i am dont know why it is doing that... i am real confused... it works fine.... i have a charger for it in all so i dont know why it isnt turning off.....

If the cover you bought is not a legitimate apple cover than you may be having the same issue I had.
The one I purchased has a top cover swivel, if you spin it around( meaning the top case cover)
The magnet will return to the correct spot and it will work again. It is only located at one end of the case.

I was also experiencing this. I'm using a MacBook Pro, and iTunes 7.6(29) in Leopard. Clicking the pause button didn't work, but the spacebar does, as does the remote control.
One thing that seemed to work was pressing forward / backward instead. After I did that, pause button in the mini player functioned as expected, even after expanding to full-size and back, and after starting and restarting iTunes. I have not seen what happens after starting / restarting my machine yet.
Worth a shot, anyway.

Itunes 10 keeps launching whenever i press the "play/pause" button

since upgraded to snow leopard (amongst other painful problems) i noticed that itunes10 wants to launch every time i press the play/pause button on the keyboard.
this is very annoying. eg, i am listening to music on spotify and then want to pause the music - press pause - and then itunes launches and starts playing music. that's not what i want and is a design flaw.
any ideas how to prevent this from happening?

Apple have put a key on the keyboard called Play / Pause it is specifically designed to operate iTunes, the same goes for the forward and reverse buttons as well.
Therefore it make sense that if someone presses the Play / Pause button that they want to operate iTunes. If iTunes is not running then it starts iTunes for you.
I use the feature a lot as it is quicker than starting iTunes via the mouse.
The software can't tell if you have accidentally pressed the button or not, just as it can't tell if you have pressed the Expose or Dashboard buttons which also take action when you press them. All I can suggest is that you type a little more carefully, especially as you know that the button with start iTunes.

My menu button is working like the play/pause button

What should I do? Restoring it didn't work when I did it with iTunes and I can't restore it on it's own because the menu button doesn't work properly.

It sounds like you are unable to use your Menu button as expected because it acts as if it were a play/pause button. I would try restarting the device first by holding the actual play/pause button down to see if that turns it off.
If it does not, and you have done the restore per this article:
How to restore your iPod:
1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. If the iPod's display doesn't show "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" you may need to put the iPod into disk mode to proceed.
4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Note: For Mac users, A message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator's name and password.
6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

The Play/Pause button on the shuffle is not working

My shuffle just wont play songs nemore. Dunno why but all of a
sudden the play button wont work. When i switch it on the green light turns on for 3 secs n all the other keys like next,previous and the volume buttons work but not the play\pause one....... Please Help

Laptop's AC adapter is making laptop turn off with the slightest touch!?!

toshiba satelite something. i don't know what it is. it's my boyfriends laptop.if you move thepower cable even just a little bit, it loses power and shuts off. it doesn't look or feel loose, how can i fix this problem? also, his battery on that pc doesn't work, where can i buy a new one?

There's a good chance that the wiring of the ac adapter in the cable near the end by the plug that goes into the laptop is broken inside the insulation, even though it looks fine from the outside. Flexing this broken wiring even slightly will cause it to make intermittent contact. Had the same problem with the adapter for my son's POS Acer laptop just last month. And him being about as handy as a two-peckered goat, I had to repair it for him, lol...
Either that, or the power jack on the laptop itself could be going bad. It pays to develop simple troubleshooting skills.

Let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the recovery and DFU mode again.
If still problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Why are the forward and backward buttons so close to the play/pause button on the lock screen?

The quickest way to control the playing of music or podcasts is on the lock screen after double tapping the button. The controls for forward, rewind and play/pause are way too close together. There seems to be no logical reason for having them so close when there is room on the screen. Is there a way of moving these buttons?

Two days ago i dropped my iPod Touch 3g and when I picked it up it wont turn on, so i took it to a repair shop but now everytime it gets the slightes bump it restarts by its self.. I really need help, could someone tell what to do? PlEASE

It is most likely damage resulting from the fall. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store. Be prepared to purchase a replacement, though.

If your iPod touch unexpectedly powers off, you may want to use the steps in this article to troubleshoot -
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting (The steps apply for the iPod touch) -
Specifically -
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
