My nano is screwed up i think!!!

On my Itunes it says that for my nano i have used 2.1gb's and on my nano it said that i still had room for 1.3 gb's. So i erased everything from both itunes and my nano and then went back into itunes and it still said that i had used 2.1gbs and i looked in my ipod and it said zero songs and 1.3gbs used. So I started to put my songs back on itunes thinking that it is frozen so i did and the storage kept saying that i had less and less to use.

Go to the iPod updater, restore your ipod - it should be completely empty - then update the songs from itunes to your ipod and see if you have more space

All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc.  Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones.  I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great.  And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen.  And cool colors!
    Don't know if this helps . . .

  • Notes in nano or any ipod I think

I was just wondering.... I read a lot of notes and I saved a lot on my nano only to find out that they cant contain more than 4k so I was wondering if theres a more effecient way to divide a text/word document into small parts? Ive read about wikinotes but it only works for Mac....Ive also read that you could run it with the help of another program but there was not much info to help me ... so any tips would really help
    Thanks in advance

Hmmm I would suggest doing a disk mode restore if you weren't experiencing the same issue with all of the ipods that you own.
Do you have any firewall or internet security softwares installed? If so try disabling them first. I'd also look at your drivers for your USB ports. There may be new drivers available for them, check the manufacturers website for those.
Also, do you have the correct Service Pack installed for your windows? For Win XP you need svc pack 2, for Win 2000 you need svc pack 4. These are free downloads at the Microsoft website if you need them.
Are you getting any error messages when you try to restore the ipods using the latest updater? Have you tried to restore using the latest ipod sw updater? If not I would try putting an ipod in disk mode and restoring it. If successful once you close the updater itunes should pop up recognizing it (if all of your drivers, sw's and whatnot are optimal)

  • I screwed up i think down loading something

Wow, I am in big trouble,
I am fairly new to macs,I hope someone can help me,
Yesterday I bought a combination cam corder, mp3 player by aiptek.
It indicated limited support for mac so I thought it would be ok.
    I have both a imac g3 and a 12" ibook also g3 bother run panther 10.3.9
today both computers developed problems with loading web pages, Some sites don't load at all other sites begin to load but the address bar just stays blue,... keeps trying to load, if I hit "stop loading".. more of the page will appear but many banners and such do not and the normal layout is changed.
I think something from the install CD must have messed up both computers.
I noticed when I put the install cd in it did not have any of the typical "install icons" just folders and files.
It seems for now, only the internet bowsers are affected, both safari and firefox however Yahoo chat seems to load ok as does skype. And everything else seems to work.. except internet.
I did clean out cache and cookies and through away any files that the camera created (photos),
Also I did the "permissions" update but no change.
I really an not knowlagable about computers and I have been so happy with macs but I don't know what to do.
To even post this I had to go to the library because the sign in page would not load. But I think I can read the forum to check on any reply.
I have all the discs for the Imac but none for the ibook.
(if I need to restore will the discs work for both computers?
Both run panther 10.3.9 and both are g-3
Imac has 600 mhrz and 768 ram
the ibook I think is maybe 500 mz with 300 or 400 ram.
I think to put them in the shop would exceed the value of the computer
If anyone can help, I would be so thankful.
I can also be reached at dannyroc1 at yahoo
    thank you

    Hi dannyroc
To be honest, this sounds more like a problem with your internet connection than something that an installer for a camera would have caused.
Can you post your internet and network configuration (dial-up? DSL? cable? which provider?), and any other computers and network devices (routers, wireless) that you have in your system? If you have other computers, do they show the same symptoms?

  • Multiple iPods on 1 Computer, screwed up, HELP!

So before I realized that you have to create a separate library for each iPod (on one computer), I logged out of my Dad's iTunes store and into mine. I proceeded to download a few songs and now it won't let me sync them with my iPod because it's on his library. Any clue as to how I can get them to sync to mine or even how to get them on my library? Thanks.
    I have an iPod nano ... I think it's 5th generation.

    1) When I connect my iPod to his computer it says, "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer and Sync" well I don't want to erase or transfer anything. What I want to do is sync the songs that I purchased (that were added to his library) onto my iPod. But it won't let me ... it will only let me transfer what's on my iPod now, into his library.
    2) When I try to drag the music to my device it doesn't work.
    3) When I go to > D's iPod > Music and click on "Sync Music" a message pops up and says, "Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing songs and playlists on the iPod will be replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library." I don't want my songs replaced because none of them are on this library so I would lose them all.
As per the iTunes account and purchasing yes, we have separate ones. My library is on my laptop but the wireless isn't working so I have to use my Dad's computer for now.

