sure to pull the batteries and turn it off, just to be on the safe side.

  • Mighty mouse wont scroll up

I am using a bluetooh mouse, and the scroll button (wheel) all of the sudden won't let me scroll up. I can scroll down, but not up.
I took out the batteries and "rebooted" with the same result. Everything in system preferences looks ok. Ideas?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
These features rely on JavaScript, and it sounds as though you have scripting enabled if you get (the wrong) color changes. Some add-ons might alter the way scripts operate, so a standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If those features work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
To also disable plugins, you can use this page:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category
    Any change?

  • Why am I recently unable to use my mouse to scroll email topics or content?  I can only use the up and down arrows keys to scroll.

Why am I recently unable to use my mouse to scroll email topics or content?  I can only use the up and down arrows keys to scroll. I am able to use my mouse to scroll through internet searches.  It only seems to have affected my email messages.

    Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
