My music player is complaining about error

I've tried to play some songs, but my music player is complaining about an unexpected error, and i just upgraded my software. I don't know if anyone has any solution to this

What version OS? Is it a leak? ..... If you installed an unofficial release, switch to official and see if error is resolved.

  • Samsung Continuum Music Player- 5.1 Channel error message

I have a Samsung Continuum.  Recently, when I use the Music Player application, when I press the 5.1 stereo sound I get an error message that states "5.1 channel can only be activated when sound effects are off."  I have no idea what sound effects it is talking about nor how to turn them off.
    Little help?!

No, no, the headphones work fine elsewhere.
I know of no simple electrical reason why specific things like dialogue would be cleanly squelched while background music would remain loud. I find it highly unlikely that it would be due to some problem with the wires---if it was, engineers would manufacture bad wires to perform blind source separation.
The problem is not a mere reversal of channels, but that when the headphones are plugged in the dialog vanishes. I am assuming that there is some bogus default assignment of 5.1 channels that I am unable to change. If you'd like, I can retry with another set of headphones.

  • 5800XM Music player issue : General System Error

    Hi everyone,
I have a Nokia 5800XM since 1 year and I have an issue since a few weeks...
I Updated my phone to the 40.0.005 firmware version
When I play a music with the music player, at the end of the song, there is a General System error and I can't use the payer anymore. But the rest of the phone system is operational, I can do what I want (except playing music). If I reboot the phone, I can play 1 song and the same error appears...
I've tried a soft reset, a hard reset and a firmware reinstallation... The problem remains the same.
I'm a little bit lost, I don't know what to do
    Can somebody help me ???
    Thanks
    Solved!

Yes the problem seems to be the memory card. Before we get to formatting, lets see if its an error in a file. Simply plug in your memory card into your PC via card reader, or lacking that plug in the phone and memory card via mass storage mode. Go to My Computer>Right Click the Memory Card>Properties>Tools>Disc Check. Check it for errors, remember to set auto-fix. Then try the card again on your phone. If it failed to fix, connect the card again to PC via mass storage and format it. Then disconnect and pop into your phone. Go to File Manager>Memory Card>Options>Memory Card Options>Format (Actually you can skip the format on PC, but I just do that to ensure that the thing is wiped clean before I format it using the phone to install phone software).
That should clean up the card. Also, my advise is that when your card is properly working keep regular backups of it. And I do not mean Ovi Suite or PC Suite. Use a third party backup solution (I use the inbuilt one in BitDefender Total Security) to completely back up your card. If you restore from those backups, all apps are restored.

  • Urgent! Music player error/bug

my n95 8gb's music player has some kinda error. i downloaded a mp3 file, the artist name was ACDC. i renamed it to AC/DC, but the ACDC artist name wasn't deleted. i opened it, nothing was there. i tried to delete it, but a pop-up message says General: Feature Not Supported. Can anyone here help me with this? coz i have to sell my phone so i can buy an electric guitar. Please help..
    Regards,

This is a normal case with the phone
on firmware 3.08 you often get General System Error
on firmware 3.26 you would get an never ending Searching for Music
on firmware 4.13 you would freeze up your music playing by using the original head set after playing 2-5 tracks
I have to add that the music player is the major flaw in this phone with its series of bugs.  It has issues when updating library after adding new songs too, in addition to its low sound production.
I have tried the phone soft reset but this is never a permanent solution
The phone is a good phone still but Nokia seems to neglect its users.

  • X6 Music Player / System Error

    Hello,
I do have a few months old X6, which has worked quite fine so far. Now, surprisingly Music Player gives just "System Error" when trying to use it - i.e. trying to play a song from the lists. I can play the songs direct from the X6 file manager, but not by the Music Player.
I've done all the normal stuff, e.g. installed firmware again, hard reset, etc. without any success. Seems to be that the library index, or related has been corrupted. Library updating does not work neither.
Any ideas? Does anyone now where to find the library index (or related) file to be deleted? And furthermore to re-build the index again?
    Thanks in advance!

    This one also helped here:
    /t5/Music/N97-music-player-doesn-t-display-my-music/td-p/574598
So, the next files from mass storage was needed to delete in order to get rid of the corrupted library:
    \private\101ffca9\harvesterdbvx_x.dat
    \private\10281e17\[string]mpxvx_x.db
    \private\10281e17\[string]pcvx_x.db
STRING and x_x will change depending on the phone. The phone should be connected in mass storage mode.

  • 3500 Music Player

    Hi,
I'm having some problems with the music player of my nokia 3500 classic.
    I bought a micro-SD of 2GB and i've put about 250 songs on it.
When I start the music player, it takes about 1,5 minute to load it. Then it works pretty well, but when i try to select a song via the music library (for example: artists => kanye west => love lockdown), it takes more than 2 minutes before the song is played. sometimes, it even doesn't start and then the phone "crashes".
So i tried to download a music player from the internet, but every time the applications wants access to the micro-sd to add a song to the library or even just to play a song, the phone asks me first and i can't change that setting.
I tried to update the software with Nokia Software Update but when i start that application on my PC, i get an error saying "some essential parts are not installed, please re-install". But re-installing doesn't change anything.
Can anybody help me fixing (one of these) problems?
    thx in advance!

hi, i was also facing this same problem before.... i have come out of this problem, all u have to do is go to nokia care center and tell them to format phone memory, its done...!