  • IPod nano no longer recognized USB device - after almost 2 perfect years

Okay, so I ran about 5 miles last night using my nike+ipod. The ipod worked flawlessly as usual. When I went to plug it in to my computer, instead of acting normal I got "unrecognized USB device" or something similar. iTunes didn't recognize it either. It was charging however. The ipod still plays music, but without being recognized I won't be able to get any music changed on it.
I already tried a couple of things. I rebooted the computer. I plugged it in to another computer (with same results). I switched the hold switch and then held down the top two buttons for 6 seconds, etc. It turns off and back on fine. It plays music fine. The computer seems to know it's there b/c it charges and respondes "USB device not recognized". It just doesn't recognize it anymore.
Please help! Did I sweat too much on it?
iPod nano 1Gb (1st Gen I think)   Windows Vista

I got my ipod in May for my birthday and its worked pretty fine up until now. I went on holiday for two weeks to France where I went running everyday with my ipod and it worked fine but on the journey home in the car it wouldnt work and froze. Now it wont charge and is unrecognised on my pc and says that there are no drivers installed for this Device when it before worked fine. I have tried everything that has been mentioned on every discussion I could find and it still isn't working. It's driving me crazy! Could any1 help please? All suggestions appreciated.
Out of curiousity could it be a faulty wire?

  • Help.  My PC doesn't recognize only MY IPod Nano (out of three)

    Hi-
Me, my hubby and daughter all have our own Nano's and our PC has Windows XP.
Today, suddenly, my Nano is not recognized by the PC. I have checked the wire and USB port in my hubby's account with his Nano and everything is fine.
Mine won't display "do not connect", does not appear in Itunes and does not appear in the sub directories of "my computer". It charged when I connected but I can't update it.
Any ideas what could be wrong in my XP account, or, is my IPod port just fried?? (it's less than one year old and was working fine as of last week's updating. It hasn't been left in extreme cold or heat.)
    Please help!
    Sandy

    Oh, i forgot.
I tried my Nano in both my hubby's and daughter's XP accounts. The PC just doesn't see my Nano anywhere leading me to think it's an issue with the port (is that what it's called). The wire works in the other Nanos.
The only thing I haven't tried from the apple suggestions is restarting my IPod. I am afraid to do so as it still works and if it's truly fried somehow, at least I can listen to the songs that are on it.
I don't have the extended warranty and it's apparently $249 to service the Nano...that is more than I paid for it in February.
    Grrr,
    Sandy

  • Ipod Nano 6th Generation Come Back!

Will apple ever replace the shuffle with the Nano 6th generation?  I think this is a much better idea, as no one wants an ipod without a screen.  The Nano 6th generation was perfect for that!  Bring it back Apple!

    Simply a marketing strategy.
Even it was lot of years ago, the iPod Nano 6th gen is what turned on the lights for the Apple Watch.
I'm sad they stopped selling that, because I've always wanted one, though it was very expensive in Brazil. but there's no way to get it back, I guess all the iPod line is going to die soon.

  • IPod Nano (2G) - any way to track serial number?

I know this has been asked in a few different ways but here is my take...
My son's iPod nano is missing. We think we know who stole it but I cannot locate my receipt or the case it came in so I cannot locate the serial number. As with all Apple items I have purchased, I did register it with Apple and have all of the apple accounts, etc... Is there a location in iTunes or through Apple where iPods registered to me are listed? I have been searching and searching to no avail. I gotta find this serial number.
Before anyone lectures me... I know, I know... keep track of your stuff. There are some extenuating circumstances here... Just looking for some HELP !

There is a [email protected] email address I found that you could ask them if they could send you the serials. Although, being a not-secure method, I doubt they would just send them out. But it might get a dialog started by which you can get the information. Maybe if you sent them the other serial numbers to compare against, they could send you the one you are missing.
Good luck. I googled finding registered products and it looks like there used to be a way via the Apple website, but it is no longer possible.

