My nano will no longer sync to itunes.  I tried to restore nano and received error message 1437 that nano could not be restored.

My nano will no longer sync to itunes.  I tried to restore it and error message 1437 said it could not be restored.  Any thoughts on how I can sync or restore?

Good day billoelwein,
If you are having an issue with your iPod nano being unable to restore,  you may want to first try resetting the iPod. See the directions in this article -
Reset your iPod - Apple Support
If the issue is still present after a reset, you may need to restore your iPod nano back to factory settings. See this article -
Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I made the mistake of resetting my iPod to factory defaults. Now it will only partially sync to my music library. I continually get an error message saying that certain songs are not authorized for my computer, although they are in the iTunes library on the computer and will play. It's these songs that won't transfer to the iPod. I have deauthorized and re-authorized the computer but no joy. Any ideas?

    Hello there DesertRat71,
I was thinking that some of the songs in your library may have been purchased under a different apple id. You have already done the first thing I would have done by de authorizing and re authorizing. To verify this, highlight one of the songs that will not sync over and use File>Get Info. Here is the help menu link for it if you need it help://bookmark='https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/11.0/help/index.html?localePa th=English.lproj#itns2937'
In the Summary section there will be an Apple ID entry. If it shows something different than what you are currently using then I recommend signing into the Apple ID it shows and authorizing the computer for that one as well.
    All the best,
    Sterling

After downloading it ( Run now or Saving it) it will no run because I keep receiving a message saying that Windows can not open this file because it could not verify Apple's Digital Signature. I have changed my internet security settings to allow downloads from unverified websites but it will not allow me to run Itunes. I had an older version of Itunes so I tried to install the update and it wouldn't work because so the same message about not being able to verify the digital signature.  I uninstalled Itunes and Quicktime and all other Apple programs on my system. Then I tried to download it again... no luck the same message came up again. I then went to my other computer that NEVER HAD ANY APPLE software on it and tried to download Itunes. It gave me the same message. Please help me, I'm going crazy tring to figure this out.

Used online version of windows registry tool "Fix It" (can also download portable version for offline check. I selected Apple updater utility from list to fix and it did it's thing. Returned to my downloaded 10 iTunes adn isntalled perfectly fine.

  • HT1386 i'm receiving error message; "The iPhone "___" could not be synched beacuse the sync session failed to start."

this is continually happening.  This iPhone 4 had corporate information on it.  When I left the company on Monday, they remote-wiped the phone.  I knew this would happen.  Now I can't sync it at all!!!
I started from "new" and attempted to rebuild from scratch.
    USB not working properly
    WiFi not working properly
    iCloud brought most apps back
    iTunes brought most apps back
    I'm using:
    iTunes v10.6.3.25
    iOS: 5.1.1
it all appears to be 'ok' then i spend an hour arranging the way-too-many apps--then i get the error that the iPhone will not start the session.
I do NOT get the circular arrows indicating sync on the phone
iTunes DOES attempt to talk to the phone (so it appears in the top dialog bar)
How to I force the session to start?
Thx, Frustrated in Miami -- (this is not a time to talk to Apple with the iPhone 5 craziness!)

    This may help you

  • I had trouble updating itunes to the latest version.  It suggested I manually install and that failed.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that gave me an error message stating that I could not open itunes because MSVCR82.dll was missing. Help!

When I tried to update to the latest version of itunes, I kept getting a message saying installation failed and if the problem persisted I should try to install manually.  When that failed I uninstalled and tried to reinstalled, then I got messages saying MSVCR.dll is missing and could not open itunes.  Any solutions out there?

  • TS3218 iPod nano: Error message saying that iPod 'could not be identified properly'

If I remove itunes and reinstall it will I lose all of my purchased downloads

I spend several hours removing and reinstalling iTunes, resetting my iPod etc.  This worked for me.
    1- Open Control Panel
    2- Go to Add/Remove Programs
    3- Remove Apple Software Updates
    4- Remove Apple Mobile Devices
    5- Remove iTunes
    6 - Re-install iTunes
I found that a few days earlier there was an update on Apple Software Updates and Apple Mobile Device which may have caused some sort of conflict.  After I re-installed iTunes all of the above programs were re-installed, my music was there and everything worked fine.

Are you using the original cable that came with Nano and not your iPhone's cable?  Have you worked through the troubleshooting in this Apple support document?

  • My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.

My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.  it tells me it cannot read the contents of the ipod then it says the ipod software server cannot be contacted.  Any suggestions?

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
    Then try restoring again.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

  • IPhone 5s will no longer sync to iTunes now that I download iOS 8.1.2

iPhone 5s will no longer sync to iTunes now that I downloaded iOS 8.1.2 I get the message that it "failed to sync because the sync failed to start." Doesn't work with cable or over WiFi. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Before connecting your device to iTunes to sync, double-click the Home button, and close all open apps by sliding up on the thumbnails until all open apps are closed. Then try the sync again.

B-rock, thanks for posting the above.  I actually have the same issue, running Windows XP and I don't have that backup location, \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\.  When I go to Documents and Settings\(username)\ there's a AppData folder followed by:\LocalLow\DataMngr\ .
I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message.  I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?
    Thank you!
