My Multiple Saves On A Flash File Gone? [URGENT HELP NEEDED]

Hey guys,
I am very disappointed with the fact that I've been working on a school project on a Flash file for numerous days, and yesterday, I was close to completetion when I found out that none my saves were updated. Basically, I spent hours working on the project and I saved my Flash file multiple times; however, I just opened my Flash file today and found out that all of the updates that I had made on the file were gone. Is there any way I can still recover the file/updates through cache possible, and what may have gone wrong?
What I have Tried To Solve The Issue:
- I have done a full scan of the computer but only found the non-updated file.
- I had dragged the saved file onto my USB the previous day before I turned off the computer, but the Flash file on the USB is the non-updated file as well.
- Try to find a cache, unsuccessfully.
- Browsed this forum but found nothing.
- I even checked my Recycling Bin.
Other Info:
- I am using Flash CS3.
- The folder which contained my Flash file has all of the images that I had edited with PhotoShop CS3, as well as the images that I had downloaded online. It's only the Flash file that is old.
Please help me out on this as soon as possible as it's a school project. My hours worth of time is gone and I really don't want to have to start again while there may be a solution to this out there. Thank you very much.

You best bet is to get your san folks to give you some disk space for a mount point on the last node in the cluster. Once they assign the lun (not raw) have your SAs make it a mounted file system such as /dbbackup.
Run all of your rman backups on your last node on the cluster. The only draw back is, if that node dies, then you will not be able to run backups. but your backups would be safe as they are on the san.
Only way to have a mounted file system on all nodes in your cluser is to have some sort of third party file system cluster ware .. such as veritas or OCFS2 - then all nodes could see it.
I feel the first node in the cluster (the primary node) is the most busy out of the rest .. so thats why the suggestion of running rman on the last node in the cluster.

Multiple projects, yet one flash file launched from browser

Hello everyone, I glad to be a part of this wonderful community. I have a really sticky Captivate 4 problem, and I wanted to get my feelers out there now before I really need to get this done before the end of the week. This question has to do with publishing. I have 7 project files, and I created a "menu" slide at the end of each of them that look exactly the same. In this particular slide, there are 7 'click boxes' spread throughout the page that launch all the other projects. If you are wondering why I did this, it's because I'm trying to cut back on load time when a user click on any individual project. Now, my programmer can only launch one .swf file from our webpage to get the first project started. So, does this mean Captivate will dynamically handle launching all of the other projects(assuming multiple flash files are created) when they are launched from these "menu" slides? I'm a bit confused. I'm likely confusing some of you as well. It is hard to put the problem into writing. Please help!

Okay, so lets look at the problem, shall we?
You created seven projects. But you later asked:

First off, with seven different projects, you end up with seven different outputs. Assuming you are using Captivate in the basic form, you will end up with seven different SWF files and seven different HTM files that need to be factored into things. You may have more files than that, depending on your options used.
When you create the links using the Click Boxes, hopefully you used the option: Open other project. This means that when the user clicks, the other SWF/HTM or EXE (depending on output) will be launched.
I'm sure you will have other questions. So just post back either in threads of their own or by replying to this thread.

File Compression Questions/Help Needed

Question, I have just completed an audio presentation project (audio book on CD) for a client (681 mgs) which I now need to have replicated 1500 times over. The problem is my outsourced replicator will only press cd's up to 650 mgs. Therefore, I need to figure out how to compress the presentation just slightly (as to not lose tone quality) to get in onto the disc. (The CD Rom will be played in the car or computer Cd players)
I used the Soundtrack 1.2 to complete the project and also have Quicktime pro, however, I'm not sure what to do and how to change the settings to get the compression correct.

File control question -help needed

hi all the experts
when using a file control, how can i change a file extension on the run after
writing data to a file which was specified in control property? can this file
be modified by other process when it is being written by the process that initializes
the control, other words, is it being locked to prevent other process to access

Flash text editing serious help needed

I have a .swf flash movie file. After converting it to .fla,
I would like to know how to edit the text on the .fla files when
each letter of the text seems to be a fireworks picture file.

Need help with multiple links in one Flash file

Hi, I have to do a banner which is basically 4 different
slides that fade up and down, but the client wants each slide to
link to a different place when the user clicks on it. I know how to
create an invisible button to link the whole ad, but how would I
link each slide? Thanks in advance!

Am I getting no replies because this can't be done in Flash?
Is there a better way to do it? Actionscripts perhaps?
BTW, I'll have no access to the html page that the client
will be putting the swf file on so I wouldn't be able to put any
code around the file for linking, like if I did a bunch of jpg's
and found a script on the web somewhere that would fade them up and
down and link them. They want the linking built right into the swf,

Preview FIles GONE please help me

I have been working on a project for days and was almost done. I left the program (Premiere CS5) open last night when I went to bed and when I got up, the program was shut down and gone... So I re-opened the Premiere CS5 program and re-opened my project successfully without any errors. Everything looks good EXCEPT, there are no video files on the timeline.......... My titles, sound clips are there. The project still looks like the sounds are in the correct places and the timeline appears to be the same length. I have tried restarting the computer and re-opening the program but the don't come back. I went to the Preview Files-cache folder for this project and its loaded with a few .mpeg files and a lot of .xmp files...... have I lost this project or is there some way to get premiere to put the preview files back into the correct position on the timeline? This appeared to be a crash in the middle of the night sometime. There was no power loss as my other programs were still running. I have a Intel i7 950 processor with 12GB ram. Pretty beefy computer.
Your help in restoring this project would be most appreciated.......

this would make more since to me than anything so far because I kept falling asleep last night and sometimes when I do that I tend to click the mouse because the context menu is always opened up when I wake up. Once I threw the mouse across the keyboard. I was so sleepy I finally just got up and staggered over to the bed and crashed. I may have did this very thing you mention. Why does placing the title over the video trash the edits?

