My new 4S does not recognize my SIM contacts

Just bought an unlocked 4S, iOS 5.1.1, no updates required. SIM displays all contacts while in other phones (contacts are stored on the SIM itself), but while in iPhone, no contacts are visible, yet no error messages present. Does this have a standard solution?...

Gosh, so easy!!! Haven't scrolled down the whole menu...
Many thanks!!! Problem resolved.

Ask the carrier in the US who the phone is locked to if they will unlock it for you - put an unlock request into that carrier.
Other than that and if they refuse to unlock it, then there is nothing you can do except buy a new phone.

  • A new Iphone does not come with SIM? If no... Can I by a SIM in Apple Store?

I've bought a new 5s but I did not receive it yet.  I'd like to know if it comes with SIM card or I need to buy it. In case I need to buy, can I buy it in the Apple Store?

That depends on how you bought the phone.  A carrier linked phone will come with a sim card.    An unlocked phone usually does not have a sim card.
Sim cards can be bought from your Cell carrier's stores. Apple does not sell sim cards.

  • New MacBook does not recognize bluetooth mouse

I just migrated to a new MacBook, running (OS10.6.8) and it will not recognize my Logitech Bluetooth laser mouse. The mouse works just fine with my old MacBook. I downloaded control center, but that also does not recognize the mouse. Any help would be appreciated.

"browse device" showed the mouse, but said it was not connected. I started the setup assistant, but it did not seem to see the mouse. But I noticed a tiny button on the bottom of the mouse labelled "connect" and pushing that while running setup assistant seems to have done the trick. Now I hope it "sticks".
Thanks to IAmMe123 for pointing me down the right path.

  • New Macbook does not recognize Time Capsule backup from old macbook

I just purchased a late 2013 13" macbook pro. I have a mid 2009 macbook pro running Mavericks. The new macbook will not recognize the time capsule backup from my old macbook. I am trying to migrate all data over, but the new mac does not ever acknowledge the external drive that contains the backup. I've tried two different external drives with the same result each time. Both computers are running Mavericks.

Do you see the drive in Disk Utility?
If yes, run Repair Permissions then restart the drive.
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
    2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
    3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
    4. Click the repair permissions button.
In System Preferences > Time Machine can you select the old Time Machine with Select Disk?

  • My 5S does not recognize the SIM card although the card is recognized by another phone

I bought a new SIM card in Brazil for my 5S after it was blocked because I had lost it for about six weeks.
The phone did not recognize the SIM card. Thinking it was a hardware problem i took it to an Apple store in the US where the assistant showed that her sim card was recognized by my phone. However my SIM card continued not to work in Brazil. A colleague's SIM will not work either in my phone but my SIM card will work in her phone. What could be the problem?

What is the EXACT message you get?

  • ITunes library saved on external hard drive. iTunes on new computer does not recognize.

Hi, My entire iTunes library (roughly 100gb for iPod Classic) has been saved to an external hard drive. I just built a new computer (Windows 7), and loaded the latest version of iTunes. I have changed the library location in Preferences on both the General tab and the Advanced tab to reflect the location on the external hard drive. The new library location has been saved, but the music on the external hard drive still does not show up in my iTunes library. The only things that show up in my iTunes library are only a few items that have apparently been saved to iCloud (although I never set up an iCloud account - nor do I want one). How do I get iTunes to recognize the external hard drive library instead of the other? Thank you.

Thanks. Realized something though...on the old computer, Windows XP had a problem (R6034) that prevented iTunes from opening or upgrading.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • New itunes does not recognize outlook calendars?

New iTunes update does not "see" my Outlook calendars, so will not synch. The Contacts work fine.
This is true for both my iphone 4s and Ipad.....my iPhone has been upgraded to IOS7, the iPad has not, so seems to be an itunes issue.

    Hi Sergio,
Try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692
The steps for Resetting the Sync History will most likely resolve the issue.

  • ITunes does not recognize Outlook 2007 contacts or calendar

I have a PC running Vista and Outlook 2007. I have Microsoft Exchange Server, and local Oulook with a Personal folder with contact and calendar groups. I do not have a business account on my new iPhone 3G. I just want to bring over my personal contacts and calendar. When I connect the phone (without being connected to MS Exchange Server), iTunes does not give me a choice of any of my personal contacts or calendar groups. It only shows me the Exchange Server "calendar" and "contacts". I went ahead and did a sunch of the calendar, and got the Exchange Server calendar. This is not what I wanted.
I would imagine other people have the same configuration and want to do the same thing, hoping someone solved this. iPhone tech support has not been able to solve it yet. It seems like iTunes can't recognize my personal folders.
I hope someone might have an answer. Thanks for reading my issue.

how i can solve these problems and how to upgrade to android 2.3

Not sure if upgrading to 2.3 will solve the problems you mentioned.
Some people are stating that after going to 2.3 their phones became unstable.
On the other hand there are many people who have gone to 2.3 and have no issues. eg myself.
If you want to go to Android 2.3, then no point in trying to solve the problems you have currently on Android 2.1
To update your phone to Android 2.3 there are 3 ways to do it. Two are official methods and one unofficial way.
    Official methods.
    1. Use PC Companion to perform the update.
    2. SE Update service ( http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe )
    Unofficial method
Manually flash the firmware. Check out the following post

  • Nokia 1661 does not recognize sim

Hello everyone, I am desperately needing help. My nokia 1661 does not recognize my sim. I am using a O2 sim. Please don't tell me to get a new sim because I have 30 pounds on that sim and lots of vouchers and other stuff.

    Hi HenryJia,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
If your 1661 has been locked to another operator it will not accept the SIM. Do you see a notification when you start the phone or does it display 'no service' or 'offline'. Have your tried to change the phone profile to the general profile? You can do this by going to Menu>Settings>Profiles>General 'activate'.
Have you tried if the SIM does work in another phone or another SIM in your 1661?
    Hope his helps,
    Kosh

  • IMac does not recognize all photos in iPad photostream

My new imac does not recognize all the pictures in my ipad photostream.  I have over 800 pix in my ipad photostream and imac will only recognize 300 when i have it plugged in to import.  Any ideas?

Nevermind, I just spoke with my wife who imported the pictures last night just from that event. She did not delete them after importing either. I guess next time this happens I will uncheck the box that says "Do not import duplicates" to troubleshoot.
