  • How do I get my outgoing mail to work using Network Solutions email

I use Network Solutions to host my URL and email. I had Thunderbird working but my computer crashed. I had to reinstall Windows and Thunderbird. I now cannot get my outgoing email to work. I've tried different SSL, Port, and Authentication settings with no success. Does anyone know how to setup Network Solutions email in Thunderbird?

Have you asked Network Solutions about the correct server settings?
Presumably they do have a support web site.

  • EMAIL OUTGOING DOES NOT WORK

    email outgoing doe not work

This fixed it on mine.  In Mail.app:
    1) Mail menu | Preferences.
    2) Select problematic account in list on left.
    3) Select "Edit SMTP Server List..." from Outgoing Mail Server drop-down.
    4) Fix username by appending domain name
(append "@gmail.com" if standard account, or your own domain if apps user).
    5) Re-enter password.
    Save your preferences.

  • Can't get Email client to work with Network Solutions Email server

This is a new Email account started after I installed Snow Leopard. The Email server is Network Solutions. I have tried all afternoon and evening trying to set up just one account / mailbox on the Mac and I still haven't gotten it to work. I have been over the settings multiple times with Network Solutions and they tell me all the settings are correct, but still no joy. When I try to 'Get Mail' it simply spins its wheels for a minute or so then displays a (!); i.e. it times out and stops trying. I don't know if it is something about Network Solution's servers that is causing the problem or if it something wrong on my end (most likely). Any idea what I can try? Is there a log someplace that will tell me exactly what part of the process is failing?

Problem solved. For some reason the POP client had 'SSL' turned on. Guess I set it by accident during one of my many tries. All is well now.

  • Outgoing mail server not recognized

    Hi there
After a week of having Snow Leopard my outgoing mail address is now suddenly rejected by the server. I have tried to delete my mail box but that doesn't work.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Ian

    I looked this up:
    Account information
    account type POP
    Email adress : (your address)
    File name : (your name)
    Incoming server:pop.prodigy.net.mx
    username:(your name)
    password:(your password)
outgoing server: (depends what you have configured) see further down.
tick the box use only this server
Under Advanced select advance on top of your menu.
Enable this account: tick this box
    Include when auto....etc:click this box
leave copy etc : do not tick box
Now still to configure outgoing server for that use connection doctor.
You find this in the drop down menu just beside left off the help drop down menu.
Click the doctor. The doctor goes scanning and find the incoming server a green indicator is lighted.
I t does not find out going server and a red light appears.
Double click on the message beside the red light
A menu appears for out going server.
In the top square empty all info that is there by clicking - (= the minus sign) under this top square
When empty click + to enter the details for outgoing server.
A light gray double click appears.
do that and fill in your details: smtp.prodigy.net .mx
give a name to this server:that name is the one I mentioned above depends etc
    click apply.
Close the window and you will be asked to save if it is not saved already.
Remember my first advise above when you still can not get connected the reason may be that your provider use a dynamic DNS address the changes every tim you log in for this change the DNS address as in my previous advise.
Please let me know if it works for you.Connection Doctor is the only way I could reach quick access to outgoing server.
Alternatively delete all the accounts and just follow the procedure for adding account.
Wait until the server is found take quite some time but you may still have patience after this.
I have spend 3 days to get it all right! and 3 hours phone my provider and 3 hour Apple

  • Email outgoing server authentication

Is there a way of turning on outgoing server authentication. On the email that is built in the n95-8gb?
What I am trying to do is setup an live pop3 account mailplus
I can read my emails but can not send any.
Our POP service requires that you use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with the POP and SMTP connection and use SMTP authentication. This is to ensure that your email address and password are not subject to tampering. The settings are the following:
    POP: pop3.live.com (port 995)
    SMTP: smtp.live.com (port 25)
Note: make sure you check the box that indicates that your outgoing server requires authentication (in most mail clients this is not checked by default).
    Username: your full email address
Password: your Windows Live ID password

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
When a solution is found please mark the post that solves your issue.

  • Email outgoing will not work

I am not sure but all of a sudden (when I am out of town for business) my outgoing email will not sent.

The outgoing mail server is rejecting mail from your network address. Typically that happens when your mail service provider is also your ISP, and you connect to it from another network. The SMTP server will allow connections without a password from anywhere, but it will only relay mail from within the ISP's network. It could also be that your account on the server has expired or been suspended.
If you need to send mail from outside your ISP's network, either use the webmail interface, or use an independent mail service provider. I don't have a specific recommendation.

  • Network Solutions Email.

    My network solutions

I just went through this with a brand new Verizon Q10 yesterday.  I actually got a great Verizon support person on the phone with me and together we called someone at Network Solutions support.  It was what a friend of mine would call a hot mess.  Not so much from the Verizon person, but it's like we were speaking chinese and they were speaking old English.  This went on - and I am not kidding - for about half an  hour.  NS tried ultimatley to sell me a special BlackBerry "program" that would allow emails to flow.  I passed.  Went back and did some more digging (the Verizon person was kind enough to give me their email to continue to sort this out).  Finally I found this official release from BlackBerry:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do;jsessionid=33508CE8C6C8F01CFDCB79F3C10F3BCA?...
The final bit of info under "Additional Information" was the solution.  I went in to the ADVANCED set up when adding an account and by replacing with the correct servers (mail.nameofserver.com) and  ports [at least for Verizon] (110 incoming, 586 outgoing), said no to encryption, hit enter - and in 5 seconds I had functioning email on my BlackBerry from a NS domain.
I just hope it continues to work  :-)

