My new iPad doesn´t want to wake up!!!

My iPad 1 was turned off and connected to a charger. It was charging for (approx) 45min and I wanted to turn it on but I can´t. When I press the On/Off button it does nothing. It is quite new, I got it at X-mas so I think there is no problem with charger. Can you help me?

  • Hey (: I have the new iPad and I want to ask what is "healthier" for the battery : turn the device off in the night or keep it on during the night ? Thank you !

Hey (: I have the new iPad and I want to ask what is "healthier" for the battery : turn the device off in the night or keep it on during the night ? Thank you !

    BTW, statements like
"Use the device until the battery has drained to the point of self-shutdown. Basically, use it until it turns itself off."
in articles like the one at http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/ are complete BS and if you do follow their "advice", your battery life will be severely hampered. Particularly if you also follow one of the comments: "Step One.One: Leave the device for 5+ hours before start charging. This will fully drain the battery." Well, the guy that advised the latter certanly doesn't know anyhting about lithium batteries and the damage deep discharging does to them.
Again, what the article (and the above-cited comment) advices is complete b*llsh*t and noone should really do this.

  • My friend's iPad doesn't want to buy anything

Hello guys! I have a very tragic story about the my friend's iPad. She recently bought some apps on her iPad, but iTunes store withdrew no money from her account. Today Appstore asked to recheck the payment card. During the checking process, it asked to contact the iTunes support to complete the payment process. My friend has enough money to buy that apps. Without this procedure, iPad doesn't want to buy any applications, or download free stuff.

Has she contacted iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ ?

  • I just bought a new iPad and I want to bring over all my apps from my first iPad but I don't have a computer, do I just use the cloud?

I just bought a new iPad and I want to bring over all my apps from my first iPad but I don't have a computer, do I just set up an icloud account and upload all the things from my first iPad and then connect the new iPad to the icloud using the same account and sync it?

No. You configure your new one to use the same Apple ID. Then re-download from iTunes:

  • Hello, i got a new iPad and i want to use iTunes U. It is on my iPad but i can not open It. Want should i do¿ Thank you

Bello, i got a new iPad and i wanted to use iTunes U. I instale debut i can not open It. What should i do. Thank you

    Hello Tuka66,
It sounds like you have installed the iTunes U app, but it is not working for you. I would try the troubleshooting steps from this article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting apps purchased from the App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702
    1. Update your device software
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
    2. Check for app updates
You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
If  prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the app updates.
Note: Some apps may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. You can also remove an app from your iOS device and download it again from the App Store or sync the app from your computer.Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.
    4. Restart the app
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app.
    5. Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
    6. Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:
Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-right corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
    Press the Home button.
    Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and then download it again.
Note: If it is a paid app, ensure you are using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it is not, you may be asked to purchase the app again. Learn more about downloading previously purchased items.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

Yes, if you don't use iCloud, you can sync your data through iTunes. Connect the device, select it from the device list, navigate to the info window and choose your sync settings there.

  • Notebook doesn't want to wake up

Hi,My laptop (Notebook HP Pavilion g7t-1100 CTO) have been working fine till today, I enabled Virtual Technology in BIOS and from that time laptop is not waking up after I slept it. When I disable VT it works fine again. I have installed two softwares: Windows 7 and Ubuntu and on both of them it doesn't want to wake up. Do you have any ideas how I can fix it?

    1. Verify that you have at least 10-15% free drive space at all times.
    2. Open Disk Utilities (Applications/Utilitites) First Aid, select your drive from the left and look at the bottom of the First Aid window and check the drives S.M.A.R.T. status, it should read "Verified".
    3. Download, Install and run Applejack:
    http://applejack.sourceforge.net/
    4. You said you tried resetting the PRAM, but I believe you want to reset the SMC for this particular problem. Did you reset the SMC? I will not hurt to reset them both. You said you took out the battery but there is a little more to it then that.
Once the battery is out you should press and hold the power-button for at least 5-sec.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
From the link above scroll to the bottom of the page, where you'll see a link named "_Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove_" select this link and a drop dosn set of instruction will appear, make sure you follow those instructions for your Mac.
