My MSI X600XT Radeon drivers keep crashing
Hello everybody! Im new here so im still gettting used to the system. My problem im having is with my new video card. I just bought a brand new dell 4700,512,400mhz,pentium 4 computer. Bought this radeon card and it works fine, just not "too" fine whem im playing EQ2. Every so often it crashes while im playing and then tells me that my display driver stopped working,i reboot and its fine again. I had just went on msi live update and updated to latest driver 4 my card, and ever since then i keep crashing, especially when in a city or when theres too many people around.Im wondering if someone can tell me if crashes are due to moderate RAM or bad driver for card. PLEASE HELP!! Thanx.
Hi Davee50AE, welcome to the MSI forums
When you upgraded the driver did you first clean the old driver out with Driver cleaner after uninstalling. There may still be remnants of your old driver causing conflict.
Cheers

GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II - Nvidia drivers keep crashing?
Until recently I owned a GF8800 GT 512MB which worked like a charm. Never had a single problem with it. I bought the MSI GTX 560 Ti about a month ago. Ever since then I've had the nvidia drivers crash randomly every few hours. I though it might be a driver bug so I waited for an update, but since then I've updated the drivers twice (2 new stable releases and 1 beta), tried a "clean install" also and every version had the same problem. So it's obviously not a driver issue.
When I say crash, I mean the screen goes blank, the monitor turns itself off for a few secs, and when it comes back on, I get a tray notification that the "Nvidia driver stopped working/crashed and has recovered" (something like that).
I'd also like to point out that my PC really is 100% rock solid/stable and I have zero other problems besides this GPU issue.
Is this a faulty GPU or is there a solution for this annoying problem?
PC specs:
CPU: i7 930
MB: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
RAM: 3x2GB DDR3 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 Corsair
GPU: GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II 1GB DDR5
HDD: Intel SSD 320 120GB, 2x320GB Seagate (Raid0), 1x500GB Seagate
PSU: Corsair VX650W
OS: Win7 x64 Ultimate
EDIT: In case it helps, this has so far only happened during normal work in windows, never during gaming. So my guess would be a problem with the 2d software/hardware perhaps?
EDIT2: Kombustor temps are: 35-40 idle, 75-77 on load (no user overclock ofc, only the factory one).Quote from: kokotron on 24-November-11, 14:34:48
I recently bought the Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti SOC and I'm having similar problems too. So I guess Rasha here is correct when saying:
But it's not as annoying as it sounds, because, at least for me, the driver might restart only one time during a desktop session and then it's stable for the whole time along. I have been playing Skyrim these days with no problems. I do suspect too that firefox - flash might be one of the causes of the problem. I might try the older drivers Rasha speaks off later today.
There is definitely a problem with the 28x.xx and 290.36 beta drivers. Please see link below:

I am having this 'TDR' problem as well and have been helping nVidia by testing some drivers. Not really sure how long it will take to fix this but ManuelG (nVidia customer relations) did say the new WHQL driver has been delayed as they are trying to find a fix. -
Intel Accelerator drivers keep crashing
So I've been working on getting this laptop back up and running for a day or two now, and it's just about done.
However, the display drivers seem to be out of whack.
The driver(s) constantly crash (causing the screen to go black) and displays a warning saying something along the lines of "Intel accelerator drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped working and recovered".
I've looked online and most people that had the similar issue seem to have solved it just by getting the proper drivers for their computer. Except, I can't seem to find them for this one. The intel driver update utility doesn't support the Mobile series 4 chipset, so I can't use that, and I've tried 6-7 different drivers that were all apparently for this computer, but none wanted to work. It would either say the drivers aren't compativle, or that the driver is not validated for the computer.
The computer is running on windows 7 home preimum, x64.
Below is a copy of the dxdiag, I saw on some other forums that it was helpful, so I figured it would be here.

Help I have had my baord for around three months and have had nothing but trouble, the biggest being the board keeps crashing in XP, it dosent matter what you are doing at the time, it will at some point will reboot, it could be and hour i may be six hours but if you put the pc under load or sometimes even just browsing on line and then bang the pc reboots itself and comes up with a serious error code warning gererated by windows. any ideas? I am running a 875p neo FIS2R with two seagate serial sATA drives in a raid 0 config, radeon 9800 pro with latest drivers, 2 x 256 DDR 400 ram (from pc worlds component section) and a P4 3.0GHz fsb800 processor
hey...I also have similar setup but my bios is 1.9.
My reboot problem is exactly the same...I also find that my system is unstable, like if I had a virus sucking my memory up...but I don't...because I've used all anti-virus programs I could use and didn't find any virus...
I don't know if these problems could be related to my modem,
I'm going to buy a new "Power AC" box to my computer because one of my disks insists in turning of while in use, and I have substituted him...
I think I'm having Motherboard problems...
MSI 875p Neo
P4 FSB800 2.4Ghz
512mb DDR Kingston
Ati radeon 9800pro