  • Nano problems . . . unfixable?

well basically on my trip back from spring break my nano freaked out and i think i have tried everything at my disposal to fix the problem. The nano will start up and move to the home screen fine, but i am unable to scroll or select or move anything. If i turn the hold on and off then the screen freaks out and goes dim. Then if i press select it will start the whole process over again. I have restarted by holding menu and select, i have updated and restored multiple times, and nothing has seemed to work. Does anyone have any idea what has gone wrong and/or how I could fix the problem?
    Thanks alot, shorty

yea i was thinking that humidity had caused the problem.. because i was in maui for a week and they are have some very humid hot weather... but i have left it on charge overnight and its acting the same.... so i guess ill try it again thanks alot tho

  • Itunes problems with new nano, purchased songs

Hello all. I am having a few problems with my itunes and newly purchased nano that hopefully you guys can give me some advice on. First of all, when i plug in my nano, it does not recognize it unless i close itunes and reopen it. Then, it takes a few minutes to open and acts like it is a new nano every time i open it. Meaning, it asks me to name the nano and asks me to apply all the settings etc. After that it works. I then can eject it. If I then re open itunes, with my nano not plugged in, itunes thinks that my nano is plugged in and says its corrupted. If i attempt to do anything in itunes, it freezes up.
In an unrelated problem, i am forced to authorize my computer to play my purchased songs every time i open itunes. It never remembers when I authorize it.
Thanks in advance for your help i definitely appreciate it!

OK, could not resist. I did go ahead and put my old run history back into the new & now restored Nano. No problems. Everything is fine. (Be remember, this is not something that is supported or approved by Apple or Nike.)
There may be no connection between adding the old run data files to the new Nano and the sound & freezing problems. Others have already complained about those.
However, what I will say is that you should never mess around with the Nike+ xml "Preferences" file or the "Best" file. These are invisible for a reason. You can put your old xml run data files into your "latest" folder and thus get them on your new Nano, but you CANNOT change your Totals on your new Nano no matter what you muck around with. However, if you try it and things go wrong, doing a "restore" should save the day.
And it should save the day for sound problems and recurring Nano freezes unless you have a defective Nano.

  • IPod Nano is Amazing!

Hi. My dad just bought me the iPod Nano and I love it so much! It is the best gadget i have ever got! Thanks Apple and everyone that have supported my decision to get a nano including everyone in this board that has helped me answer a few questions!
Thanks! take care and have a nice day!
    Alyssa

The Nano is a sophisticated, delicate luxury item. Just figure out the cost per GB and you'll see that the iPod video is a much better buy. The Nano is "impossibly small," sleek, intricate and fragile. Why else would Apple put that "Fragile. Handle with Care." sticker on the outside of my shipping box.
That said, I love my Nano. I wouldn't think to put it in a hip pocket, or any pocket where it might be subjected to pressure or next to other items like change or keys that will undoubtedly damage it. (Put your watch or cellphone in your pocket with other items and tell me it won't come out scratched.) I didn't buy a Nano until I already owned the Apple tubes AND a film surface protector. I use the Nano every day, both at work and at the gym. It still looks and works great.

  • Help! Computer arbitrary shuts off since installing new iPod Nano!

I got an error message when I installed my new iPod nano (sadly I didn't think to write it down so now I don't know what it said) but ever since then my computer just shuts off. iTunes doesn't have to be open for it to happen... It's even shut off in the middle of shutting down! I've tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling but my computer still seems to have a mind of its own. I don't have the slightest clue how to "uninstall" my ipod and I think ITS the problem. Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated! I'm so frustrated!

ever since then my computer just shuts off.
Are you getting any sort of blue screen prior to the PC rebooting? If so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x\[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
If the blue screen mentions a specific file (for example, “ati3duag.dll”), let us know what that is called too. (Exact spelling, please.)
Here's a reference on the sorts of things i'm asking about:
    Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages
If you're not seeing a blue screen (or if you’re just seeing a flash of a blue screen before the PC reboots), we can use the following technique to make hidden blue screens appear for us:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.
With those settings in place, does a blue screen appear before the PC reboots?

I have a HP Pavillion dv7 4070us and I am missing a screw.   A screw that helps mount the hard drive onto the laptop.   How do I find a replacement for the missing screw?

I think your screws for the laptop mounting is the M3x3 screws...this picture I got off from a seller in eBay that might help you locate the right screws for you.
