My Nano suddenly went into voice over mode and I cannot make it stop.

It started reading menus and options when I turned it on recently; I didn't go near any setup screens. It talks even after I've selected and started to listen to a pod cast. It will start over again in the middle of the pod cast for no apparent reason. I've already tried restoring factor settings.

That's how I got it to work

  • IPod nano and Voice Over mode problems

The iPod Nano keeps going into Voice Over mode despite it being in the "Off" position under settings.  Am I doing something to override the settings and how can I get it to stop?

you may have enable voice over set in the iTunes settings
to turn it off do the following
    -connect ipod to computer
-when ipod shows up in the left column of iTunes under "devices" click on the ipod name
-in the summary page, scroll down to the bottom of the page until you get to a section that says "options"
-under options deselect the checkbox next to "enable voice over"
-click apply and that should turn it off
    hope this helps:)

  • Iphone 5s on iOS 8 stuck in accessibility voice over mode

Not actually a question, but more of a solution!!!
I went to my local Indian restaurant earlier and his phone was stuck in Accessibility mode. Having come home, and fiddling around with Settings > Accessibility > Voice Over, I accidentally turned voice over on, and the same problem persisted with me.
Firstly, a message came on my screen to ask whether or not I wanted to confirm, and if I wanted to cancel - press the home screen button. Having pressed the home screen button, the message stayed on the screen and the voice over kept repeating itself.
I then tried to restart my phone (Home and lock) but then I was just stuck within my lock screen and couldn't input my password.
    To fix:
Double tap the home button to get onto your password lock screen.
Click the first digit of your password so the voice over repeats the number. Then double click the number again. - this should register.
Repeat the process until all digits have registered (it may take some perseverance). Your phone should unlock once all digits have registered.
Click settings (until it repeats the word) and then double click. You will notice, trying to scroll down that you are unable to. Turn your phone onto Aeroplane mode (you should have got the gist of how to select things and turn things on/off by now).
Once your phone is in aeroplane, click accessibility and then voice over, and once turned off your phone will work fine.

Recovery mode doesn't mean that all your data is already lost. You only lose your data if you restore it.
When you plug the phone is into iTunes hold down the home button. iTunes may then give you the option JUST to update the software first. This should not get rid of any data.
However, if iTunes is only giving you the option to RESTORE and update, then you will lose your data I'm afraid.
    Hope that helps!

  • How do I enter passcode in voice over mode?

Hi, Don't know I did it, but I activated voice over mode on Ipad 1. Now can;t enter passcode. Any help appreciated.

Touch or tap the field that you want to use/select and it should get a box around it ; then double-tap that field to activate/type it. Once you've entered your password you can do the same (i.e. touch to select, double-tap to activate) to gradually get into  Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off.

My iPod nano will go into the sleep mode while a song is playing a second after the screen goes blank; the song will stop and I will then have to press the sleep/awake button to pick up where the song left off.  How do I fix this?

Your problem is that your iPod is not sensing that your headset is inserted. There is a pin inside the headphone port on the Nano that senses if it is inserted fully. If it does not sense anything, it will pause playback to save battery power when the screen dims. Here are the solutions:
Insert it fully. This will fix it for most of you. Press that thing in there all the way. You should feel and hear a full click when it is fully seated. If you can see ANY silver of the headset jack, it is not fully inserted.
Debris inside the headset port. If you are totally unable to push the headset jack all the way, the most likely problem is that you have crud inside your headphone jack. Try blowing it out or slapping it against your palm with the headset port facing your palm to try and get the stuff out. If you look into he jack with a light, you should be able to see to the bottom. The entire inside of the headset port is white, so if it looks dark at the bottom, that is the crud that is keeping your nano from working.
Headset jack or plug issue. If you cannot solve the problem with 1 or 2, then there is likely something physically wrong with either the headset jack on your headphones or the headset port on the nano.
If none of the above works, you need to take it to the Apple store or wherever you purchased it. I think they are still under warranty.

The subject line says it all...
Upgraded BB 8330 to ver 4.5 and BlueAnt Z9i doesn't go into voice isolation mode or shut off.
I don't know if the two problems are related or mutually exclusive.
    Thanx,
    um

Exact same machine, exact same problem!
I use mine for DJing - and as you can imagine this isn't the time of year for this to happen - pick up a new pro on Tuesday.
However if there's a fix, it'd be nice to have a back up machine ( I never thought I'd need one to be honest)
I've looked on the net and most people are saying GPU issues.
Gonna strip it down and take the logic board out. Might look at reflowing it ( got nothing to lose) or see if I can track down a logic board (although buying a new MBP was probably a cheaper option!)
    Cheers

  • Cannot log into any GUI modes and need to reinstall OSX

    Hi all,
I've been having issues with my iMac 27" i7 desktop which I purchased back in 2011 with OSX Lion.
I recently updated to OSX Mavericks and have some issues which I am trying to resolve.
I have been working through troubleshooting with the Apple Support team as it is still covered by the extended warranty that I purchased with the system.  Unfortunately it appears that we have come to the end of their technical support capabilities and I have no resolution.   Here is a quick breakdown of the situation:
While doing some gaming in a Bootcamp copy of Windows 7 the computer froze and displayed a green screen with vertical lines and was unresponsive.
Rebooted the machine into OSX Mavericks (upgraded about a month ago from Lion) and after the Apple symbol and loading wheel, when the machine went to display my desktop it froze with a completely white screen.
Tried to reboot back into Windows 7 and when it went to display the desktop it went to a grey screen with vertical lines.
Called the Apple Support line who advised me how to log into Safe Mode.   This worked ok and then I rebooted into OSX properly and my desktop displayed albeit running very slow.
Backed up my data and then while doing some web browsing the computer locked up and went to a blank screen.
Called the Apple Support line who took me into Recovery Mode and got me to Verify the Disk and Verify Disk Permissions.  Also advised me to run Apple Hardware Test.
Ran Apple Hardware Test and it said that there are "no problems"
Booted back into OSX which worked ok but still very slow.
During a data transfer the computer locked up with a black screen and the rainbow spinning wheel and was unresponsive.
After a few attempts I was able to log back in and complete my backup of crucial files.
Yesterday I went to boot the computer and it again gets to point after the Apple symbol and loading wheel where it would display my desktop and goes to blank screen.  Apple Support advised that the next step for testing purposes is to format the HDD and reinstall OSX.
No matter whether I am trying to boot into OSX, Safe Mode, Recovery Partition or Internet Recovery (I have tried all numerous times) whenever it gets to a point where the GUI would be displayed the machine locks up and I get a blank white screen.  I logged into Single-User Mode and ran a file system check which came up ok and I have run AHT again which came up ok as well, however considering that it doesn't matter where I boot to the same error occurs I believe that the issue is probably hardware related rather than software.  I have also followed the instructions to clear the PVRAM
I have booted to OSX using Verbose mode and noticed that there are a number of SMC errors and other messages indicating that there may be some software issues, so I am trying to troubleshoot those before I take the machine to the Authorised Apple Repair Centre
I have created an OSX Mavericks Boot USB but that comes up with a white screen as well if I boot to it.
I'm not sure if it will help, but I can select my recovery partition (OSX Base System) during boot and load into single user mode there.   I'm curious whether (and how) to run diskutils from there to verify disk and permissions for my primary partition (lets call it "Lion").  Then erase the disk and reinstall OSX from my boot USB.

You have to start the miniSAP instance before you can log in to it.
On your desk top there should be an icon 'start SAP WA1' start that, and leave the DOS window running until you are finished.
If you get messages in the DOS window saying processes died check that MS loopback is running.