My 17" Powerbook keeps crashing on me!
Hi there,
I just bought an Aluminium 17" Powerbook from eBay and it keeps crashing on me. It arrived running Panther and seemed to work fine. However as soon as I installed Tiger it began crashing regularly.
I took it into the Apple store and they said that it could mean a faulty hard drive, but they ran a hardware test using the original Powerbook discs and it didn't turn up anything.
I've recorded as much as I can of the reports that the machine generates when it crashes (see below this email) - can anyone decipher the code and what it might mean?
The previous owner said that he had used it for editing video on the hard drive, which I gather is a no-no if you want to keep a healthy hard drive...
Any help or advice gratefully received - thanks!
Patrick

Friday, 2 December. Powerpoint open, Acrobat, Mail. Had left machine for a while (20 minutes). Someone had disconnected my external USB mouse – I then reconnected it, and dragged cursor over the Dock to access my Inbox. Cursor/screen froze and had to restart.

I have the same problem, sometimes with the restart-warning, other times just a good old os9-style FREEZE!

I am convinced that this is a ram-related issue. Have you tried removing the second ram block from your PB? I have 512Mb and an extra 1Gb in the second sloth. Removing this makes the problem disapper...
In this situation I would recommend a slow PB to an unfunctional one...
I have read about this issue severel at different places the internet - by now Apple MUST be aware of this issue. What I don't understand is that if a certain kind of ram is recommended and other kinds are not - why isn't it written anywhere? No info what so ever on apple.com as far as I can tell...

Satellite P300 keeps crashing and giving me blue screens
Hello,
I got a Satellite P300, operating on Windows Vista home premium and its provided with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
My laptop keeps crashing and giving me blue screens and windows says its the cause ls my graphic driver and the eror message is Atikmdag.
I tried everything (i think), i re-installes windows but this i had to do with making a recovery cd with the current settings because in some kinda way my F8 function doesn't work so i couldn't restore my Windows from my hard drive.
I also got the latest Ati drivers, this doesn't help either, i also re-installed them and tried to run my laptop on the windows drivers, this doesn't help either.
I really don't know what to do, can some one help me please? Are you sure that you are running video drivers downloaded from a Toshiba site? Unfortunately the drivers may not be the root of the problem so it is important to eliminate them as the cause. AMD's recommended driver removal procedure is at [http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx] and if you follow that with an installation of Toshiba drivers then your laptop should be in an as supplied state
I'd recommend you look at this [How to troubleshoot Display driver stopped responding and has recovered, ATIKMDAG.sys type errors|http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-27116RadeonSeries-ATIKMDAGhasstoppedrespondingerrormessages.aspx] -

Adobe: Thank you for the information.
Me: It's an AMD HD 6700 display
Adobe: It seems there is an issue with your Graphic Card Drivers.

