My music will not play on an iphone 4
My music will not play on my iphone 4. It has the play symbol at the top right corner of my iphone but it is not showing the time elasped of the song and you can not hear anything. The volume is turned up and it is not on vibrate. the ringer works and the speaker and microphone works fine. any ideas why my music will not play?? Thanks for any help!
If you plug in headphones can you hear the music?
Try cleaning the dock connector and the headphone jack, does this make a difference?

An exclamation mark means that it doesn't know where you moved the music to. To fix this, click on the exclamation point and when it asks you to browse to the location where you moved it to, use the normal commands to go up and down folders in your external drive until you find the song. Repeat as necessary.

I cannot play any of my previously purchased iTunes songs/albums on my iPhone 5. The songs are listed as downloaded, but when I go to play them, the 'play' screen appears for about 2 seconds, and then disappears. I have followed all the steps I can find online. This hasn't yet been reported but the fact that it's only songs you purchased that plays is suspicious. What is the format of the other music? (Go into iTunes and select one and press Ctrl-I and report on what it says there). -

I have new iPhone 4s and music will not play I can pull my music up and hit the play button and it dose nothing!
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
And, just out of curiosity, what doe water filtration systems have to do with this?

please help, someone that doesn't have the savay on moving music from an old pc to a new pc. Music will not play message comes up and have to search. also purchased music from iPhone and does not show on my music library on PC. This is very frustrating. Thank you
It all depends on exactly how you move the library from one machine to the other. The database holding information about your library is normally in a folder called iTunes, with the media in a subfolder called iTunes Media. In this layout you can usually copy the entire iTunes folder from one machine to the other and it will work. If the media folder is split to a new location however then often the links to tracks will fail on a new computer.
You shoud find that the FindTracks script is able to repair the links in your library.
I'm not sure I know what is going on with the purchased music, however if you enable Edit > Preferences > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music you should be able to recover your past store purchases.

I setup a separate itunes account for my iphone. I put my ipod music onto it. The music will not sync to my iphone. It tells that all info will be lost if I do it. HELP! The music is showing in the library.
you can connect the iPhone to your mac and import those iPhone photos and videos to iPhoto assuming you have iPhoto. You can create a folder and export all those photos to the Finder. Keep safe somewhere. Also keep the iPhoto library for safe keeping. When you restore your iPhone you can sync all those photos back to the iPhone. so you will lose nothing. Just remember when you export from iPhoto select jpeg for photos and original for videos taken with the iPhone.

Have Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 64 gig. I noticed that my music will not play alphabetically anymore. Don't know exactly when this occured. I checked all my settings so doesn't seem to be that.Apple no longer is upgrading this unit..I use windows XP but don't believe this is an issue since i have read posts saying this is not the problem..right now am converting my higher bit rate music to see if that changes anything. I also turned off my unit and the next thing am going to do is a restore if this doesn't work. Anyone find a fix for this yet? I also see that this is not a unique problem to Gen 2 units and is occuring on newer units as well..thank you all for any advise...

It happens when you download from two or more different Apple IDs often. It says you must waut 90 days before you can play it without wifi. So in 90 days, try to download again.

Music will not play during a slideshow launched from Flickr. After choosing music and starting slideshow, the screen says "loading" and it never stops. Under the computers section it says, turn on home sharing in iTunes on the computer with the music library. It is on but apple tv wont recognize it. I've signed out and signed back in over and over and home sharing is on but music wont play. Is this a bug with flickr? Music will play when i launch a slideshow from the iPad but it doesnt have as many cool options for slideshows as flickr does. I want the flickr slideshow to play with music!!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!! Can anyone help???
ok, major miracle. it is now working. here is how i fixed it, and it was a stroke of luck to even find this. opened iTunes, went to edit, then to preferences. box pops up, went to the sharing icon and clicked share my local library on my local network. then scrolled down and checked all the boxes that were applicable. for the heck of it i went through all the other headings to see what else might be hiding from me. i never thought this would do anything but went to ATV, selected flickr, chose some music and wa-la....its playing. also, under the computers heading, it still does not show my iTunes library but clearly its there someplace. oh well, it works...i'm happy! your reply inspired me to keep working so thank you for that!

Music will not play, podcasts will. When I press play on a song or playlist it goes straight to pause & will not play. I have reset it but no luck. Any thoughts??
