My new computer won't sync with my phone

I had synced my old computer (Windows 7, Firefox) with my phone (Android, Firefox). Old computer broke, bought new computer (Windows 8), synced new computer, got all old bookmarks back. So far, so good. However, I can't seem to get any new bookmarks added on my phone on this computer or added on this computer on my phone. Syncing apparently happens every day, but not between these two.
How do I fix this?

Are you getting any error?
Did you setup the SYNC without error?
REMOVE your SYNC, restart your mobile and reSYNC it

  • HT1848 I downloaded an audio book on computer; won't sync with I-Phone... how do I get it into my I-phone?

I downloaded an audio book to my window's computer from I-Tunes; cannot get it into my I-Phone from sync. How do i do this or is it there and I cannot find it?

How have you tried to sync it ? With the phone connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you should be able to use the Books tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select and sync the audiobook to the phone's Music app - if there are audiobooks on your phone then you should get an Audiobooks option in the Music app.

Can so one please let me know were Kim going wrong, I have authorized my computer to itunes I really don't know what to do now?

Need to Resume download to complete the ongoing Process.
Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.

  • Music folder transferred to a new computer won't sync

my iTunes folder contains approximately 8,000 songs. the computer on which it's stored is no longer working properly, so i saved my itunes folder onto an external hard drive, then uploaded it to a new laptop. now, when i attempt to sync my entire music library from the new computer, it only syncs my purchased music.
the files have transferred successfully, as i can click on any given song and it will indeed play (on the computer).
it's almost as though my music non-purchased music folder is saved in the wrong place, or that my ipod is not pointing to the right folder.
any idea how to combat this problem?

    Hi HB3207!
I have a couple of suggestions for you to attempt to resolve this issue. First, I would try re-creating your iTunes library following the instructions listed here:
iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451
You may also need to simply try restarting your phone and attempting to sync again after a restart. Information on completing this can be found here:

  • New iMac won't sync with Mobile Me

I have a brand new, just out of the box last night, iMac, and I cannot get it to sync with Mobile Me.
It's an Intel Core 2 Duo, running 10.5.4.
Apparently it will not be recognized as 'registered'. The 'register this computer' window in MobileMe is just spinning, has been for half an hour. Nor does it show any of my other computers which are registered, and synced, eg., the MacBookPro, the Duel 800, nor a G4iBook. All are registered, all sync. But not the new iMac.
My phone call last evening to Apple Customer Support was a waste: he told me he didn't know about Mobile Me, and to contact them online. I did that, but Michael R. had no clue either. He told me to re-set Sync, and restart the computer. I did; it didn't fix the problem, and of course it broke the connection with him. By that time, they'd closed for the night; and they are not up for business yet on the east coast.
Can anyone help me get Mobile Me to recognize that the new iMac IS registered, such that it will let me sync my mail accounts.
So far, when I open the Mobile Me window, and try to check the box marked 'Synchronize with MobileMe', it won't let me-- everything is greyed out. When I click Advanced, and try to register the iMac, it just spins and spins...
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Hal

  • Computer won't sync with icloud

After installing Lion and enabling icloud on my macbook pro...it won't sync to icloud.  I've logged in on the internet to see my icloud account and no new entries put in my calendar from my laptop are there.  New enteries from my iphone 4s are in icloud (on line) - but are not synced to the computer or vice versa?  What's up?

There's no need to do anything on the phone which is plainly working.
While in theory I agree with you 99%, I've noticed iCloud seems so glitchy at times, (new technology?) that I've seen enough strange things so I try to make sure I don't burn off an extra 4 hours of trouble-shooting because of one little step such as this.

  • New iphone won't sync with my account

I've had a 3GS and now have a new iphone 4.  I've plugged it into my existing itunes on my laptop and it won't sync apps, music, or anything.  The sync starts and finishes without updating anything.
    Any advice??
    Thanks

It is not devices, it is computers only. You can have up to 5 computers authorized with the same iTunes account.
The computer you are using is not activated with your iTunes account with iTunes? If not, is a computer available that is activated with your iTunes account? You can deactivate all computers from one computer that is activated following by activating the computer you are using now.

  • Old computer crashed; loaded iTunes to new computer, won't sync my iPod

The computer I initially set up my 60g iPod video crashed (windows based). I loaded iTunes on my new computer (also windows based) and even entered my iPod serial number. When I plug it into the USB port, iTunes recognizes the iPod (with my name) and even shows all the songs and videos on the screen, but they are in faded gray and I can't highlight them or upload them into iTunes. When the iPod is first plugged in, I get the message about the iPod being authorized on another computer and can set it up on the new one, but then it would remove the entire contents and update with the new library which has nothing in it.
Is there any way to upload my iPod contents into the newly loaded iTunes on my new computer? I got an iTouch for X-Mas and I am hoping that when I load that software, it will recognize my older iPod's music library and upload it. Of course, this won't matter if I can't get my old stuff into me new iTunes.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Moved i-tunes to new computer, won't sync purchased songs?

I have recently moved my i-tunes library over to a new computer. When I go to update mt i-pod now it doesn't update any purchased music, even though these ar showing in my music library.
Someone please help as some of my most recent and favourite albumns won't update.

Choose Authorize Computer from the Store menu in iTunes, or play back one of the purchased songs on your computer; in either case, provide the username and password associated with your iTunes Store account. This needs to be done before any purchased music can be synced from that computer to the iPod.

  • New computer - won't sync w/Nano

I got a new PC. I put my iTunes library from the old computer onto CDs, loaded them onto iTunes on the new PC. That went fine, but now when I buy new songs from the Music Store, iTunes won't transfer them to my iPod Nano. When I try to sync, I get a message that says those songs were not transferred, because "you're not authorized to play them on this computer." Is there a fix for this?

  • New computer, won't sync some songs

I have a new computer. Launched iTunes, authorized the computer. Thirteen of my purchased songs won't load onto the nano because it says the computer is not authorized to play them. I played each of the songs in iTunes and authorized each individually when asked. They still won't sync--I get the same message. This worked the last time (after a hard drive crash), but it isn't working now. Any advice?

    Hello,
First, I want to check to make sure your purchases have all been made with the same iTunes Store account. If you've ever used multiple accounts, then you need to make sure your computer is authorized for the account that was used to purchase that music. You can determine which account was used by right clicking on the file and choosing Get Info. Click on the Summary tab, and in the middle portion of the window, right-hand column, you'll see the iTunes Store account information used to purchase that song.
If the computer has been authorized for that account and it still refuses to let you use those tracks, try the steps in this article:

    Good luck,