Me: Error not happening
Adobe: Are you able to launch Photoshop CC 2014?
Me: Yes
Adobe: It means, issue is with Graphic Card drivers.
Me: Yes, I knew that
Adobe: I suggest you to contact Graphic Card drivers and check if you can re-install the drivers and use Photoshop CC 2014 with the Graphic Card
Me: SO... PS CC 2014 is incompatible with the AMD drivers?
Me: I've installed 4 versions already. I'm running the latest beta now
Adobe: Could you please provide me with Full name of the Graphic Card?
Me: AFAIK, PS CC2014 is the only program that causes this error
Me: AMD Radeon HD 6700
Adobe: Dan, issue is due to the Drivers, which are not compatible with Photoshop CC 2014.
Adobe: You may be able to use other products, however if drivers is not compatible with Photoshop CC 2014, you will not be able to use them with Photoshop CC 2014
Me: I think that you have that backwards. PS CC2014 is not compatible with the drivers. It is the only known program to have this problem. Well documented.
Adobe: Please contact Graphic Card provider and check for the drivers or re-install drivers and check.
Me: I did, and they blame Adobe
Adobe: Okay
Adobe: Photoshop CC 2014 is not compatible with the drivers you have for the Graphic Card, there might be issue with drivers.
Adobe: We have checked with the error logs as well., it show Fault Module Name: atiocl64.dll
Me: Again, PS CC 2014 is the only known program to clash with atiocl64.dll
Adobe: I can suggest you to check if you can use the product from new Account and use the product or check with Graphic Card provider for the drivers or a proper installation for Graphic Drivers.
Me: Again, I've done all of that
Me: They blame Adobe, and frankly, they are correct. The problem only happens with your product
Adobe: Please use different Graphic Card on your computer and check if you can use it with Photoshop CC 2014.
Adobe: You can follow below link to know more about supported Graphic Cards.
Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cs6-gpu-faq1.html
Me: Can we elevate this to the next level, please?
Adobe: We have disabled Graphic Card drivers to check if you can launch the product and you were able to launch the product without using the Graphic Drivers.
Me: Yes.
Me: So PS CC 2014 will not work with this card?
Adobe: Issue is with Graphic Card drivers, we can use Product with graphic Card
Me: So PS CC 2014 will not work with this card?
Adobe: Photoshop CC 2014 is compatible with AMD/ATI Radeon, 6000 series.
Adobe: However you have issue with Graphic card drivers.
Me: No, Adobe has an issue. And I have an issue with Adobe.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [email protected] at the end of your chat.
Me: And I'm not the first person to report it, either
<long pause>
Adobe: Please navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
Adobe: Locate sniffer folder and rename it ~sniffer.
Adobe: *Locate sniffer file and rename it ~sniffer.
Adobe: Before that, please re-enable your Graphic Drivers as well.
Adobe: Once you done that, let me know.
Me: No such folder. sniffer.exe is present, however
Adobe: *Locate sniffer file and rename it ~sniffer.
Adobe: Please rename sniffer.exe to ~sniffer.exe
Me: Done
Adobe: Just to confirm, if you have re-enabled your Graphic Drivers?
Me: Yes
Adobe: Now please re-launch Photoshop CC 2014 and check if you can launch it or same error.
Me: No error. Program loads and runs.
Adobe: Please close and re-run the product and check,
Adobe: * I mean, close and re-launch
Me: No error. Program loads and runs.
Adobe: Okay
Adobe: Sniffer file is related to Graphic Processor from Photoshop CC 2014.
Adobe: You can keep it renamed and use the product.
Me: What does sniffer.exe do and can I run PS CC 2014 without it?
Adobe: You will be able to use the product without any issue.
Me: I'm sorry that I had to push you for a solution
Adobe: However I will suggest you to re-check with Graphic Provider and see if they have any drivers which you can use with Photoshop CC 2014, since issue is related to the Graphic Processor.
Me: As of yesterday, they did not
Adobe: I am sorry for the Inconvenience.
Adobe: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: No, thank you. Hopefully, the problem is resolved.
Adobe: You will be able to use the product, if any issue contact us back, we will check and help you accordingly
Adobe: You are most welcome.
Adobe: You may receive an email that will contain a link to complete an optional survey to provide your feedback on the support experience. Your feedback is very much appreciated.
Adobe: Thank you for contacting Adobe. Good Bye. -
Photoshop CS5 is keep crashing
Hello,
Whenever I import picture and select the specific region and transform (ctrl+T) to rotate the selected image, CS5 keeps crashing. I have no idea what's going on.
This weird crash just occured today.
My system: Q9400 CPU and 4gb ram, ATI Radeon HD4670.
Any suggestion?Ooh, another Radeon 4670 user (it's the one I use as well). Great video card!
My first suggestion is to go to the ATI driver download site and update your video drivers to the latest version, which is Catalyst 10.6 as of right now.

Is dual core machine incompatible with the JRE I am using? This never happen when using a single core machine. Appreciate your assistance.Previously, I also had the same problem. it can happen due to the following issues.
1 . If you compile the java code using older version and tried to run it through newer version of java (This may be happened in your case)
2. If u just copy the java folders (YOU ARE NOT RUNNING THE JAVA SET UP) and tried to run java applications .This crash will happen mainly in the stand alone applications

GS70 2PE STEALTH PRO keeps crashing with 870M
So I just purchased the new GS70 from MSI and right after I got it, I went ahead and installed the drivers from MSI's website then I proceeded to install Steam and DOTA 2 but I keep running into problem where it would keep crashing after opening the game. Most of the time, I would be able to open it and get to the DOTA 2 loading icon but it would freeze there. I can hear when the game is loaded because of the sound effects and I can press something but there would no visual change, just the logo. There are times too when I would get to the mainscreen but it would freeze also after a 10 second mark. I've tried all the drivers but still no luck for me. Also when it crash, a message saying "NVIDIA Window Kernel Mode driver stopped responding and has recovered" would appear. I also discovered that if you try to open the NVIDIA Control Panel and if you go to Adjust setting with 3D preview option, you can see how the spinning NVIDIA logo would crash there too. Anyone else having this issue too? And has anyone found a solution to this?

