Your nano would really have nothing to do with it at that point. It is really something between iTunes and whatever server out there on the internet that it is trying to connect to for the update.
Try posting this one in the iTunes forum, they might have a solution for you.

  • Lost...whats wrong with my ipod!

Okay, I really am getting frustrated. Last night when I tried to turn on my ipod it said "10% battery life"...so i plugged it into my computer, and the little "charge" icon appeared with a little sliver of red shown. I went to bed, and this morning the charge icon hadn't changed at all, it still was dead. So, i pulled up itunes and it said that my ipod was in recovery mode and that i needed to restore it. So i clicked the restore button, and i was able to turn my ipod on for awhile. I plugged it back in, and after hours of having it plugged in, it still has just the little red sliver. I unplugged it, and the little "please connect" icon popped up, plugged it back in and that connect icon dissapears yet its not charging...it's not recognizing my ipod on itunes either. I've tried plugging it into the wall and through my computer with two different cords. Is it broken or does it take a while for the ipod to "reboot" itself ie: how long does it take before it actually revives itself and starts charging? HELP!!! Also, when i unplug it and try to turn it on, the red icon just reappears and tells me to charge it. UGH.

If you are trying to charge the ipod through your computers usb ports, make sure you are connecting the ipod directly to a usb 2.0 port on the computer not through a hub, monitor or keyboard. Also if your computer is going to sleep, or being shut off during the attempted charging, your usb ports may not be supplying power anymore. Definitely try plugging it into a approved wall charger, and see if it takes a charge at that point.

  • Whats wrong with my ipod classic??

Maybe someone can help me with my iPod classic 160 GB...
I have over 25,000 songs in my itunes. I have tried everything: Syncing entire music library, syncing half of it, then syncing in batches of 10GB. I always have the same problem at around 32 or 33 GBs it gives me an error message sayin smething like: cannot sync song "Whatever" error (50).
I have restored ipod many times,  used different usb ports, read every post on this and other sites. It is always the same it won't sync more than 30something GBs!!!
Please help because this TOTALLY bites. I only use my iPod for music. I need my jams. Just updated to 11.1.4. ITunes.
    iPod classic, Windows 7
    ANY advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like a hardrive problems. It seem to be the main problem with
most of the issues that have come up.
I myself am struggling with my ipod Classic.
And everywhere I look to figure out what the situation is,
points to the hardrive. Looks like the best thing would be
    To replace it...
Apple likes to stick time stamped parts
that way it works for a while, then craps out
    when you least expect it...
    Good luck man.

  • My wireless keyboard is faulty. The CAPS lock light is permanently on and the other keys do not take any input. I have changed batteries, cleaned contacts etc. I cant even log on to the computer as its either caps locked or no input

Wireles Keyboard issue. CAPS lock light permanently on, when it goes off i cant input anything using keyboard

Begin by resetting the SMC and PRAM each at least 2x. If that won't work book an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP. However before doing so, after  you have done the resets (assuming they do not work) test another keyboard to determine if it's the keyboard or computer.

  • My iPod shuffle 4th gene. says it sync all my music but when I want to hear it, it doesn't play ...works on my iPod touch and iPad so what wrong with my iPod shuffle?

The songs worked on my iPod touch and iPad

Your iPod shuffle has only 2GB capacity, so unless your iTunes music library is small, it is probably NOT syncing "all" of your music.  It may not be syncing any songs...  If you use automatic syncing, you may need to set up the shuffle's Music tab in iTunes.
Connect the shuffle and select it in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Select Music there.  This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync the shuffle with songs.  Sync Music is checkmarked forautomatic syncing.
If your entire iTunes music library can fit on the shuffle, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Create your selection of songs below.  For example, if you want to keep it simple, create a new regular playlist in iTunes.  Put ALL songs you want on the shuffle on that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that new playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, your selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the shuffle, replacing its current content.  Going forward, any library changes that are related to the Music tab settings sync automatically when you connect the shuffle, or when you click Sync.  So, if there is a playlist with your shuffle's songs, you can just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes at the next opportunity.

