I tried to loading in "safe mode" but I still could not open Firefox.
I never received a crash i.d.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

You may have installed an extension that made changes to the connection settings.

That situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly. Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled. I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned. Sorry this happened the way it did. Definitely not efficient.

I would update to the new version of Firefox but I like my big Google Firefox start page. Don't think I'll have that with the new version and I don't want to give it up.

I love my start page. It's nice and big with the Google search engine bar and Firefox earth symbol attached. If I recall correctly, you are talking about the default start page. To check if this is correct, type '''about:home''' in the awesome bar. If this is the same as your homepage, it will still be there when you update.

Firefox previously worked fine but after installing new version does not open. Opens in the same day that I install it but not after restarting computer.

But the new version only works on the day I install it but the next time i start my computer it does not work. It does not open after clicking the icon. I have Firefox Sync, the new version, and it isn't working on my devices, is there a fix?

I installed Firefox 32.0.2 on my laptop. It is new and this is the first version to install on this computer.
I installed Firefox 32.0.2 on my desktop. It installed as an "update" since I already had Firefox installed.
Previously, sync worked fine between my devices, to include a laptop, an Andriod smartphone and a desktop. When I installed this new Firefox, it no longer syncs.
When I go to about:sync on my laptop it tells me that it is syncing and will begin momentarily. The desktop is my primary device with all my bookmarks and passwords. When I go to about:sync-log, I get the following error. This is the FIRST time I have gotten this error, having logged out and logged back in about ten times. Anyone know the solution??

This looks like a problem with hardware acceleration.
Are you sure that staring in Safe Mode isn't working?
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Try to set the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't help disable Direct2D by setting the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true on the about:config page and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.

You can consider to modify the prefs.js file and add some of these:
user_pref("gfx.content.azure.enabled", false);
user_pref("gfx.direct2d.disabled", false);
user_pref("layers.acceleration.disabled", true);
That way you still have the benefit from hardware acceleration, but may not suffer from rendering issues.

Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. 
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.
