My name in front of email address

I set the primary email address in my wife's name. When she sends emails recipients see my name appearing in front of her email address i.e. FRED SMITH [email protected] I have asked for this to be removed but BT although stating they would; have not. Any suggestions on how this can be removed please?

Hi TerryH, welcome to the forums.
May I ask what email client program you are using (e.g. Outlook, Windows Mail or Thunderbird) - or is it via webmail via a browser ?
If the latter, you can alter the "From" name by logging into webmail and choosing Options/Mail (or More) Options/Accounts - pick the account called BT Yahoo!, and change the Your 'From' name item and click "Save Changes"

The question that needs to be answered is what is separating the columns? Is it a single tab, one or more tabs, spaces, or what? Or is it the brackets that makes the separation between the three pieces of data?
If it is always a single tab, that makes it really easy. All you have to do is find/replace the brackets with nothing (as Wayne said)
If it might be multiple tabs, you can find/replace tab-tab with a single tab and repeat that a few times until no more double-tabs are found.
If it is one or multiple spaces, that might be difficult. I'll think about this one if this is what you have. I'll ignore this possiblility for now.
If it is the brackets separating the three pieces of data, you would Find/Replace the left bracket with a tab then do the same with the right bracket.

I would like to know the table name which contains the email addresses maintained in address area of SCOT.
I know how to see through SCOT, but I want to see as a list through SAP table.
I am not able to see email list through SXNODE AND SXADDRTYPE tables.

Change the name of my outgoing email address on icloud

How can i change the name of the outgoing email address for my icloud account? I have done it on my iphone but on my computer it is using my son's name and it should be coming from me when I send and email people.

When I type in a letter in the "To" box, let's say 'a', a number of my contact come up with "Apple Computer Inc" as the name associated with an email address. In the past, the person's name was listed i.e Joe Smith <[email protected]>. Now it looks like this Apple Computer Inc.<[email protected]> Anyone else experienceing this?

Skype name registered to my email address

There is a second Skype name registered to my email address that I didn't create. How can this happen? Can it be deleted? Has my account been compromised?

I want to use the same name for my icloud email address as my .mac name

My name for all of my yahoo, gmail, .mac email accounts are al the same. I'd like to use the same name for my icloud account. It tells me that the name is not available but I'm pretty sure no one else would have chosen it. Is the fact that I've used it for my .mac email address somehow blocking it's availability? There is some confusion in my mind about your post. Let me describe what I think you mean, let us know if I misunderstood...
I'm assuming you already have an Apple ID that you used to define an iCloud account (or an older dot mac account), and the iCloud account has "[email protected]" as its email address. But the Apple ID for this account is not the same as the email address I just listed, perhaps your apple ID is something like "xyz@???.com" and what you want is to use the ID, "mySpecialName@???.com". [the "???" could be mac, icloud, or something else]
If I've got it right so far, then when creating a **new** Apple ID, you must now use @icloud.com. If you are trying to define "[email protected]", then that is the problem - "mySpecialName" is already associated with @icloud.com, because your current @mac.com also has [email protected] as an alias, so that name is no longer available.
Also, you cannot change the current ID from "xyz" to "mySpecialName" on an existing account. So either way, you can't get the ID that you desire.
Let us know if this is not what you mean.

Names are associated with email address in Mail but not in Contacts. How do I fix this?

When writing a new email if I begin typing someone's name, it automatically starts showing matching first and last names and email addresses. So if I start typing Bob it'll start showing matching contacts and have selected by default Bob Doe <[email protected]>.
This is great in Mail but in Contacts it doesn't work.
If I start searching for Bob, there are no results. Instead the only result there is the email address. So I have to know my contacts email addresses instead of their names when I'm dealing with Contacts.
Is there a way to sync Mail and Contacts or something so Contacts gets the associated names of the email addresses?

The same thing is happening here since the 10.10.2 update but as yet I can't find a solution but I am hoping it's an Apple problem that will get sorted out.

