A neighbor behind me on DOOL COURT had a new install of Verizon done about 6 months ago and the Fiber Cable is still coiled up in MY yard. This cable should have been buried and properly attached the box that was REGRETFULLY installed in my yard. I pick it up every time I try to mow my lawn but next weekend, May 18th I believe that it will just lay there and I will HAPPILY mow over it and possibly chop it into pieces. There is NO reason why this cable is still cluttering my yard!!!

CHGRDBDIRE change rdb name for new installation.

In the installation guide, SAP advices us to change the *LOCAL relational database name to match the hostname.
However, currently my system already has an *LOCAL rdb name entry which follows the default machine/serial number name . The command using CHGRDBDIRE advised by SAP doesnt allow changing the name for *LOCAL entry.
The only method to change the name is to delete the default *LOCAL rdb name and recreate a new *LOCAL entry. Is it safe do to so ? IT contains the objects the QGPL and QTEMP schema now.

Differents between upgrade installation and new installation

Our processes have some misbi
Our processes sometimes misbehave. We don't know the cause. We have a DR site so we moved everything there and then everything worked with no issue. The applications are using SQL 2012
SP2.
All the servers are the same in the DR site as the primary site, One of the things we know to be different is that the SQL server installation in the primary site is an upgrade from 2008,
and the one in the DR site is a new installation of SQL 2012.
Do you think there could be a different behaver that is related to type of installation?
Does it make scenes to reinstall the SQL in the primary site as new installation rather than upgrade?

Transferring DAQ name on new installation

Dear Labview forum,
I have an M-series USB DAQ.
I have built in Labview 8.0 an executible version of software to interact with the DAQ, plus an installation disk with a setup.exe program which installs my executible, a runtime version of labview, and MAX.
However, after installation on a new PC, when plugging in the DAQ, Windows XP must do its own additional hardware installation to recognise the DAQ and then one needs to use MAX to rename the DAQ from Dev1 to my more meaningful name. Is it possible for the installation setup program to complete these additional steps too so that after installation both the software and DAQ are ready for use?
This would reduce the setup complexity for the non-technical user.

Using Labview version 8.0

You can use the VI "MAX Copy Configuration.vi" to reload the configuration in MAX on a new system and save it on a development system.
You can use "File->Export" in MAX to export the system configuration to file.

I recently bought my daughter an iPod 5th generation and quickly set it up with all my info ... E-mail , Apple ID etc. how can I change all of it to her name and new info without losing all her apps , movies and music ???

You will need to Erase the Device and Set up as New using her Apple ID.
Then... Sync her content...

Newbie and New Installation

Hello,
I'm building my first pc at have just bought a new KT6V and am really looking forward to the experience. I have however arrived at my first problem.
I have noticed this motherboard only has one audio plud. Is there anyway I can connect separate CD-RW and DVD-RW?

System is up and running however, I have a few small things I am not sure how to resolve. I am also not sure what information is needed for advice to be given thus, please advise me(very new at this).
1. During boot, the primary master HD is not being recognized(when BIOS[I think]) perform a check. It 'hangs' for about 15 seconds until it then goes onto question 2. below). Is this normal and if not, how do I resolve this?
2. First issue is that, when installing XP Pro, I did the install via a WIN98 startup disk and then from the XP Pro setup.exe. Now after a successful install, each time the system reboots, it is asking me which os I want to boot from. First option is XP Professional, second option is original os. The second(i.e. original os) doesn't boot however, by selecting option 1 namely XP Pro, a normal reboot is possible. My question is : Is it possible that I can either remove this second option(non working) or, to configure the system to automatically boot XP Pro?
3. My system is a KT6V mobo, 2048 DDR333(PC2700), xp2800+. During booting, 'American Megatrends' recognizes my AMD as 1267 Mhz and my DRAM Clock as 266. Is this correct and if not, how do I correct it. My BIOS is still running default settings I think?

After laptop crash and new installation, how can i transfer my ipad content towards itunes ?

HI,
I had to change my hard disk on my laptop, and then resintall windows from scratch. After reinstalling iTunes, I want to transfer the content of my iPad2, iPhone and 2 iPods on iTunes.
However, when I want to synchronisze, iTunes brings an alert indicating that the content of the deveices will be replaced by the computer library (which of course is empty after the reinstallation).
Any help or advice please ?

Thank you. That would have worked too, but before getting the answer I found another solution: what I finnaly did was use Detunes to copy my books from the iPad. It was quite fast too. Any of those could have worked quite nicely.

