My new iPad not recognised as a device in iTunes on my IMac - I have the latest version of iTunes, have tried logging off and on but still no device listed. Can anyone advise how to resolve this?
I am trying to sync my new iPad with iTunes on my iMac but when I attach the iPad to the computer via USB it still doesn;t show up as a device in iTunes. What am I doing wrong? I have checked all the tech specs and all seem ok. I bought the iPad in the U.S. - would this make a difference?
What you provided is not everything mentioned.
Your Mac is running 10.5.8 or later and iTunes 10?
You are connecting the iPad direct to a USB port on your Mac and you have tried every port?
You have reinstalled the Apple Mobile Device Service?
If your Mac is running Snow Leopard - 10.6, have you checked this link?

Hi,
If you have made a backup at any time of your iPod in iTunes, it should be in Preferences, under Devices tab.
In iTunes
Open iTunes Preferences.
From the Preferences window click on the Devices.
Once you are there you should see a list under "Device Backups:".
Hover your mouse pointer to the device and in a little while it should display the serial number of the device (with an iPhone it will also display a phone number used with it and the IMEI code and with an iPad it will display the IMEI in addition to the serial number).

Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

Wanting to connect an older G4 Powerbook running OS 10.4.11 to a Marantz SR4023 receiver amplifier with only RCA inputs to play iTunes through it on stereo speakers. Can anyone advise how to do this? Not tech savvy at all here, and will be happy with a simple hard wired connection. The Powerbook is old, and I no longer want to use it for anything but connecting iTunes radio, and my iTunes library to my stereo system.

Generally speaking, the output of a headphone port can often be used for the connection to an amplifier. You would need an appropriate cable (typically, 3.5 mm stereo plug to two RCA plugs). Choose a suitable amplifier input (high level). Do verify the allowed amplifier input voltage levels and the impedance before you connect.

My daughter has an iphone 5s and I have her old 3GS. She receives all my imessages that I rcv or send to other people. Can anyone advise how to stop this? we have removed the 3gs from her itunes account but it hasn't stopped the issue.
There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon. -