Wrong Name Attached to Correct Email Address in Mail

I use Apple's Mail program to receive email from a couple of gmail accounts. I also use iCal to coordinate those same gmail accounts, plus a few work calendars. One of the work calendars is one called "Holidays in Canada," (just a calendar showing federal holidays in Canada, which are relevant to my job). In the last month or two, Mail has started to list my name on outgoing and incoming emails as "Holidays in Canada." This is very annoying!
I've checked my account settings and my contacts both on my computer and in iCloud, and I don't see the name "Holidays in Canada" associated with my email address anywhere. I'm particularly baffled because the calendar bearing that name originates from a totally separate email address than the one it has now been attached to. I disabled the "Holidays in Canada" calendar on iCal, but that doesn't seem to have worked. I'd really like to just get my incoming and outgoing emails to display my name.
Any thoughts? Thank you!

Someone with my name is using my email address as their Apple ID

Someone with my name is using my gmail account ([email protected]) as their apple ID. So all of the emails are coming to me. I tried texting the phone number in the account, but was unable to. (I'm not calling because they're in Canada.) They have credit in the iTunes store, and there's no real reason to think they're nefarious, but I'd like them to stop using my email address!

I had this happen a few years ago. Someone created an iTunes account using one of my Gmail email addresses. I got the email to verify the account. I verified it, and then hit the forgot my password link. Reset the password and logged in. There I could see the ladies name, address and credit card. I changed it all to my name and removed the payment info and never entered my card number so they account could not be used.
Never had a problem again.

New message address shows the Name but not full email address

The email To: will show the name eg John Doe but not the full description [email protected] If I click on the tab by the name I will see the full email address referenced. If mail sees just the name it sometimes says John Doe does not appear to be a valid email. If I send an email to myself at other email accts I have (aol for example) the mail does arrive. I think this may be related to address book but not sure. If I enter a new email in the TO in a new message It keeps the entire email address, I think. Anyway just want some feedback about this since thee is a degree of uncertainty here

mail will indeed draw from address book's contacts. if you have in mail>preferences>viewing the option "use smart addresses" checked, then the name of the contact will be displayed in the to/from... fields and you can see the full email address when selecting the tab next to the name. so that is normal behavior. if you enter a new email address for which you do not have a contact card created in address book, then that will remain as an email address in the field you entered it to. you would have to create a card in address book, add that email address, and then the name of the contact would appear in an email field rather than only the email address.

How does iphone assign a name to an incoming email address

Haven't seen this question posted before. I have several names in my Contact list with the same email address (i use them for eblasts to different groups). When an incoming email arrives, iPhone randomly grabs one of those names and assigns it to my email address. No one else sees this but me; however it is annoying to see some random group's name listed in the To: or cc: instead of my name. Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

This is the way I see it:
1) Sally, Sue and Joe all have the same email. [email protected]
2) You have separate entries in your contacts for Sally, Sue and Joe all with the above same email.
3) Sally sends you an email from her mac. She has her email set up as "Sally" with address [email protected]
4) When your iphone receives her email, it looks in your contacts list for [email protected]
You want to know how it finds "Sally" and not "Sue" or "Joe"?

It doesn't.
I tested this. I have a gmail account that does not live on my iphone. I logged in on my mac via the internet and sent a test message. I do not have that gmail account in my contacts, nor on my mac's address book, so the iphone has no knowledge of it.
It told me I got a message from my name, from my gmail account.
Ergo, the name was sent along with the email address, so it appears that item number 4 is not happening.
So, there is nothing you can do on the iphone, as it is not the iphone that is handling the name. The name comes from the sender, which you have no control over.
Assuming I understood your problem....

Recently downsized to a one person office and now thinking of dumping my outdated Exchange server and using iCloud. I want to continue using my private domain though. Is this possible?

I seem to have made this work on my Mac, although I can't make it send from my domain on my iPhone or iPad.
Set up your iCloud account as normal
Use your personal domain email address as a custom setting
Use a gmail account as the outgoing server (iCloud won't send using any other domains, but gmail will)
(Remember to make sure your personal domain is set up to use iCloud / MobileMe / .Mac)
When you send email ignore the fact that the sending address appears to be iCloud. If doesn't seem to come out that way because of the alias you have set (your own domain).
You should be able to receive email sent to your domain in iCloud, and send using it too. iCloud provides a service in the background.
