My music won't sync onto my iPhone 4

For some reason, iTunes has stopped working with my iPhone 4. The music will not sync. I have gone into my iphone via iTunes and made sure that music is checked. I have tried making a big playlist of all my music and trying that but nothing. While on the music tab in "on this iphone", this shows up next to the songs that won't sync
Please help, its a big problem

The easy and quick way to fix this is to connect your iphone to itune...
1.Go into your iphone (Top right of itune).
2.You'll see 3 different topics in bold - Iphone, backups and options.
3.Go to options and uncheck all the boxes (make sure you remeber what was been check before you uncheck anything in the boxes).
4.Check only - manually manage music and video and press apply (bottom right of itune).
5.Wait for it to finish the process (it should delete everything).
6.Then it is up to you.... either go by each tap and sync each one (info, apps, tones, music, movies, TVshows, podcast and photos) or uncheck manually manage music and check whatever it used to be before you unchecked everything.
7.All done, Everything should be working perfectly.

  • My music won't sync with my iPhone (and several other problems)

My music has all disappeared from my iphone - the playlist names are still there, but the playlists are empty. and all my songs are in the library, but they all have the dowload from cloud button by them, but they arent on my actual phone. I'm not sure what the cause is because it could be a few different things... I got a new mac for christmas, so today was the first time I was using my new computer, and I also downloaded the new update on my phone today. After the update, my old apple id showed up, when I changed the email address on that id months ago. I deleted that account after reading some forums on here, and signed in with the current email and password for my apple ID. After that, the music wouldnt go on my phone. Also, it says I dont have room on the cloud, even though I do, and wont back up to icloud. I restored my phone and used my last updated back up (again, using advice from a different forum) to see if that would help, and it did not. Very frustrating because I have spent a LOT of money on music. Help?! Im trying to avoid an hour and 45 min drive to my nearest apple genius bar.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device and follow the instructions. Are yu following those instructions?
Does the iTunes see the iPod? If not:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • The changes I make to my music isn't syncing onto my iPhone 4s. How do I fix this?

When I first add something to my iPhone, it syncs fine. When I attempt to add album art, change the artist's, add lyrics and stuff, none of my new changes sync into my iPhone. Everything else works fine. Apps download properly and sync thing. iBooks doesn't have a problem either. It's just my music. I haven't attempted to add videos yet though. I've tried both manually and automatic syncing from my iTunes library and neither work. I use Windows 7 and iTunes 10. Please help!

Then you should try recreating your iTunes library
    Close itunes
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Locate your iTunes folder (this is the folder that contains the iTunes Library and iTunes Library.xml files).
    Microsoft Windows 7
    \Users\[your username]\My Music\
    3. Open your iTunes folder.
    4. Drag the "iTunes Library.xml" and "iTunes Library.itl" files to the Desktop.
    6. Open iTunes. - it should be empty
    7. Go back to your My music\iTunes folder, and you should see a iTunes media folder you will want to re-add that back in to iTunes.
    8. Then Try resyncing

  • My music won't sync onto my iPod!

I recently updated my iPod to software 5.0.1 and while doing so it deleted everything off my iPod which I was prepared for. But when I went to sync everthing back onto my iPod everything such as my apps and calenders synced onto it but not my music. On itunes when I plug my iPod in, it says in the capacity bar that my music is on it but when I open the music app on my iPod it says No Content. When the iPod syncs it syncs all my calenders but skips over syncing my music. I feel it might be because I haven't got the latest software for my Mac. Please Help! It's not a iPod without music!

    - Try unsyncing all the music and then resyncing
    - Next try restoring from backup
When you are connected to the computer, what does iTunes say how musch is taken up by the "other" category in the colored bargraph?

  • My music won't sync to my iPhone 4s after it got completely erased and then my computer's hard drive crashed.