  • Outlook 2007 - hotmail not not populating in outlook - incoming/outgoing server not working

Hi - I am switching computers and have reinstalled Outlook 2007.  When I add my account  it asks for incoming/outgoing mail server information from my ISP.   I am unable to look on previous laptop set up as the "repair"
portion of account is not highlighted and I can't get to that level to see it. I contacted my ISP (Comcast) who provided: Incoming Server: mail.comcast.net and Outgoing Server: smtp.comcast.net.  They also provided incoming mail server: port
number 995 (POP3) 110 (POP3); and outgoing mail server: 465(SMTP) 587(SMTP).   This is not working.     Who has a solution?
P.S. Comcast is my new provider as of 3 weeks ago and no issues with old laptop--also that would not have been my incoming/outgoing server information then.  thank you

  • ISP server not recognizing mail password

This has been going on for a couple of weeks. I get a warning that my ISP server isn't recognizing my mail password. The password hasn't changed, so I re-enter the password, check the box about remembering password in keychains. This may happen several times in one day & then it goes away for a few days ,but starts up again. It has started up again this morning x3 & I 'm at a loss as to what to do to fix it since I've only been on the Mac since last October. Thanks for any suggestions!

    Hi Debbie,
Ernie's almost certainly right about this being an ISP-side issue. For what it's worth, I occasionally get a similar message from Entourage about 'password not recognized, do I want to try to enter it again' during the periodic (5 minutes) check of the mail server on my work Mac. If the network goes out briefly or the servers bog down (both of which our IT department swears never, ever, well hardly ever happens), the business of sending the account password to the ISP's server and getting back an acknowledgement break down. Like you, I've found that when this starts happening, I just keep trying to reconnect until it works again, after which it will typically run OK for several weeks (until the next network upgrade).

  • Email outgoing server

    Hello:
I am presently using my email host's outgoing server, but they have problems (quite often). So, I assume I can use Verizon's outgoing email server, but I do not know what it is. I use SMTP at the moment, but may use IMAP later, so the names of both servers (and corresponding ports) would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Hans L

What are my incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server addresses?:
If your email address ends with @twc.com:
    POP Server Address: mail.twc.com
    SMTP Server Address: mail.twc.com
If your email ends with @rr.com:
POP Server Address: pop-server-location(for example: nyc)-rr.com (Note: your individual POP server name will have the same ending as your TWC Mail address, i.e., [email protected])
SMTP Server Address: smtp-server-location(for example: nyc)-rr.com (Note: your individual POP server name will have the same ending as your TWC Mail address, i.e., [email protected])
    Good Luck

  • Outgoing server not working now

i have a mbp and g5 desktop. both mail programs are setup the same. my mbp mail's outgoing server is not connecting or working all of a sudden....worked yesterday fine. my g5 is working fine. my mbp is wireless....my g5 is hardwired into the modem. any thoughts?
i havent moved im in my house it worked fine yesterday and the past year. anythoughts?

What does “is not connecting or working” mean? What’s the problem exactly?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Try also turning OFF all the network port configurations except the one needed to connect to Internet and see whether that makes a difference — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Also, try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc.

  • Can't send emails - outgoing server issues

Randomly my phone won't let me send an email. It sits in the Outbox unsent and never sends.
But strangely I'm able to receive emails. I have 3 email accounts set up on my phone, I've never had a problem until now - Over the weekend I updated to iOS 7.0.2 this may have changed something in the settings....
When I go to send it's says "CANNOT SEND MAIL, CHECK THE ACCOUNT SETTINGS FOR THE OUTGOING SERVER" - I've checked the settings, but don't know what i'm looking for
    Can anyone assist?
    thanks
    VB

Mail keeps information about outgoing servers in a separate list, independently of any specific mail account. The account settings just associate one of the available outgoing servers with each account. Deleting an account doesn't remove the outgoing server from the list. Orphaned or dangling outgoing server entries (i.e. not associated with any account) sometimes cause sending problems, so you may want to fix that, even though it could very well have nothing to do with your problem -- actually, it could very well be that you don't have a problem, and this is just a transient error.
Go to Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), choose Edit Server List from the popup menu, and delete any servers that shouldn't be there. The Edit Server List sheet shows the account each outgoing server is associated with.
Alternatively, Mail comes with some scripts available under the Script menu when that menu is enabled. There is a Manage SMTP Servers there that finds any unused outgoing mail servers and gives you the option to delete them. Type "Script Menu" in Mail Help for more information on this feature.

  • How can i link my E-mail with my iPad in a way that i can delete my messages from my email inbox server not from my iPad inbox only?

How can i link my E-mail with my iPad in a way that i can delete my messages from my email inbox server also not from my iPad inbox only?
Because when i delete emails from my iPad inbox, it will be deleted on my iPad only but when i check my email inbox server from the browser its not deleted!
So how can i set up this link so when i delete any email from my iPad it will be deleted from my email inbox server also?

    Hi Pierrot10,
Insert your backup disc (or plug your external hd), then open Mail.
In the File menu, click *Import Mailboxes* and follow the steps for a *Mail for Mac OS X* transfer.
Navigate to your CD/DVD's or external HD's backup and hit "OK".
This should create a new "Imported" folder in Mail with all your old messages in it, that you can then rearrange as you wish, creating new mailboxes etc.