  • Whats wrong with my ipod touch it wont charge or turn on

my ipod wont turn on i put it on charge it wont charge or anything.  HELP

Important: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger.
Verify that the power source being used is working properly.
If connecting to a computer's USB port, verify it is a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Note: The USB ports on most keyboards don't provide enough power, so if you're connecting iPod touch to a keyboard, make sure it has a high-powered USB 2.0 port.
Verify the computer is turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain.
    Try another USB port.
Try charging from a USB charger if available.
If that does not help, try another USB cable if available.
Learn more about charging the battery.

  • Whats Wrong with my ipod touch 4th gen? The sound works when connected to a speaker or headset but when its just the external speaker it doesnt work at all no sound what so evr PLEASE HELP!!!

It Won't work what so ever Please Help

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem

  • I did not find any difference from my iPad 2 and iPad 3?

I did not find any difference from my iPad 2 and my iPad 3, I am wondering did they sell me the same iPad

Look at the model number on the back of the box and enter that number into a Google search. That will tell you wich model you have.
The new iPad comes in a box that simply says iPad on it so you can probably rest assured that you did receive the new iPad, but do the Google search if it makes you feel better.
    Try here as well.

  • What is wrong with my ipod touch 2nd gen?

Ive had this iPod since mid 2010. It's running iOS 4.2.1 and it's not jailbroken. A few months ago I encountered a problem with it. It started to fast forward my songs and pause them and skip them as if it had a mind of it's own. I thought it was a one off and it never really happened after that. Yesterday something happened to it which forced it into recovery mode and I had to restore it to factory settings. Today I added some new songs onto it and I starte listening and all I could hear was music and no singing, then I could faintly hear the singing. I thought there was something wrong with the song so I changed it and it was the same with the next one. I've tried 3 different sets of heaphones which all work on other devices so it's not the headphones. So my iPod has kind of turned into a karaoke machine but with some songs it works ok for a while but then messes up. Also I've noticed that the fastforwarding thing has become much much worse after I restored it.
I'm really stuck. What should I do? Everything else works fine on it. All my apps are ok. Just the music player is stuffed. Could the headphone jack be broken? It worked fine yesterday before I restored it. Should I restore it again? I've already tried restarting and resetting it and neither of them worked. Also I don't have much space left on it, should I take off the movie that ive got on it? Maybe the memory is kind of choked up as well? Thanks for any help guys. As I said pretty much everything works fine on it and I'm trying to not buy a new iPod if I can help it. Oh and sometimes when I'm typing and press the backspace button once or twice it goes and deletes everything on it's own. Things run slow-ish as well. Anyway to improve that?
Oh and may I also add when I can hear the singing in the songs sometimes it's normal, sometimes it sounds like they're singing underwater, sometimes it sounds like they're singing live, sometimes it sounds like they're robots...it's not how the songs are meant to sound. They didn't sound like that before and they don't sound like that on my laptop. There's something wrong with my iPod but idk if it's the headphone jack or a software/hardware problem. :/ :(

  • What's wrong with my Ipod touch generation 3

What wrong with my ipod touch generation 3.? It can not boot up and show only apple logo forever after I erases all my personal data to give to my friend?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod audio only coming through the right headphone whats wrong?, My ipod audio only coming through the right headphone whats wrong?

Ive tried with mulitple headphones but my audio on my ipod is only coming through the right headphone. Whats wrong with my ipod? WIll I need to purchase another one?

I don't know if this is a common issue: I bought an iphone from someone and notice that only the plug design of the stereo headphone that comes with it fits in its receptacle. I tried others that are generally for the same size but they can't go deep enough in the receptacle thus can't get any audio. One thing I noticed is that this iphone's receptacle is deeper in the device than usual, so any other plugs other than the one provided can't fit. I can't use my external speakers with it!!! I fail to understand this. All all iphones like this or is it a defect particular to mine? After all, my ipod touch doesn't have this issue! If anybody knows, please tell me.

  • My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll?

My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years  and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Is there any known bug about ipods locking on their own because no one seemed to have tried to bypass the 4 digit code and it is locked for 26 million minutes. So thank you if anyone has any information or help for us.

Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen.  Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system.  After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.
It's been a while since this was posted, but this might be informative to someone else who finds themself in a similar predicament.
