My iPhone 4s keeps overheating, gets really hot! Should I return it?
My belief is that this is a flaw in the 4S. I've had two--same exact problem on both. I've been chasing this problem for six days. I've restored, restored without using a backup, removed email accounts, etc. I downloaded a couple of applications that show processor utilization. Consistently, the phone is around 72% of processor utilization.
Going back to my 4, I do not have these issues at all. Same EXACT configuration. (Software, carrier, etc.) I'm surprised more people aren't raising this as an issue. It also shows significantly reduced battery life. When my processor is pegged (as noted above, that is often) it loses about 5% every 1/2 hour.

RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

Brand new iPhone 4 keeps restarting
Hi I brought a new iPhone 4 today on contract with orange. I set it up perfectly and it was working fine. However after about an hour the iPhone kept restarting itself. I thought of it as nothing at first however it kept doing it, so I did a factory restore which went through fine. However the problem still persist and now I'm annoyed as I've only purchased it 6 hours ago and already having problems with something I'm will to pay near enough 1000 pounds for over 2 years

i actually already did do a complete restore of the phone, including a download of the latest iphone software and reinstalling that on my phone, however problem is still persisting.
i rang up apple, and they said they are going to give me a new iphone
however it does seem to be getting progressively worse, and ive only had it for 3 days. restarts seem to be more often, it is now starting to freeze, one time my screen went all crackly and today it actually went blue! similar to the type of blue screen that can happen on windows laptops sometimes. -
I'm trying to find my phone back up from a few days ago before I bought my new iPhone, but when I searched on iTunes backup it has been replaced by the back up the day after that. Now all my data from my old phone is lost including some really important things. Also before that iTunes wouldn't let me sync my iPhone 5s data to my new iPhone 6 Plus, saying that the data is corrupt, that's where all this trouble started. I've been trying to back-up the old phones data so I can access it, but it's been replaced when ever I plug the new phone in, and no the 'sync automatically when connected' is not ticked. Please help me find my back ups.
Your iCoud account remains in iCloud even if your device is restored. (In fact, you can't delete an iCloud account from iCloud, you can only choose to stop using it.) If the device is restored, or it may no longer be signed into your iCloud account but your account will still exist in iCloud.

have the new iphone 4s and the camera shutter wont open so i can not take photos it is only 4 weeks old dose anyone know why?
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
The next step would be to restore the iphone as new in iTunes. If that doesn't work, make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple Store.

I have 3 iPhones and 3 iPod syncing without problems on one computer.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
On your mum's iPhone go to Settings > General > About > Name - put in your mum's name so that iTunes can tell them apart. -

Really hot, as in too hot to touch? Have you tried a reset, or a restore on the device. You need to do those things before you take it to Apple for evaluation. It is Apple's decision if it should be replaced.

Contacts are not part of the backup. Contacts, when using your phone as intended, are synched to your computer's Outlook, Address Book or with a cloud service. If you haven't been using your phone as intended, then your contacts are gone.
