My name and/or password are not working on start up page. Got given used macbook pro and new to apple so please help!
My brother gave me his macbook pro and I'm having trouble getting past the start up page that asks for my my name and password. I have an apple id and password but these don't work nor does me typing my actual name and the same password. I've rung apple twice and the first person said I had to reset my uusername account and told me I could do so by visiting the support part of the apple website using the link he gave me. The information tells me how to do this but I have to have the computer up and running to reset/change the account username and password. So no joy. Second time I spoke with a lady who told me the name and password should be the same as the one my brother used when he had the computer but having entered the name and password he gave me it still doesn't work. I've tried all the different name types of my name e.g. full name, no spaces, capitals and no capitals etc but every time I click on the right pointing arrow thing or press the enter button the password does a quiver/shake thing and nothing happens. My bro says he has a relatively new lion operating system. I haven't a clue what to do as I'm new to using apple computers and I've spent ages looking through the support section with no success in finding the solution. Resetting User Password in Lion and Mountain Lion
Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.

MacBook pro keyboard doesn't light up all the way, I don't know why and I was wondering how much it could cost for repairs.
If there is Warranty or AppleCare it will be covered at Apple Store. If no coverage, Apple does not repair iPhone 4 Power/Lock Button, for $149 they will give you a perfect replacement iPhone 4 exactly like yours with a 90 day Warranty. For the time being or as a permanent solution you can use perfect Virtual Lock Button. Tap Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap the new small white screen button > Device > Lock. You can even use this button to turn the iPhone OFF. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, ie charger or USB port of computer.

TS3048 Right click on Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not working
I have a 24" iMac, early 2009 Lion,10.7.5. My wireless keyboard and mighty mouse are not working properly. Wireless keyboard- I can turn it on and it will ask me to pair it with the Blue Tooth. I cannot log the numbers in - I even tried logging them in with my wired keyboard device (which is an Apple keyboard).
My Mighty Mouse's right click stopped working as well.
I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps-
New Batteries - Cleared Blue tooth preferences list, repaired permissions, Cleared cache, Made sure that the settings were correct ex: key was not checked on mouse, Removed both devises (keyboard, and mouse) from blue tooth and allowed them to be discovered again, PRAM reset, Hardware check/ reset, and lastly, Reinstall of OSX.
I am still having the same issue with both devices.
Thank you.This is why you should always have a wired keyboard and mouse as backups.
Try smc and hope for the best.
I'd also suggest pram reset but you need the keyboard for that. -
I replaced my hard drive and lost iPhoto. Is there a way to retrieve? I can not find the starter discs that came with my Macbook Pro.

For some reason my passwords are not working on anysites. I've tried about 4 or 5 different sites now all with different passwords.
Does this mean there is some sort of malware installed somewhere?

"Validation" enabled for the composite and my testsuites are not working
I have posted the below issue in Test suite in JDEV - Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0 But I felt that this is the right forum, so posting this again here:
I have mediator calling bpel. Mediator is exposed as web service. Whenever I run the service using "Test" button on EM with validation turned on
then it works and the process will be completed.
But I have initiate xml in the test suites. I select "UnitTests" and select my test case xml that was associated to "Initiate Message for operation",
I see that the process is still in the "Running" state. I put in exactly the same values as I use for testing the service from EM.
Did anybody face this issue? This happens only when we turn the validation to "Enabled" in EM.

Particularly useful, in your case:
Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots () in the account Status column
Check your Incoming IMAP or POP and Outgoing SMTP email account settings
Use Apple's online Mail Setup Assistant to discover what the correct settings should be for both your Incoming (IMAP or POP) and Outgoing SMTP email servers. If your email service provider is not listed in the Mail Setup Assistant, visit your email service provider's website or contact their support staff to get the correct settings. You can use this "cheat sheet" when asking your email service provider about the settings you need.
After you have the correct email service provider settings, make sure Mail is configured properly.
Click here if your Incoming and Outgoing email account settings are correct, but the issue persists
What alert message is shown in the Mail Connection Doctor "Details" column affected account?
Click here if a "Could not connect to this (server type) server…" message appears
Click here if a "Trying to log in to this (email server provider name) account failed…" message or any other error message appears
If the issue persists, then you'll want to remove the account and then add it again using this article:

I am trying to deauthorize my audible account. It says the user name and/or password are incorrect after I had just deauthorized the computer using the same user name and password and logging in to post this. They should be the same password correct?
Deauthorize Audible Account... always appears as a menu selection, even if you deauthorized Audible or never even had an account.
Audible is a different account from iTunes and does not require the same username / password. -

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." My Nik Efex filters are not working in Photoshop CC 2014 - they appear under plug-ins and seem to work, but after running and clicking okay, no new layer appears - seems to have no effect. The separate menu panel does not appear either. Help with this?

All the video tests passed with flying colors.
The sniffer rename trick fixed the problem.

Bought iPhone 5. Really disappointed. Within 2 days, alert sounds and typing sounds are not working. Camera is terrible. My old HTC One S was far superior!
First, no, it is not showing orange. I checked the silent button immediately. Then I checked the sounds section of my settings, but all is good there. When I get a phone call, it rings fine. Alert and typing sounds are not working.
Second..., yes this was a technical point (in which I was hoping someone else might have had the same problem, with a solution), as well as a complaint (definitely one worth making as it is not a minor issue - it is important to hear text alerts when you have children). -

The Battery icon with the "X" indicates that your computer does not detect a battery and is operating on electrical power from AC since your computer is plugged in. If your battery is installed but not detected that indicates a problem: 1. the battery is dead; 2. the battery connector is not functioning properly. You mention that there is no response from the indicator lights so it could be either of the two possibilities. The noise is not a good sign. Best to shut it down safely while you can to prevent any possibility of damage and get it to an Apple Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider to discover the nature of the problem