This pretty much confirms that there's an issue with the video card itself in my honest opinion. I would really recommend getting an RMA in process....

PC keeps crashing P7N Diamond, soundcard driver issue?
Hi everybody!
I have followed some forums on xtremesystems.org and I ended up here.
I'm doing my 3rd build over the years (haven't done one for the last 2 years). I have done so far everything with extreme caution as don't want to mess up anything (I have had the case together already for the last 2 weeks and haven't even had chance to fire up even one game ). So far I have stayed away from trying over clock anything since my rig is not even stable with stock settings (plus I'm newb so I'm not ready to over clock yet). Haven't adjusted anything in Bios except DRAM voltage to 2.10 (recommended factory settings) and the timings 4-4-4-15 (again recommended factory settings). Everything fired up with first go but when I started to intstall drivers then I started to run into problems. I'm running XP Pro 64 and these are the drivers that I have used used so far:
Mobo: 9.64_nforce_winxp64_english_whql
GPU: 169.21_forceware_winxp_64bit_english_wh ql
X-Fi drivers: the ones that came with CD as cant find any from the internet that would go for XP64
I did not install Media Shield and I didn't install any software with X-Fi.
My main problem is that whenever I'm trying to install some software or drivers, the system keeps crashing by just rebooting from the middle of the install. It also kept crashing when I had that that software installed (volume control etc) that came with X-Fi, when ever I had mp3 playing and wanted to increase volume. I'm not sure if its any important but I have run Prime95 Small FFT Torture Test for 2 hours and everything was OK. But my my computer still keeps crashing randomly when I'm trying to install anything. Sometimes it takes like three attempts before I manage to install something. My own theory is that it has something to do with the X-Fi drivers.
All ideas are welcome, as I have no idea what do try next.
Sincerely,
Janx

Regards "creative 5.10.0.33 whql dated 3/2/2007" drivers, are those the ones that you can download from MSI website (from here http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1372 ) ? If yes then I cant even install them. I cant remember what error it prompts me with as I'm using that Audigy for time being. I will edit my post later after I have swapped the cards back and done some further testing. I let you know what error it shows.
It shows the following message:
"This installation does not support the AMD 64 processor architecture"
Quote from: loonym on 14-April-08, 11:11:16
and just a question here although this might be a futile exercise, have you tried moving the card around to different slots?
Tried few different slots. Same old story, computer keeps crashing when trying to install some software. As a side note its quite random. Sometimes it crashes with first software I try to install, sometimes with second or third. It doesent have any preference which program it likes more or less. Sometimes if it doesn't install some certain software with first run I may be able to install it with second or third run. Quite random thing. There isn't any specific pattern that I have discovered (well except the fact it only becomes unstable after I install those drivers. Everything is so random.

If you want to experiment you can read about some end-user modded x-fi drivers here: http://www.driverheaven.net/audio-general-technical-discussion/149754-vista-xp-driver-support-audigy-xtreme-audio-xfi-cards.html and here: http://www.youp-pax.org/
Tried those Youp_Pax_XFIAudio&XFIXpressAudioV1.01 drivers and it produces following message:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit." (and it only gives me an option to press "OK")
I also did a fresh Windows XP 64 install and tried again. No luck as it still prompts me with the same message. As a side note, I am able to install those drivers that come with the CD. So therefore I believe my product is properly installed. But that could be just me still doing something wrong (but it doubt).
I'm also going through these issues with MSI online support. They are very helpful, but so far there isn't much breakthrough. This is their last advice:

Dear,
Please go to the following link to download the xp 64-bit driver for your sound card to have a try. If still can't help, please mail us again.
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=1&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP+Professional+x64+Edition®ion=1&Product_Name=Sound+Blaster+X-Fi+Xtreme+Audio&Product_ID=15855&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=23&drivertype=0&x=17&y=10
Regards
MSI Technical Support Team
Using that driver results with the same error message when I try to install it:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit."
But that is kinda obvious as those are drivers for Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio but I have PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio . The soundcard that is shipped with MSI P7N Diamond motherboard is not true X-Fi so therefore those X-Fi Xtreme Audio drivers should not work anyway.
I know it was long shot but it was worth to try.
I have notified them about my results, will see what other ideas they might have.
All ideas or suggestions are very welcome
Cheers

I'm using a HP Pavilion 17 Notebook and after updating to Win 8.1 my AMD A8-5550M APU with Radeon HD Graphics keeps crashing or "stops working" I get that the system has recovered but I can only continue after I close all open programs. I've tried updating my drivers but it says everything is up to date, so now I'm at a loss as to how to fix this issue?
