New iPad repeated requests for iCloud ID
Since setting up my new iPad (3rd generation) I have been plagued with repeated requests for my iCloud ID/Apple ID. It happens at least once a day, often when I open the device in the morning, but also happens during the day when waking the iPad from sleep. I never had this problem with my old iPad 2. Any help appreciated.
Librariand seems to be required by iCloud in combination with Evernote. Do you have Evernote installed?

HT201412 My new iPad asking for a passcode to log in, I've not set one up !!
I tried switching on an off and rebooting
Where did you get the iPad? You can always follow this procedure
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
but it's kind of suspect that it has a password on it. And this prompt occurs as soon as you turn the device on, before you get to the home screen? Did you have to "activate" the device yourself when it came out of the box? If you got it from the Apple Store you might want to return it to them.If you got the device from a 3rd party it could have been stolen. -
Hello,
My Ipad 2 suddenly is requesting I enter a passcode which I never had and dont have. I have followed the instruction to connect to Itunes up to the point of Restoring the device. What do I do to restore the device and why did a passcode request showed up.Thanks for your help in this matter.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

New iPad asking for passcode but I never set one - how do I unlock a code never set?
Just got my new iPad yesterday, have no kids or anyone else around who would mess with it while I'm in another room - go to wash the dishes, come back and it's asking me for a passcode to unlock. I had it running all last night - turned off, turn on, sync with macbook pro, blah blah blah, everything is great until tonight. What's going on? How do I unlock it?
Is your iPad new in the sense of being brand new or is it the latest generation?
If you do not have very much on it you could connect it to iTunes on your computer (if you use one) and on the screen that pops up starting with the Summary tab click on the Restore button further down. Be sure to set it up as a new device? You will lose any saved data but at least it will unlock your device. Alternatively, you could could do it through Settings on your ipad. Either way, you my have to redownload your purchased apps again. -
New iPad asking for passcode but didn't ask for one to be set during set up process, it only wanted my thumbprint. Is there easy way to solve?
I'm pretty sure you were asked to set up a passcode. It is required every time you power up the iPad after it has been powered down or reset. From the manual:
"The Setup Assistant guides you through the setup process, including:
Connecting to a Wi-Fi network
Signing in with or creating a free Apple ID (needed for many features, including iCloud, FaceTime, the App
Store, the iTunes Store, and more)
Entering a passcode
Setting up iCloud and iCloud Keychain
Turning on recommended features, such as Location Services
Activating iPad with your carrier (cellular models)"
If you have no recollection of it, all you can do is restore your iPad to factory settings, i.e. start again.

My new ipad wants a passcode, but I never gave it one. What do I do?
After I synced my new ipad and used it now wants a passcode this morning. What do I do?
Is this a work provided iPad? I can't remember exactly how this goes but if your company uses an Exchange server I have read where users discovered that their iPads were passcode locked and didn't realize it. I'm sorry but I can't remember the exact details.
If that is not the case you have to restore the device in order to unlock it - with the computer that you last synced to - in order to retain any data you have on the device. You can read about restoring here.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
And you can read about recovery mode here. This is what I think you will ultimately have to do, use recovery mode.

Hi everyone
I'm a new iPad user (ipad2) and have tried to download a few apps. I already have a iTunes/app store account but often when I try download a app I get a message that says "your request could not be processed"?It could be a problem at the other end, try again tomorrow. Also , try resetting your iPad by holding down the home and sleep/wake button till the Apple logo appears and then let it wake up, maybe that may help.
