My music wont sync to my ipod because of mmusic i've gotten on different computers
please help
Custom   Windows 2000

Solutions that I can think of (if I understand correctly)
A.)Check "manually manage music" and then drag the songs you want onto your iPod.
PROBLEMS: If you use this you will have to manually eject your iPod every time you connect it. If you don't know what I mean, DO NOT check "manually manage music" Also, when you rate things on your iPod with this option on, the ratings will not transfer to the computer, and the rated songs will not move in/out of smart playlists on your iPod. Last, you will obviously have to manually manage your music.
B.)Copy all music to one computer.
PROBLEMS:This will eat up space on your hard drive. Also, if you have used up all of the computers that you are allowed to play your music on, you will not be able to play them.
If this was not what you were asking, I'm sorry, I put what I understood.

  • Educator managing 120 iPod Touches with multiple libraries

By using multiple libraries I am able to set each library up for a grade level and content area with their particular needs in mind.  I am syncing the iPods sometimes as often as two times per week and changing the library each time.  Will this affect the life of the iPod?  My school has made quite an investment and I want to be sure we get them to last as long as possible.

No, synching the iPods multiple times per week should not affect their life at all. It's not only presumed but recommended that an iPod be synched regularly for backup purposes. This of course assumes that you take care regarding avoiding static electricity shocks, one of the most common causes of failure in electronic devices.

  • I have a problem, One of my music albums wont sync back to my ipod and suggestions?

i had the albums 'in waves' & 'shogun' - trivium, already on my ipod, but then when my friend gave me 3 other albums i synced the new albums on to my ipod, then that caused 'shogun' to lose its album art (and its a mad cover i might add) and so i though "well, i want the art back" so i deleted the album off my ipod, then i tried syning the album back on with the art, but it just want sync...it is driving me crazy!

    That's right.  You cannot.  Sorry.

  • Itunes wont sync anything to my ipod nor will it authorize my computer!

I just restored my IPod touch 2 gen and went to sync everything back onto it...but itunes will not sync any of my music nor apps that i have previously bought.  The message said i had to authorize my computer but and error always comes up! (-42408) PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi bobamilktea,
May I suggest a clean slate? Try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Then download and install itunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now itunes already comes with quicktime but sometimes quicktime doesn't install correctly so, if you need to, you can install quicktime separately from here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
I don't know if this will solve your problem however, I was just addressing the fact that if you uninstalled itunes without the cleanup utility, that the problem is still there despite the uninstall/reinstall. Good Luck!

  • Please help !!!!!! itunes wont sync apps to my ipod

my apps cannot be determined ...What does that mean????

You need to restore the iPod on the new computer. You can only sync apps (and some other stuff) from different computers/libraries but you can manage music and some other stuff among different computers/libraries.
You need to restore you iPod and see the following regarding the pairing error message.

  • ITunes wont sync purchases with my iPod touch?

I have an iPod 5th generation and my boyfriend has an iPod touch, both synced to the iTunes on this computer. He recently bought some songs through his touch on our iTunes account.
on the purchase history, it shows that the songs were bought, and when I go to the song itself in the iTunes store on the computer, it shows the song as being previously purchased. but yet, I cant seem to get it onto my iTunes, even though its showing fine on his touch. I should be able to get it, right?

  • Itunes wont sync nano, error The iPod " _ _ _ " cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified.

The iPod “ _ _ _ “ cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified.

The solution i found to this problem is have windows hard drive recovery tool scan and repair the hard drive on you ipod. To do this, you need to configure itunes so it does not open when you plug in you ipod. Next, plug in your ipod, for windows 7 user a pop up should come up asking to scan and fix device. click yes and give it some time. after the tool in complete unplug you ipod, open itunes, plug your ipod in. if you still get the message, click restore, and start this process on more time. If you do not have windows seven or this pop-up does not appear manually go to you hard recover tool and have it scan your ipod. then follow the rest of the process.

  • Ipod and Itunes multiple libraries

My girlfriend and I share an Ipod. We have separate Itunes accounts. I understand you can only sync one itunes account per Ipod. How can we transfer songs we purchase between the two accounts to the one ipod without losing other tracks on the ipod we don't have in both our accounts?

  • I tryed to download a movie off of itunes and it downloaded but wont sync into my ipod

i downloaded a movie off of itunes and it downloaded but wont sync it says the ipod is synced with another itunes library do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this itunes library .an ipod can be synced with only one itunes library at a time erasing and syncing replaces the contense of this ipod with the contense with this itunes library does that mean that if i sync the movie it will erase everything on the ipod and only put the movie and if it does can i put it back on with the movie still on it

You can do it by manually managing music and videos. See:
iOS: Issues syncing content with multiple computers using iTunes
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions

  • Multiple ipods belonging to multiple family members on one computer

How do I keep my family's libraries separate on one computer. I have been checking and unchecking songs each time I sync one of my children's ipods. It is driving me nuts. There has got to be a better way. My husbands library alone so far is 1300 songs. HELP!

When the iPods belong to different people, there are basically three ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
    a) Sharing a single iTunes library
    b) Creating Multiple Libraries in a single user account
    c) Creating multiple user accounts.
Note: When you are sharing an iTunes library, you don't have to set each iPod to update in the same manner, you can mix and match from the options below as each iPod has it's own update settings
Sharing a Library and/or User Account
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish): iPod - Syncing Music
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Loading the iPod shuffle differs slightly but it can still be used with the others, for details have a look at this page: Adding songs to iPod shuffle - Windows
    Multiple Libraries
It's also possible to have multiple libraries in a single account. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. This can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows
    Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists
I don't use Windows so I can't give you a step by step on that one, however I can point you to another web page which should help you out. You can read about Windows user accounts here:
    Using Windows XP User Accounts

  • Multiple libraries on one Mac recognised by iPods?

I would like to have all my music in one location but have multiple libraries for different members of my family. When I plug in an iPod, say my daughter's, I want it to know whose iPod it is, and open the relevant library (my daughter's) so that I can sync that iPod with that library. Possible? Thanks.

To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Option key (or Shift key in Windows) when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. The new library will be empty until you add content to it. To get back to your original library you need to close iTunes and open it again while holding down the shift key, this time choose to open an existing library and navigate to its location. Multiple libraries can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Mac
Another option is to create a separate Mac User account for each person on your computer. Different user accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists
