My new i phone 5 wont sync with my laptop, keeps saying failed to connect to sync services. any help?

I just purchased a new i phone 5. when i go to connect with my laptop it says 'failed to connect to sync services, try again later' it shows my phone, and i can see my app screens, however it wont let me sync, back up or make changes. this is my first apple product, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start firefox and get to homepage . When proceeding to another link or page firefox stops responding and I get a black screen with a colored border stating at the top of the page that mozilla is not reponding. Try to go back to home page and mozilla shuts down. Any help would be appreciated. Prefer to use firefox over internet explorer in which case the problem is not duplicated. IE9 works fine. I created an account just to say that firefox is not what it used to be and I'm very disappointed in it and it's developers. I've been with firefox since the day of it's launch. Every new version after firefox 2 has been a let down--- what's the point when I get the same type of ridiculous crashes and freezes? What really annoys me is when I click "new" to create a new message to send within hotmail and it freezes for about 30 seconds to a minute. This happens every time without fail! I've updated a newer version 3 times and still the same thing. I've noticed that there have been more new releases, but I'm now convinced that it's only for show--- trying to stack up to Opera. Firefox copies off of Opera a lot, but it's too bad the developers can't copy it's stability. Who wants to have to read through forums looking for a fix... who has time for that? I don't want to, but I'm really considering leaving firefox for good. Please, get it together and FIX firefox.

How do you reset data on iCloud? My first device that moved to iCloud is not the most accurate. The only option iCloud gives is to merge. I want to erase and reset up with my laptop to iCloud then add my other devices? Any help?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Before you start, I'd export the data from the notebook to your desktop as a back up.
Turn syncing off, if it isn't already, on the notebook (system preferences > iCloud), delete the data from the first device, turn on syncing on the notebook and merge.

I did the new software update and now my phone wont work at all and keeps saying it needs to be restored from back up

I had my phone plugged in to my iTunes yesterday and downloaded the new software. I then went to install the new software and it crashed half way through with an error message. Then it went off completely and wiped everything. I tried to restore from back up and now it says it has restored from yesterdays back up, restarts afterwards and says it needs to restore from back up again. and just goes round and round doing that. Even if i try an earlier back up. I also tried wiping everything back to factory settings and restoring from back up and that did the same as above. Please help!!

Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

Apparently you already configured your account but you don't have nor the key or the password. You can get the password in the [https://account.services.mozilla.com/forgot following link] but you would need the Sync Key to sync your device to the rest of your devices.
If you don't have the Sync Key the best thing you can do is to reset it, by deleting the previous account and creating a new one with the same user. You can perform this tasks from your [https://account.services.mozilla.com/ account dashboard].

I'm not understanding what you're wanting. You don't sync ipad to iPad. You can sync both devices to the same iTunes account or same computer.
And you can choose the content on each device. I have an iPod and iPad and maintain separate content on each one.

HT5278 I have downloaded this update and now my i pod touch will not sync with my laptop and all my songs and downloads have been lost off my i pod.

Since downloading the ios5.1.1, my ipod touch has been erased of all my songs and downloads. I have tried to sync it again and again but it wont sync with my laptop or my wifes.