Web sites isn't loading in my browser, uninstalled completely deleted all files form program files and new installation already done , issue isnt fixed

when i try to load online chat sites these are not loading in my browser. tried on different sites but none of them loaded. www.migchat.com , i have already done the complete un install and a fresh instalation but prblm is still same.

It loads O.K. for me. Have you tried a different browser?

Dynaic Link stopped working in new installation

Hi,
I just installed the 64 bit CS5 on a brand new Windows 7 64bit HP PC with plenty of performance power (Windows Experience Index 5.9). Anyway, during the very first use, as soon as I started working, I got the "Dynamic Link has stopped working" error. Why would this happen on a new computer and new installation? Is it something to worry about or that will casue a loss of unctionaltiy?

Need User Name and Password for External Firewire new hard drive

In the past, I've worked with two 250 GB PATA drives in my G4, one inside and one in an external Firewire enclosure. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy and maintain all system and user files from the internal drive to the external drive. The external drive would boot just fine. These two drives were both partitioned with 74.5 and 158.4 GB partitions with the system files on the smaller.
The internal drive died so I bought a new 500GB drive and installed it in the external enclosure and moved the former external drive inside the G4.
I again used CCC to copy the system and user files to the new 500GB drive.However, I only gave it one 465.8GB partition. I cannot make the external drive complete the boot process. It stops and demands a user name and a password. I've not been able to supply ones which work.
I have remembered and entered the user name and password which were installed when I partitioned the 250 GB drives years ago. The window thinks a few seconds and then shakes back and forth and then clears the data entry boxes so that I can try again.
I do have an Install DVD for Tiger 10.4 (bought from Apple) and have been able to use that to go back and change the root or administrator password and the User password on the computer. That has not solved my problem.
I have read about 25 pages of this forum and not seen any posts that referred to password problems with only the external hard drive. But I've seen some very knowledgeable answers to other people's posts.

Generally, when Mac OS X is asking you for a username and password, it is when you are doing something that requires an Administrator password, such as repairing a hard drive's Directory or making major changes to quasi-System things.
So Carbon Copy Cloner and Disk Utility are likely asking for an Administrator user_id and password. It will not take a simple carriage return as an answer -- the operation will not complete without that Admin authorization.
If you are among the \[estimated five or six] people who actually read the manual and followed the advice to use a non-admin password for your day-to-day computer work, you may not even remember the Admin username and password.
If you have an Installer CD, you can boot to the Installer CD and choose Reset Password off the Installer menu (10.3 and earlier) or the Utilities menu (10.4 and later). There is also an Installer-compatible version of Disk Utility there, and while booted from the CD is an ideal Time to Repair your main Hard Drive, while it is not being used for booting the System.

Hi, I suggest that XE 11g installer optionally request a name from SID (XE by default) and a port number (1521 by default), it would be easier to have two different editions of Oracle Database on the same machine.

The best practice for installing into a new Active Directory site is the same as installing into a new organization, except you don't need to prepare the organization or domains (unless you are also installing into a new domain that hasn't been prepared).
Install the CAS then hub, then mailbox roles, or install a multi-role server, then define your CAS Array name and IP address, and set your CAS behind a load balancer (if needed). Add your external certificate to both the CAS and the load balancer (and the
hub if you use TLS for mail transfer), and you should be golden. Also, if you intend to proxy your CAS connections, here's a link that may help:

New bookmark window not filled with website name and location

I just set up a new computer with firefox and imported my bookmarks. I noticed when I go to make a new bookmark the fields aren't filled in for the name and location fields as they are on my other installations of filrefox. I wondered why,and what I can do to fix it?

How to change of NAME and IP after RAC installation.

I have a challenge here...Would appreciate if anyone can help me..
I have to install 10.2.0.3 Oracle RAC on windows 2003 server 64 bit.
My issue is now the server names and ips are set and I am going to install the RAC.
But the client need is that after one month, they need to change the names and ips of the servers (a one time change).
Because according to their server naming standards, current production servers are having the acceptable names and ips.
The installation was on a 32 bit OS, so they are facing out of process memory errors. Thats why they are going to 64 bit OS on new servers.
After the new servers are ready, the data will be migrated to new server. After a month, they need to change the names of new servers to that of the old (current production) servers.
Could anybody help me by giving me information about how to change the NAME and IP after a RAC installation ?

Hi,
You can change the IP later but you can not change the hostname of the system.
You have to install CRS freah if you want to change the hostname of the system.
Please let us know which IP you want to change.
You can see the metalink Note.276434.1 for VIP or VIP hostname change.