  • Music player: general system error & unable to pla...

been surfing the net for a few hours now and i can only find rather useless 'reformat memory card' and 'reformat phone' answers.
ive been messing about with the mp3 tags on my memory card because the music player had a lot of unknown songs in it.
after refreshing the library it still had some playlists and songs in it that i already deleted via the mass storage connection.
    sooo..
what i did was delete the following files:
    e:\private\101FFC31\mpxv1.mpd
    e:\private\101FFC31\pcv5.mpd
    e:\private\101ffca9\harvesterdb.dat
after starting up the music player it went on building a new library and i got the 'looking for new songs and podcasts' msg.
after 3 hours i checked my phone and it still had that message on it.
there are only 4 GB of mp3s on it so i thought something was wrong and i canceled the process and manually refreshed the library.
it did find all the songs but now it doesn't want to play any of them.
    * the memory card is ok. i checked it in another pc and all the mp3s play normally.
    * the memorycard works in the phone because sygic mcguider is still working normally as well.
    * when i remove the memcard and play a mp3 from the phone memory i get the same error.
    * but when i select a mp3 with the file manager then it starts up the music player and... plays the mp3!
    * when i exit the file manager i get the general error message again.
N82 with latest firmware and 16 GB sandisk memory card.

If you've deleted those files. By the way, you need to delete those files in each one of the drives of the phone, not just the E drive.
Basically in each memory card and the mass memory similar files will be present, you need to wipe them all.
If you still can't get it working, then the only other option would be a reset. But you WILL lose data, so do it at you own peril.
    Here are some instructions.

I just subscribed to IHome but when it tries to gather information about my music library, I get an error message that my Itunes is not responding and then it shuts down. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
Thank you for your help and replying to this.  Guess I made my own issue!

  • A simple question about mp3's in a Flash music player

I have a music player for a Flash site that I'm working on that plays 3 mp3's.  Right now it just has some short sound loops, but I find them repetitive and annoying.  I'd like to replace them with mp3's of full songs.  Is it ok to add 3 mp3's of songs that are like 3 minutes long and are 128 kbps or will those be too big of files?  The mp3's are all between 2 and 3 mpgs.  Is it better to try to find ones at say 64 kbps?  Or is there a way to bump them down to a smaller size just for the player but still get decent sound quality?
    Thanks!

    Valeriy,
Please provide some more information about the technologies you are using to build your application in order to get some appropriate help.
For example, if you are using ADF BC/ADF Faces, I will say, "please read section 25.8 of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers," which describes how to do this using those technologies.
Obviously, if you're not using ADF BC, then it's not much help... so... help us help you; what technologies are you using.

  • General: System Error on Nokia N80 music player

    Hi all
I've just copied a bunch of WMA files from my PC to the memory card of my Nokia N80 and I know see "General: System Error" whenever I start the music player - and no tracks appear either. The only other details I can think of are that all files are in Artist then Album folders (i.e. in the Sounds->Digital folder, I have folder "Beatles", then under this folder "The White Album"). Would this matter? I've removed any .ini, .jpg or other files that may have been copied across and I'm sure none of the files are particularly big.. Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Ben

Cheers for the reply but I have managed to get it to play a WMA file - if I load this in to the phone memory.
From further investigation, I've found that if I remove a hidden file from the memory card under found in the system directory of the card, then this allows the phone to re-scan the card for files. It seems that once the Music Player has done a search of the card it stops searching ever again (i.e. it believes it has scanned the card, therefore no point doing again). But what if you add new MP3s or WMAs for that matter? I don't want to carry out this hack each time.
Any ideas how to make the Music Player re-scan the memory card each time?
    Thanks again.
    Ben

  • Nokia 6085 music player error

i just purchased a nokia 6085, but the music player does not play any kind of music, be it mp3, wav, wma, aac, amr, etc...it tells me "cannot create media player. DRM exception: 3
    (javax.microedition.media.MediaException:device error audio/mp3)"
i've exchanged my phone for a new one, but the new one has the exact same problem. i can play the music file in the gallery, but if it's played in the gallery, i can't close the phone, nor can it skip to the next song. actually, the very first hour or so that i got both phones, it worked, but somehow it suddenly stopped working (i didn't change anything at all, i just left it there). i went to ask the people in the store, but they didn't know either. any help? please?

hi all. i hope someone can help me transfer a playlist i created on the pc suite to the memory card. it only allows me to transfer to the phone and of course i get a msg stating that i don't have enough memory. for some reason it's not recognizing the memory card. i've formatted the card and still nothing. i can directly transefr from my pc but they end up being individual files. please help! thx-miko