I was updating to iOS6 and I accidentally knocked out my USB hub when I was moving the printer cable. My iPhone cord, which was in the USB hub, obviously got disconnected. I found out the hard way that I had to format my phone, or it would just be a really expensive paperweight. I did.
A couple days later, I added all of my country music back onto my phone just so I had something to listen to. I listen to a wide variety of music, however, so that was just a small portion of my library. A week and one day after the operating system incident, I got the good ol blue screen. I'm used to them, even though my laptop was purchased in May 2011 and I shouldn't have to be used to them, so I just tried to fix it, to no avail. After running the Dell diagnostics, I was greeted with "Hey! You're hard drive is done!" in computer speak. Numerous expletives later, I booted my computer into safe mode and manually copied all of my files to my terabyte external hard drive.
I've got my computer back now and I copied my files back onto my computer. They're all in iTunes, but I can't click and drag them onto my phone. When I drag the songs, the icon has the number of songs and the circle with a slash through it. I'm not technically incompetent...so I'm thinking that Apple is so afraid that I'm going to steal the music I paid for that they're not allowing me to move it back to my phone. If someone were to prove me wrong and solve my problem, I'd actually be a really happy camper. So.....anyone?
    Thanks!!!!!
    A

I solved my own question. So for anyone else who has this problem, here's what to do.
    1. Plug in your iPhone. Sync it with the computer.
    2. Click on your phone in the sidebar and click on your phone's music tab on the top right.
    3. Select that you'd like to sync music from this library.
    4. Select what you want to sync. Yes, it will delete the current music off of the phone but if you've imported that into your new library, then you'll just put it right back on. Your phone currently thinks it's supposed to sync with the hard drive that doesn't exist, so that's the problem.
    5. Press apply, then press sync (lower right).
    6. It should sync everything....I hope....That's what it looks like it's doing.
    7. Never accidentally unplug your phone during an update again.
    8. Hope to whatever god you pray to that your hard drive doesn't crash again.
    9. Enjoy your day

  • Music won't sync onto my ipod touch 5?

please help!! i added some new music onto my itunes to put on my ipod touch 5 and when i tried to sync it last night it would never complete the process, getting stuck on step 6 of 6 for ages, eventually i gave up ejected it and thought i could wait to listen to my new songs tomorrow.. then when i looked at my ipod's music after it only has about 1,300 songs compared to my usual number of roughly 5,700 ??? it's making me pretty worried and i don't want to restore my ipod because i'm not sure how much of it is backed up and have lost everything before so i'm really not in the mood for that again lol. this morning i tried syncing it just incase and it went through the steps quickly and was finished in about 30 seconds, but still didn't put the rest of my music on... did i accidentally untick something while playing around with the settings? i also have tried restarting both my laptop and ipod, i would really appreciate any help as i'm listening to my ipod all the time !!!

if the status bar is what i think it is then it was saying 5405 items, 14.9 days, 36.33 gb ? but the bar that shows how much storage is taken up by what showed my ipod to only have the 1,300 something songs, i'm not sure what i did but i just pressed sync again and it's loading all the music back on for now

  • I have a number of albums that won't sync onto my Iphone 5.

Most of them have been there untill recently.
I can see that they are greyed out in ITunes, and there is a small round symbol next to all the songs that wont sync. I have tried syncing songs individually and as a whole music library, but nothing seems to work.

  • Why won't my applications sync onto my iPhone?

The applications I buy from the apps store on my computer won't sync onto my iPhone when I connect it. It won't let me check the sync box or anything on the apps page of my iTunes. Anyone know how to fix it?

I'm having the same issue. In the iTunes interface, the 'Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected.' is also greyed out. I just got back from the Apple store where they backed up and restored the phone from backup and then I did a sync. I'm on the 2.2 firmware and still don't have an app store on my phone.
    Can anyone help?

  • IPhone music won't sync with new iMac computer

I've been using a PC with my iPhone. now I use an iMac and transferred my entire iTunes library from the PC to the Mac, but the music won't sync to the iPhone. I've tried restoring the phone and everything but nothing seems to be working. help?!

What are your selections under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
Are you syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal on your Mac and if so, are your contacts and calendar events synced?
Have you selected any photos on your Mac to be transferred to your iPhone and if so, are the photos being transferred to your iPhone when syncing?
Long story short, do all other selections under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences work except for music?

you can connect the iPhone to your mac and import those iPhone photos and videos to iPhoto assuming you have iPhoto. You can create a folder and export all those photos to the Finder. Keep safe somewhere.  Also keep the iPhoto library for safe keeping. When you restore your iPhone you can sync all those photos back to the iPhone. so you will lose nothing. Just remember when you export from iPhoto select jpeg for photos and original for videos taken with the iPhone.