Yes Bill. When I opened up Premiere this morning the title was on track 1 but I didn't even notice that until you guys pointed it out. Joe made a lot of sense.
By the way, why was Premiere closed down this morning when I got up when I left it open?

Flash file problems please help :)

I was given a .FLA file and a .EXE version of the file.
The .FLA file will not let me publish it in any format not even .EXE
I had the web page link to the .EXE so that peopel could download it.
Now my boss wants the .FLA file to be viewable on the web and not download it like with the.EXE file
She also wants the file to automatically when the page is loaded.
I figured I would just publish the .FLA file to .SWF and have it autoplay on the internet.
The problem is that the .FLA file will let me edit it but it will not let me publish it in .SWF or any other settings.
I have found an EXE to SWF converter but the .SWF file created from the converter will not autoplay on the internet.
The .SWF file created from the .EXE to SWF converter will only play after you Right click and select Play.
What do you think I should do?

I can have the publish settings set to anything that I want.
The thing is that it will just not publish it at all, not in any format that I select.
When I click Publish, it will create a .swf icon on my desktop but it quickly dissappears as soon as it is done publishing.
I have reinstalled Flash.
I have renamed the .fla file and tried it all again.
I have created a new .fla file and copied and pasted all the layers.
None of these methods work. I would upload it here but the file is 150MB.

I would not trust any non-Adobe site with the several malware applications disquised as Flash installers making the rounds. The last PowerPC version of Flash Player can be downloaded directly from Adobe:
Flash Player 10.1
Installers for all major platforms are included in the Zip archive.

Urgent help needed - deadline - iDVD project suddenly gone corrupt?

Ive literally finished and ironed out the problems Ive had with a big Dual Layer project Ive been working on for 2 weeks.
Yesterday I successfully burned a project to DVD - and I had not been having any problems.
Then suddenly I tried another burn later in the day - and after all the encoding - iDVD ejected the blank DVD (before burning it) and appeared to freeze. The burn status bar remained complete saying project status: done. However iDVD was frozen like this - and the DVD is blank. I had to force quit as it would not respond.
I calmly tried again - same thing happened - it ejects the blank CD after encoding and freezes.
I decided to open a slightly different version of the iDVD project file I had also saved - and had the same problem....
So I tried to save a disc image instead - this time when I came back iDVD was gone - it had crashed and disappeared leaving no disc image.
I did some searching in this forum and I made some drive space and trashed my .plist files and repaired disc permissions.
I did another test burn this morning....SAME ISSUE - IDVD FROZE AND EJECTED THE BLANK DISC AFTER ENCODING....help! I have no idea what happened or what made it start behaving like this - I cant think of anything that changed on my system...and after all this work this bug has happened at the last hurdle....

ok - so after all the above tinkering and OSX update, plist trashing and permission repairing as well as shifting assets to an internal drive - I set the iDVD project (which had previously burned ok) to burn again - and lo and behold - after the encoding - the same thing happened again...
The project encoded - and then right at the end - it just ejected the blank CD and stopped...
here is a picture of the resulting iDVD screen.
As you can see - it just says 'done'. And the CD is sitting ejected and blank. The media is a fresh disc Verbatim +R DL. If I close the player nothing happens.
If I press the 'cancel' button iDVD says 'cleaning up' and just sits there doing nothing. It does not register as 'not responding' in the 'force quit application menu' - but nothing happens.
This is a real mystery to me. So frustrating I have the project finished! Something weird has happened...
Hi Rich...this project is a regular 4:3 PAL format.
I did try making a new project similar to the one Im trying to burn - and got the same result. Ditto with older versions of the project...
I have just run the Disc 1 hardware test - 'no trouble' result.
I am re-installing 'bundled software' from disc 1. Then I need to sleep and try burning again tomorrow...

Flash CS4 Quiz Template: Help Needed

My organization uses the Flash CS4 quiz template that is included within the eLearning suite. Everything works great. The quiz loads on the LMS, it gives learners' their scores, etc. The issue we're having is after the score is recorded within the LMS.
If a user fails the quiz, the LMS marks the quiz as 'Completed/Failed'. The LMS (Inquisic EX), then, moves the failed quiz into the 'Completed Courses' tab. I understand why it does this because the 'Completed' mark given refers to the learner having gone through all of the pages within the quiz; however, the learner failed the quiz. If the learner goes back into the quiz and passes it the second time around, the LMS continues to state 'Completed/Failed'.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Are there SCORM settings we ought to change within the source code provided by Adobe?

Hi, I have a GUI which allow to choose file from the file chooser, and when "Read file" button is pressed, I want to show the array data into the textarea.
The sample data is like this followed:

2) The problem is your String[][] data.... the only place I see you do anything approching initializing it is
data = new String[numLines][];I think you want to do this..
