My new iPod Classic will not sync with my new Mac Book. My iPhone 5 does, so does 2nd gen. iPod touch. Apple Store cannot figure it out. Tried different Classics on different Macs, same thing. iTunes update issue ?
The iPod Classic I bought a month ago is not synching with my new Mac Book I bought 3 weeks ago. All the software was immediately updated. My iPhone 5 synchs fine, and so does my 2nd generaton iPod Touch. The original computer I synched all of these devices on was my HP latop. I bought my Mac and Classic to the Apple Store for a 'Genius Appt' and they could not figure out what the problem is. The connected my Classic to another computer and the same thing happens. It says device is not recognized. They also took other iPod Classics and connected them to my Mac and other Macs. The same thing was happening. They took notes and said it probably is an iTunes update issue.
I can manually drag songs into my Classic but I lost all playlists because it cannot be backed up as well and they had to restore it. For now I am holding on to it but it's usless to me if I cannot use it the way I liked too. I used it for the gym and bike riding and my last iPod battery died after 6 years. A charge would last 45 miutes. I love the Classic for what I use it for but it's a $275 brick to me now. At least the renewed by receipt so I can get a full refund.
Is anyone else seeing this issue ? The Apple Store employee said he saw a first generation iPad havng the same issue. As of now the Support Dest is unaware of this. As much as I love my new Mac I am disappointed I cannot sync my new Classic to it. Total bummer.
Any help would be apprecated.
By the way, I totally restored everything. It was ok. It starts to 'unrecognize' my iPod Classic when it comes to synching with iPhoto. After this happened all the menus disappeared from my iPod (music, Podcasts, movies synched fine). It seems to be a problem when synching with iPhoto. It was the same thing before.

Every time I plug my ipod into the computer, it will not sync. It says it's syncing and turns for maybe 5 sec.s and then disconnects. I can't find anyplace to change syncing settings. I have the latest itunes version and things seem to be rearranged a bit.
I know my ipod is not syncing b/c there are old playlists in my ipod that are not in my new library. Also, I've purchased new songs and they won't move over to the ipod.

3rd gen iPod Nano will not sync with latest version of iTunes on new laptop. It passes the connectivity test but not the sync test under diagnostics. Worked fine on old Windows 7 laptop but not new one. From Control Panel it shows up as an Apple iPod USB Device...
Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok. -

JodiClose iTunes. On your phone, double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle & a red minus sign appears. Tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap Home button when finished. Re-start your Mac, launch iTunes, connect your phone. See if things work now.

I have an ipod classic that will not sync with my new laptop which has windows 8 installed. When i plug it into my laptop it doesn't show up in itunes or my computer. I tried it with the ipod in disk mode, and it still won't show up in itunes, but does in my computer-however when i click on it my computer freezes so i have to unplug it.
I've been through several forums already, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, updating my drivers, renaming the driver that the ipod plugs into, all with no success. I used to have a similar problem on my old laptop, but this could be cured by right-clicking on the ipod in my computer and clicking 'format' - my ipod would then be wiped, but itunes would then recognize it and i could sync everything back onto the device-it was time consuming but it worked. However i am unable to do thisnow as the ipod either doesn't show in my computer, or freezes my laptop when i do finally get it to show in disc mode.

I got a new computer and my IPOD will not sync with the new computer.....I have a ITUNES account on the new computer and is downloading music just fine but it will not sync to the IPOD....What should I do to sync my IPOD? thanks
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync an iDevice to a new computer will remove all content from the device and replace it with content from the new, empty library. -

except for only one but none of the other shows are syncing, Ipod classic will not sync with tv shows except for only one but none of the other shows are syncing. I have them checked but they still wont sync.
Are you getting any error messages during the sync process? If not, reset warnings on the iPod by right->clicking on it from under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and selecting Reset Warnings. Then resync the device.

I've tried reseting my sync accounts the way all of the help articles say, but my computer and two android devices just will not sync with this new FF Sync version.
I've tried unregistering the device sync accounts, removing the accounts, reinstalling FF on all devices, etc.

On the android devices in the Account section of your OS settings, please make sure that the account is not listed under "Firefox Sync (deprecated)" this is the old sync. Firefox for Android may need to be reinstalled and the Firefox Sync (depricated) account removed from the device.
NOTE: DO NOT do this if there is data on the devices that have not obviously synced yet. An alternative is to visit accounts.firefox.com to see if you are logged into the device on the new sync sign in page.

Situation: I bought a brand new Mac Air on 12/7/12 and tried to sync my 6th generation iPod nano (previously configured to a PC) with no sucess. ITunes was only allowing me to charge and eject the nano.
Solution:
1. Go to View>sidebar
2. In the sidebar, click "iPod" under the Devicies category
3. Click "Music" section next to "Summary" under the status bar
4. Make sure "Sync" box is checked with your preferred preferences underneath
5. Click "Sync" in bottom right corner of window
Apparently, iTunes 11 is quite different and the sidebar with usual options and playlists does not appear unless selected in the "View" drop-down.

the problem is a failure to sync with the new computer. the conditions are as follows: the new computer is a pc. it has the latest iTunes software installed. the iPod is installed properly. i'm fully recognized by my iTunes account. there is nothing lacking other than my iPod's refusal to sync with my new computer. what have i left undone? i could be suffering from a duh, but i'm not the only one. nothing in the apple world is as difficult as this one is, at least on the surface. if it were that simple an issue, no one would be having any problems with it. any more information needed can be provided by request. by the way, the computer being used has been authorized. that is a non-issue.

hardphil.I believe the IPOD (Classic) uses USB 2.0, and my new laptop uses USB 3.0. I think they are not compatable because of this. If you find a solution to this please let me know.

about 2 months ago i bought an ipod nano 4gb. It has worked great until i updated my itunes the other day. I sync'ed it fine and added some songs, but now it will not sync with anything. not my computer, my buddies computer, or my xbox 360. it will charge though. I also have an ipd mini that works fine. i am getting very angry and i need some help befor i lose what is left on my already deminishing mind. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

I have checked my internal speakers on an iMac and also the external speakers - all working. When play music in iTunes the sound bar moves but no sound is heard. Same problem if I want to listen to the radio via internet. Has anyone a suggestion.
