My mute button gets turned on while on a call
my mute gets touched during talking on phone? Any solutions?
I am using the iPhone 5s for business purposes and there is nothing more embarrassing than the person on the other end thinking you hung up on them because your mute button activated on its own. I have been an iPhone user for quite sometime, and have gone thru many iOS updates. Hopefully someone in the apple engineering department views this post. On the other operating systems when in the call mode the "MUTE" button was on the bottom row all the way over to the right side of the screen. Since the new updates it was moved to the top row all the way to the left side of the screen. Engineering - can you please look at moving it back to original position? As your face is less likely to come in contact with it if you hold the phone on the right side of your face. Thank you.

Mute button keeps turning on and off
For some unknown reason my sound keeps muting and turning on spuratically. It's extremely annoying and I'd like to know how to fix it. Why is this happening and how do I make it stop? Please help!

I gather you are experiencing an issue with the Mute button on your notebook erratically turning on and off.
Have you made any recent changes?
Have you checked for viruses or malware?
Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool
This is not a recommendation but many people have also used Malwarebytes .
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers?
Have you tried doing a Windows restore back to before the issue started?

Why does the "mute" button not "mute" the new iPad?
Hi,
the problem drives us crazy.
We bought the new iPad on launch Day and every other App (like Hotel Dash) does play Sounds even though the iPad is muted. Really anoying are "between Level" Ads or "pause Ads" (like in Wedding Dash, Lost Luxuries) which started playing while my wife was in the Subway.
The mute Button should turn the iPad to mute without exceptions. How can we fix it? Or do we have to return the new iPad?

Ok it is "not a bug it's a feature" or just abuse by App Developers, which i have no controll over? I have to use the volume rocker all the time? Why put a "mute" button on an iPad?
As you were told, the mute button mutes system sounds. Other sounds are muted via the rocker. That's the way it is. -

the mute button is a switch you need to flip, not touch. if you look at it and see color, its on.

I am getting a message in the middle of my imac screen instructing me to hold down the on-off button and turn off the computer. The message is in several languages and completely takes over the computer disabling the mouse and all other functions. The only option is to unplug the computer or turn it off. I'm concerned that this is a virus. It does not look like it's related to Apple or the imac OS.
That sounds like a kernel panic. These are generally hardware related, often caused by poorly seated or fauly RAM.

to all who have taken the time and effort to read my post....thank you. I was certain last night that I would be taking my Macbook into the Apple Store 7 hours drive from my location.
