My new iPhone is only being recognized as a camera, everything apple website suggests does not help!
I just bought a new iPhone. When i plug it into my computer the only thing that happens is getting pop up saying its found a camera. Apparently this is normal. But iTunes does not open at all, and when I open iTunes, no matter what I do, my iPhone is unable to be recognized.. which, obviously makes me unable to upload any songs at all.. which defeats the purpose of me even having this phone, because that's why i got it.
I've tried everything apple has suggested. Yes, my cord works. When I plug my regular iPod in, my computer still recognizes that. I have completely uninstalled then reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. Nothing. I've restarted my fully charged Iphone plenty of times. Nothing. I have restarted my computer. Nothing. i love my iphone, but this is VERY frustrating. Please help.

CalDigit AV Pro drive is only being recognized as a camera
In FCPX import, CalDigit AV Pro drive is only being recognized as a camera, not as a hard drive. How can I get FCPX to recognize it as a drive?
This usually is caused by have some folder at the top level of the drive which is named something that could be in a camera.
Names like DCIM, Private, Video, AVCHD and others.
Just find the folder with a suspect name, and change the name or store it inside another folder. -

My external hard drive that I use as a backup is not being recognizedc by my MAC PRO. Usually I get the icon for the backup, when I attach it to my computer, but that isn't happening. What can I do?
Well, I tried all of your suggestions and they didn't work -- no surprise because I was trying to backup to my external c.d. disk. Duh! The application for the home is in the mail.

I've read the other guides and the Apple 101 regarding PC not recognizing the iphone.
It's missing from Device Manager. Uninstalling USB drivers does not help. No other phone works, my phone works on other PC's though.

I ejected the phone - downloaded some songs on PC itune, updated my library and then tried to plug my phone back in (USB). Nada. It does not show up as a device in explorer.
I've tried it on another computer and it works fine. Nothing is wrong with the chords. Other devices are not being recognized on my PC.

Chords are in working order . I've tested on other computers.
As you can see - drivers missing and not displaying as a device. Software installed numerous times - I even deleted the library files and related in other folders for other software. I've pushed autoplay back to default, and reset all it's settings for recognized devices.

Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Click the Windows Start button .
In the Start Search field type Services.
In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
After the service has stopped, click Start the service.
After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device. -

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

I was not warned that audiobooks are a one time download only for those using iCloud to backup. As a result I've lost my audiobook when switching to a new iPhone after the previous phone was damaged.
Will Apple refund me for the audio book?

Starting to wonder about the benefits of Android :-/If you haven't been keeping a backup of your downloads (none of your iTunes downloads are included in an iCloud backup, apps, music etc are only redownloadable whilst they remain in your country's store) then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

If your iPod is not being recognized, here is a fix Apple hasn't mentioned...and it works!
Since the most recent iTunes update none of our iPods is recognized by iTunes. Our PC is smart enough to recognize my iPod, but iTunes is not.
After MUCH aggravation....AFTER trying all the fixes outlined by Apple Support, AFTER contacting Apple Help and doing what they said, NOTHING WORKED.
I searched the internet again and found the simplest of instructions. They explain that with the new iTunes update some iPods are being recognized as digital cameras rather than iPods, which mine was doing. This is how I fixed it.
Attach your iPod to your computer.
1. Open the Device Manager. (To do this right click on My Computer or Computer, click on Properties, and then click on Device Manager).
2. Find you iPod. Normally it will show up on it's own, but since your computer is recognizing it as a digital camera it may be under something else; mine was under Portable Devices.
Even though it is saying drivers are up to date based on all Apple Fixes, you DO HAVE TO MANUALLY UPDATE DRIVERS...and this is what you have to do!
3. Select the Apple iPod by double clicking on it when you find it.
4. Select Driver on the tabs and click on Update Driver.
5. Choose Browse My Computer for Driver Software. Once opened, you must locate this file: Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. Select that folder and Click Next. Once the update is complete, unplug your iPod. Wait 30 seconds and plug it back in...your computer should now recognize the iPod.
To whoever found out about this fix and posted it online, THANK YOU!!! I have spent hours and hours following Apples advice to no avail...but this fix, posted online by someone else, DID work...so thank you for posting it...and I am just passing it on!Just get a Mac and you won't have to F with drivers.

My IPad 2, IPhone 3GS ans iPod no longer work with apple TV, I have 2 apple TV in my house and for he last 3 weeks the iPod was the only one we could use for appleTV now none of them works, the apple TV icon does not show up any more. Re-started everything.

1) When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2) I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3) So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You could simply ensure that only the numbers and addresses you wish to use on each device are checked at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. However this isn’t an ideal solution because the other person can always change these settings from their device and have some fun with you and your contacts.
You’d be far better getting them to delete your account from their device and have them create one of their own. If you are sharing an ID for some other service such as iTunes, you can continue to do so, you only need change the ID for messages. -
My wife's new iPhone was automatically backing up to iCloud. Now my 5mb limit is not allowing me to get my email. I turned off the automatic backup, but I do I get the storage capacity back?
Turning off automatic backup doesn't delete anything from your account, it only stops it from continuing to back up to iCloud. If you want to reduce your iCloud storage, this article provides some suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

I upgraded from Iphone 3g to iphone 4. I had to update my macbook pro to Lepard just to sync. the **** thing with the new iphone 4. I bought and updated to lepard. Now when I try to sync itunes does not recognize my new iphone 4 as mine and wants to erase everything I have bought using the phone before it will sync! It says everything on the phone now will be cleared in order to sync it with my existing info on the computer from my previous iphone. How can I just get everything from my current iphone 4 into itunes, basically add it to the info from my previous iphone 3g that is currently in my itunes? I dont want to lose what I have on my phone currently....I paid money for half the apps for crying out loud.
I was so frustrated by this when I first bought the phone that I just pushed it out of my mind and NEVER synced it. Please help...Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.
