My new iPhone 5s will not turn on after inserting the SIM card. Help?

I bought my new iPhone 5s from US Cellular and attached it said to insert the SIM card before activation. So I shut the phone off, insert he the SIM, and now it wont turn on. Any help? I have to activate it today and don't want anything to delay it.

I know it has to be frustrating wanting to use your iPhone but cannot turn it on. In this situation I would recommend the steps listed in the attached article.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Huh...? Where did you get it? And what instructions are you looking at? The instructions do NOT tell you to slide the back off. The back doesn't come off. The Sim slot is on the right side of the phone. You use the tool that came with it or a paper clip to eject the SIM tray and put your Nano-SIM in it.

The iPhone 5, the Wall Charger, and the Lightning Cable are all covered by the 1 year Warranty. Make Genius reservation and take all 3 to Apple so the problem can be sorted and resolved.

First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

Iphone 3gs will not turn on after attempting a factory restore

My iphone 3gs will not turn on after attempting a factory restore, all that happens is the apple logo appears the timer goes round then stops. It then switches itself on and off several times to no avail.
The only way I can turn it off now is by holding the off button and the home button, but then it goes into the cycle again.
Any advice gretly appreciated.

Brand new iPhone 4 will not turn on...

I decided to get rid of my Tilt and go to an iPhone 4. Everthing was great for two days. I love the phone. However, I got off of a call and put the phone down. Picked it up about 20 mins later and it will not turn on. The phone has not been damaged in any way water or otherwise.
Thinking the phone is turned off,I have tried holding down the home button and the off button on the upper right hand side of the phone.
I am new to apple products. Is the phone simply turned off and I just don't know how to turn it on or is it broken?
If it is broken, I'm not that concerned because I know that the Apple store where I bought will replace it. I just don't want to drive out there and find out I just have the phone turned off.

I tried the charger for about 15 mins before I had to go and the phone would still not power on.
I held the two buttons down and the Apple symbol did come on and the phone is now on and apparently working. It showed the battery empty. The weird thing is that when I got off the call before the phone quit working, the battery meter said over 50%. I only have a couple of apps on the phone besides what it came with. Incidentally, I am still running 4.01. I haven't had time to upgrade.
Would it be normal for the battery to just drop to zero like that?
How often should I reset my iPhone by holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons.

Have performed a full restore of my iPhone 4 using iTunes, including software, firmware and my last backup. Now will not turn on by any combination of sleep/awake, on/off buttons and connected/disconnected to power.

I am reading on this site about the error I am getting and it wants me to change some files that I am not comfortable messing with. Mainly because it is like a foreign language. Will the store do this for me or tell me if it is neccessary?

It is usually given as a communication error between Apple, iTunes (your computer), iPhone. Somewhere they are not communicating, so the iOS you are trying to install cannot be approved by Apple. Trouble shooting steps include, making sure you have Current iTunes installed, make sure your Hosts file of computer is not blocking Apple. Try restoring on another computer.

Try this:
Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, try the reset again as described above.

Brand new iPhone 5s will not turn on

I purchased a brand new iPhone 5s for my daughter and when we went to turn it on this morning, it would not turn on. I charged the phone, in case that was the issue but still nothing but a black screen. I connected to itunes and tried to restore the iPhone features, it recognized that it was an iphone but gave me an error 40 and the apple logo and progress bar was only visible. Once I diconnected from itunes, the screen went blank again. I also made sure that our iMac updates were completely up to date and that there were no security settings blocking its use, but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Brand new iPhone 6 will not turn on

Just out of the box, turned it on, set it up on wifi successfully, then plugged it in overnight. This morning it will not respond at all, does not power up. I am currently in Italy (it is an unlocked phone ordered from Apple US), so I cannot just head for the nearest Apple Store with it.
